Yes they will have to because as we have seen in some of these cases of missing children there have been no charges because of not enough evidence to convict.

One good thing is there is no statute of limitations on murder. I hope they can gather enough evidence to get the guy now, but even if they don't, the possibility will always exist that he will be charged.

Yes that is true, so we will see when LE let us know more, and if there is any evidence of anyone else's involvement in what happened to Lonzie. I just wish they could find the little guy, :(

Any thoughts on why Hackney referenced cards and poker in his latest press conference? Was Ebron a card player? Lonna? Any of the cast of characters that we know of? Did the group frequent casinos as well as strip joints? I don't think the references were "off the cuff" police jargon but were aimed at someone.

My thought is that once the testing on the vehicle was complete they knew he had been in that car deceased. It was at that time they changed things to a "recovery" rather than a "rescue". Again.. my opinion based on Hackneys demeanor and wording changes.

Wonder if/what was found in car? Traces of vomit? While urine traces would be common in a car with babies (yuck I know) , both those body fluids could hold trace chemicals if he died from drug intake. Could he has tried to wash car seat cover in "laundromat"? Those ecstacy pills made to look like candy are especially worrisome with an active 2 yr old.

No news? No arrest? I wish they would find baby Lonzie, I just about wreck when I am on the Southside trying to scan the retention ponds as I drive past. :scared:

I think just a figure of speech! MOO

WRE played in pool tournaments, it's possible/probable he's also hustled games to make extra money. If so, then he probably also likes to gamble "under the table" to make a little money. I would imagine some of the strip clubs he frequented would wink at these activities.

JMO

ETA: If he's a really good card player, he probably has a reputation in that circle, JSO knows it and is hoping to use it to their advantage. Again, just a thought and JMO

I think, just my opinion, that it was sign of death.. body gives off signs soon afterwards. Dogs and forensics would be able to pick up on it. By changing the wirding so publicly I would say it had to be a beyond doubt discovery.

Good point. He played in pool tournaments, which means he's a good player. Perhaps Hackney was cutting him down where it hurts - good players don't like to be beat. It also means that if Ebon is a player, he uses strategy and was thinking of how the cops would respond to the 911 call and then did things to thwart their investigation.

I don't know. Just thinking about the case.

I think they would have some DNA evidence by now for sure, but we just don't know what it is yet.
I thought about Lonzie overdosing on something, maybe even cocaine or anything else that was around? I remember years ago my 2yr. old son got into my bedside table drawer and ate some of my birth control pills, luckily they didn't have any adverse affect on him, but i got straight onto the hospital about it. So yes, little ones can do stuff like that, but i don't know if Lonzie did, but its a possibility. Many very young children have ingested poisonous substances and ended up in the ER, and that's why it's so important to keep all that stuff right out of their reach. But illegal drugs is another issue altogether and i imagine a very serious issue if a little one overdoses on that stuff.

Yeah it's an awful thought and especially since LE have found two other people that died in their search for Lonzie. It just makes you wonder for sure about those retention ponds and other areas of water around the place.

i think he is a manipulative game playing SOB.

Men like Ebron don't care if their partners are dancers/strippers because they know these women can bring home a lot of money after a shift. Ebron wants money for drugs and who knows what. I think he would be pushing LL to do several shifts a week. What men like Ebron do care about is being left to look after the kids while they want to get high/deal etc. Being a babysitter isn't fun when you and your buddies want to get high/stoned. And especially when they aren't your kids. I think it's highly plausible that Ebron could kill a child, especially if he's wanting to get high/coked up whatever.

I don't judge LL for being a dancer/stripper. A lot of women have to choose to go that route when they are single parents to be able to get by. What I don't agree with is leaving your children with a "new" man, while you go out to work, and thinking that is ok. How many cases do we see where baby/toddler is killed and disposed of by boyfriends?

Me too. I'm scanning ditches, fields and water anywhere..too many bridges. Garbage bins and the such really get my attention. I want to take the boat out and creep up Goodbys creek but the the weather has been awful.

The list of drugs found in the prior report had my hinky meter go off. I researched some and now more then ever believe Lonzie accidentally invested what looks to be "candy." The "strawberry" Ecstasy pills look like everyday candy and if they were laying around on a table as what was reported prior, then I would be certain Lonzie got ahold of these.

Don't want to read too much into this but I have to agree. The choice of words seemed very deliberate. HUGE stretch, but....supposing he used poker references when talking to one of his visitors, as Hackney wants to show him he knows. Or suppose he used poker terms as a code (many drug dealers use code words to thwart wiretapping efforts). And the hugest stretch, suppose his car pinged at one of the poker rooms, habitual gamblers have been known to leave kids in cars while they gamble. All of this is purely speculation, and it may have been off the cuff, but I feel like it was meant to send a message to WRE.

Police tauntinge, suspect denial mark back and forth in Lonzie case

Thanks lauriej!

A couple of things stood out to me. This: "Hackney said dozens of homeowners, business owners and others responded to his request for surveillance images, and police have also said similar evidence placed Ebron at a laundromat, a gas station and a storage unit" because a few people mentioned hearing Hackney talk about a storage unit in an early press briefing. This quote is confirmation of that and of the fact that they have more footage than what we saw.

This quote, "“If I was the Public Defender I would go down to the jail and strangle my client,” from the law professor interviewed, made me laugh. Sometimes when 'experts' are interviewed, I roll my eyes, but this guy sounds pretty on the ball. And he did prosecute Ted Bundy, so he has experience with criminals who think they are smarter than everyone else.

Also, I don't think tauntinge is a word. lol

From the link, BBM:

What time was he at the storage unit?? I'll add it to our timeline if anyone has that info.

--Chief Hackney mentioned the storage unit, just barely, in one of the earlier press briefings, we haven't heard anything else on it, he never mentioned a time etc...
