Edited to Add: I have no doubt that if I had been attacked like that as a teenager, I would have fought back within an inch of my life, and so would my own daughter. I'm sure we would have been trying to pick up that table and hit someone with it. But not every girl is going to fight back, and bullies can always pick out a victim. If they had picked on this girl before and she didn't fight back, then they knew they had easy prey. That in no way justifies what they did. I think that girl was in shock and couldn't believe what was happening - who can?

I applaud your mindset, but I think you underestimate the amount of pain that was induced with just 1/10th of the blows this girl took. Also, she was in survival mode, do what you have to (or not), to stay alive. I think in this case if she had fought back she would be dead.

Oh, please don't misunderstand me - I'm not underestimating the pain of the blows, but I think some in the media don't have a clue about what happened there, and they are downplaying it.

If she had fought back, no telling what they might have hit her with - something glass, for instance, that might have caused her to bleed to death.

Believe me - I know that girl was in pain! :furious: I just don't care about the "pain" of the girls who did it to her, or their freakin' parents. The parents are not responsible for this, but they shouldn't be "upset" that this got out. Their own children have problems they need to worry about.

....SNIP

Thoughtfox,
Let me say your letter was EXCELLENT:woohoo: .
I had to quote the above portion of your second post because IMO this plays a huge part in this animalistic behavior and I too don't give a rat's *advertiser censored* about the attackers or their parents. I care about Victoria Lindsday and her recovery. I hope her little attackers get their ****** beat in jail.

Wait! Did I miss something? Are the parents actually saying that they're "upset" that this got out?

It's their own daughters that made this video to put out!

How absolutely ignorant ... stupid ... eye rolling ... ACK!

I am delighted they are being tried as adults. I don't think they will be getting life in prison, but I am sure the thought of it is just killing them. I am delighted about that, too!

Those, along with the kidnapping charges, could land the girls some hefty jail sentences.

One of the girl's mothers says the charges are extreme.

"The fact that she is being charged as an adult appalls me," said Christina Garcia, mother of accused teen Mercades Nichols.

Garcia says ever since the shocking video has made the rounds on television and the internet, the family home where the beating happened has been under siege, with threatening phone calls, full of vulgarity and threats.

I watched the video twice. I think these girls are going to find themselves challenged to fight by someone everyday once they are sentenced to jail/prison. These silly cheerleaders won't stand a chance with their slapping and ear boxing techniques against the real street fighters in there. They are going to see what bad really is.

Hi Everyone, so glad I found this thread. I am SO appalled by this situation, you can't imagine. What am I saying, yes you can, that's why you're all here.

Years ago, when my daughter started college, she initially went to a local community college. She met a few girls who, from the start, I thought were out of her league. Real street smart, around the block a few times, type of girls. One in particular really spooked me. She was HARD looking. One night my daughter comes home hysterical, the scary looking one had left a message on her cell phone. I believe she was drinking when she left it, but it was "f you this, and f you that. I'm gonna fn blank you when I see you", blah, blah, blah.

We slid a couch into my bedroom and my daughter and our four dogs all slept together than night behind a locked door. (Several locked doors). I fell asleep holding my daughter's hand, she was beside herself. She never EVER had a *friend* like this before. The next day I got my wits about me, and WOW OH WOW, was I ever ANGRY. I just happen to have a friend who's a detective in our town, hehehe... I contacted him, and long story short, he found this bully where she works, got in her face (wearing his gun in a holster under his arm mind you), and said that the phone message warranted threatning behavior, she could easily see herself behind bars, and that he'd personally be following here wherever she went, for the rest of her life. HAHAHAHA...he embellished a bit, but he was really mad too. Fortunately we had her phone message on tape, she couldn't argue too much, but she was shaking like a leaf and kept saying she was sorry, she didn't mean it THAT way, etc. I know for a fact she's a major bully. Anyhow, that was the end of HER, thank God, but these *girls* are everywhere and like all abusive bullies, they target those weaker than they are, or 8 on one like Victoria.

Personally, I hope the courts utilize this situation and book these kids with everything. I sincerely hope they do get life. If these kids are used as an example, as well they should be, it could possibly put a huge dent in cyberbullying.

The parents of these kids should be fined $300.00 every single time they speak ONE word in defense of these animals. There is absolutely NO justification what-so-ever for what happened. In fact, the parents should do the same time with these creeps they've raised.

Can you tell I'm just a tad HOT about this?

Me too! Truly hope they are all kept in prison until they're at least 23 years old.

This thought crossed my mind also, and I'm sure all of them have thought it too, I hope they're scared, as scared as their victim was when she was being beat!

One of the news shows tonight showed the girls being arraigned this morning on their charges. EVERY ONE of them were crying, hair was a mess, and their head faced PARALLEL the floor. Only one was able to look up at the judge -- and it was only halfway.

I guess they've learned the hard way that if you do something to someone who fights back a different way, the consequences are MUCH more damaging than not making cheerleading practice again.

I saw this too kygal. I have zero sympathy for the kids, and I repeat, I hope they throw the book at them. If they get a slap on the wrist, they'll think it's hysterical and do it again.

I watched the video again, it seems Britney was the lead-beater. I could hear Victoria saying her name.

I was floored when I read this from one of the mothers:

>>>"The fact that she is being charged as an adult appalls me," said Christina Garcia, mother of accused teen Mercades Nichols.

"It's awful," Garica says. "Death threats on my daughter? I mean, the people that are making these threats are way worse then the situation at hand," Garcia said.<<<

She's upset about death threats on her daughter, when her daughter almost killed someone??? The mentality of this woman confuses the h*ll out of me.

I think it's something in the water there. This is the same town that the girl-scout-cookie-money-thieves are from.

This is the reason why her daughter turned out the way she did. She didn't teach her accountability for her actions. She taught her to get the upper hand. When she got caught for playing dirty, mom justified her behavior.
We all know parents like this.

Although I am completely disgusted by all mean girl crap out there, and this goes over the top, I do not think that these girls should be doing life in prison.

Hi csds :blowkiss:

I just clicked on the link that Angla provided. Go to #11 and take a look at the mug of one of the Mom's, far right. Grrrrr! Then I read this:

>>>During the session, none of the teenagers spoke, although they showed a range of emotions from being upset to laughing and giggling<<<

Laughing and giggling?

IMO, it was attempted murder. I know I sound incredibly harsh, but I pray the book is thrown at them. Maybe tomorrow I feel differently, probably not though.

I was just reading that myself. It really turns your stomach doesn't it?
Maybe I was giving them too much credit, by thinking it was teen mentality gone out of control.

Laughing and giggling just shows no remorse.

I cannot believe how low the bail is! I thought the judge was going to say 500k for the kidnapping. These girls deserve everything they have coming. But if that bail is indicative of what is to come I am kind of worried about the consequences being too lenient.

we had a terrible video'ed gang rape here in orange County a few years ago. I mean the whole thing was disgusting and captured on tape. the first jury was HUNG! Part of it was because they knew that the teenage perps could put put away for 50 plus years and they just couldn;t be a part of it. So the second time around they dropped 1/2 the charges so they could get a jury that would be comfortable convicting. They were convicted btw.

I think it takes alot to give up on someone who is just a teen.
When you sentence someone to life in prison, you are basically saying that they are beyond rehabilitation.

A gang rape...I would have had NO PROBLEM.
How much time did they get?
