I'm sitting here with tears just thinking of the sexual torture this poor baby went through and it's all there !!! He admited it, the pictures are there, WHAT IN THE HE!! are they waiting for, he needs life without parole, NO bargaining!! Diana never got to bargain, this poor baby has really affected me , I guess because everyday now for the last 31 years I live with the fact that my then 10 year old mentally handiccaped son was brutally sodomized at camp, a place he lived to go to every summer, and his effen perp runs free, nothing was ever done, still today, he tells us not to hurt him when we have to wipe him, I'm so sorry for venting here but I cant help it right now, it's been a tough 41 years for my son and it continues, I have lost all faith in humanity.
Diana, at this point with what has happened to you baby girl, I hope you are resting in peace, NEVER to be hurt again. My heart is with you and I am shedding tears for you right now. NO BARGAINING FOR THAT MONSTER!! JUST TELL HER FAMILY WHERE HER BODY IS, so they can lay her to rest!

I am so sorry what your son went through and for the pain it has caused you. It just isn't fair no one was held accountable! I agree with you this guy needs to fess up and let Diana's family know where he put Diana and he needs to do it NOW.

I'm so sorry that happened to him. I can't imagine how he and you feels. It makes me sick to my stomach that there are people out that that do these things to our innocent children that can't protect themselves.

Most difficult of all for Gibson was finding out after the trial that Alvarez still hasn’t been found. He was only vaguely familiar with the case before the trial, and prosecutors weren’t allowed to mention Alvarez had gone missing.
 
Mr. Gibson, I know the details of this trial were tough and I am sorry you and the other jury members will be forever changed because of this monster's actions. Thank you for your service and for bringing some justice to our Diana!

Two volunteer organizations announced their decision Friday to renew the search for Diana Alvarez next week, the day after the one-year anniversary of her disappearance.

The search will begin Tuesday near her San Carlos Park home, where Diana was last seen on May 29, 2016. The organizations will retrace the path investigators believe Jorge Guerrero took when he fled Lee County.

The organizations plan to use new technology some law enforcement agencies don’t possess, including two kinds of K-9s and cadaver dogs, as well as high-tech sonar equipment to search deep below bodies of water.

Four search crews scan area where Diana Alvarez disappeared a year ago

Tuesday morning, almost a year after that encounter, Case and several other Peace River searchers and their dogs joined in a renewed search for Diana, fanning out around that same San Carlos Park community.

Looking around the Sheltering Pines trailer park just off U.S. 41, dogs and handlers walked through weedy, brushy, mosquito-infested woods, along sunlit streets, backyards, front yards, wood piles, trash piles and just about everywhere.

Reverand Sarah Witten-Grigsby, public information officer and chaplin for Peace River K9 Search and Rescue, said the dogs and handlers were part of 12 such teams that were searching for evidence of Diana across the state.

Other crews are continuing to search along the travel route officials believe suspect Jorge Guerrero-Torres took.

Crews from a pair of volunteer organizations picked up the search this week for Diana Alvarez one year after her disappearance.

“Some areas of interest have been found” in regard to Diana’s whereabouts, said Sarah Whitten-Grisby, a spokeswoman for Peace River K-9 Search and Rescue, one of the groups involved in the renewed search.

The crews are looking near the Alvarez home, as well as in areas near Okeechobee, Moore Haven and Indiantown in accordance with records from the cellphone of former family friend Jorge Guerrero, who’s suspected of taking her.

Imagine how the jurors must have felt, after having to sit through and examine those awful pornographic images of Diana, and find the man guilty, to learn she is missing and likely murdered by him.

I'm so glad they are still searching for her. Such challenging terrain with infinite possibilities, imo. Maybe because he is possibly a disorganized offender he might have been sloppy with the disposal. Thanks everyone for the updates.

Well he threw out his phone, thinking they couldn't get the info. No rocket scientist. Hopefully that will help find her.

The family's attorney said a "DNA detector" alerted the team to two areas, one in Lee County and the other near Indiantown, south of Okeechobee. They used a DNA sample from Diana's brother, who has the same mother and father as Diana, to make the connection.

What in the world is that? ?? I don't know, but my heart is pounding. I think shes going to be found soon. And then all hope will be gone.
