I watched opening statements and the first few witnesses. Here are my observations: Judge H has the courtroom in order. He’s in control. Ms. Cappelman has prepared extremely well and conveys a sense of confidence with her carriage and demeanor. Her delivery was calm, logical, and clear. The woman to the right of Ms. Cappelman was fidgety and her tossing and flipping of her hair was a distraction! SG’s defense attorney used the 7fingers too much. I know why, and I understand the intent, but it was irritating. I got the impression there’s not a lot to work with, defense-wise, so he’s tossing out the best he’s got for a defense. It’s flimsy at best. KM’s attorney was high energy and had an attitude. The defense may have some doubt-provoking evidence, but it remains to be seen if those two can pull off reasonable doubt.
BTW, I’d never seen pics of either defendants with glasses. Now both are wearing glasses. Strategy or bad vision?
