Logan Mott, accused of killing Grandmother, enters guilty plea

Logan Mott, the teen accused of brutally killing his Grandmother in Neptune Beach, has withdrawn his plea of not guilty and entered a guilty plea in court Wednesday morning.

Prosecutors and Mott’s defense attorneys came to an agreement that the court could give a sentence lower than the mandatory minimum of 25 years. The judge will now be allowed to impose a sentence anywhere between 15 and 40 years.

Mott told a judge today since his arrest he has completed high school and is currently taking college courses in jail.

A horrible tragedy but Logan pleading guilty was the best outcome IMO. I hadn't realized a confession was involved as well.

“Investigators said Mott confessed to killing French. According to police reports, Mott told a friend that he "shot a woman execution-style, leaving blood everywhere."

“About my grandmother just pretend she was never born okay, don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to,” he told another friend about French’s disappearance, according to a police report.”

I don't think the mother is on any position to point fingers at the father. She failed this kid just as much as his father did. JMO MOO IMO

Yes and she admits that. His father has said nothing. Based on the evidence, Logan was acting bizarre before his father left to go on vacation with his girlfriend for 2 weeks. The both waited too late to admit they're toxic parents.

Denial by both parents occurred way before their toxic parenting. IMO, that was the biggest part of their son's undoing.

The teen who plead guilty to murdering his grandmother and burying her in the backyard is back in court Wednesday for the sentencing phase of his case.

Logan Mott entered the fifth-floor courtroom looking thin and pale. He sat leaning over the table as JSO Homicide Detective Neil Chandler testified -- whether drawing or writing, it was not clear.
