Since the parents were divorced, I am wondering if this "meeting" at the restaurant wasn't some type of "intervention" about his recent behavior and that's the real reason he stormed out? I believe it was 45 minutes from the time he left the restaurant until the time he attacked his victims? Could he have scored some more drugs in those 45 minutes?
SABBM

I wondered as well about the time frame. Thought someone posted a while back that the distance from the restaurant to the victims' home was 2-3 miles ?
It doesn't take that long to walk that extent.
I'd also like to know who AH had contact with that day, and esp. in that 45 minutes.

He was acting strangely before he even left a restaurant. Believed he had super powers according to his mother's 911 call. Used to think he needed steroids but didn't think so anymore? So was he taking them, at least in the past?
"In the most recent video, posted Aug. 11, Harrouff mused about bodybuilding and frequently discussed steroid use, saying he didn't need the drug: “I used to think that I needed steroids to be a bodybuilder. To be this thing. To be this symbol. To be this lie.”"

Ok. Remember the Florida guy on bath salts that killed a guy and started eating him?

Ok. So what does this tells us.

This student probably bought bath salts or another drug that was laced with bath salts. Jmo.

Temporarily insane plea is definitely in the realm. Jmo.

R.i.p to the couple.

The Causeway Cannibal?

bbm - If he survives. Didn't they say he's in bad shape?

Agree.

But forget him. Jmo.

Because I want the drug dealer that's going to continue selling this same drug to others. Jmo.

If a drug is out there that makes you want to kill and eat humans.

Then the dealers should be sentence to death. Jmo.

Roid rage? Apparently he was into body building (albeit claimed he didn't think he needed steroids, but did he take any in the past?)

Hmm... In the video, he didn't convince me he'd never taken steroids when he said --

“I used to think I needed steroids to be a bodybuilder, to be this thing, to be this symbol, to be this lie.”

Can the OP please add the name of the accused in the thread heading so it is searchable? And perhaps make the subject heading a bit less tabloidy? It needs more clear details. TIA.
Mods are welcome to change it as they see fit. I'm on mobile now and my editing skills are weak.

I see it more as a factual title, as that is basically what happened here but again, mods can change it to better suit the topic format here.

I know very little about steroids, only that they can cause sudden rage. I've not heard of any connection to a "cannibalistic rage". MOO, he seemed odd and off in that video and there was an undercurrent of both cockiness and depression. It seems more likely he was getting messed up taking steroids and maybe did not take flakka. Can someone quit steroids or are they somewhat addictive?

Is it possible he abused steroids for years then started mixing it with harder drugs?
Alcohol, bathsalts, flakka and has a mental illness?

In one of his YouTube videos, the second one where he's driving, he talks about steroids again and states that he doesn't like what they do to him, thus the reason he doesn't think he should take them. It seems clear to me he has a history of taking them then. And he uses different accents in his videos. In one he's trying to sound English or Australian and in another suddenly lapses into a southern accent. Interesting. MOO.

Are you talking about Rudy Eugene? It turned out he did not have bath salt in his system, though. Unfortunately, they don't know what caused his behavior.

I imagine it might be easier for parents to overlook something going wrong mentally when it's an athletic young man who appears to be on course for a bright future. It's possible the pressure to constantly be competitive plus developing undetected mental issues goes unnoticed. He said he felt he was living some kind of lie...maybe taking roids to be the perfect machine went too far.

Thinking about another case...remember the high school wrestler who totally derailed his life killing sweet little Jenise Wright?

If I recall correctly he only had marijuana in his system...which made it that much more bizarre and unexplainable.

"Austin Harrouff, the 19-year-old charged with murdering two people in Martin County, had been acting strangely for about a week and “would say things like he had super powers,” his mother told Jupiter police the night of the incident."

Could someone please explain to me how this kid was talking about having Super Power for a week yet the mom did nothing about it?!

Shawnee man’s dad and stepmom killed in gruesome murder in south Florida

SHAWNEE, Kan. -- A shocking murder, hundreds of miles away hits too close to home for one metro man.

A married couple was in their garage on Monday when deputies say 19-year-old Austin Harrouff savagely attacked them.

59-year-old John Stevens III and his 53-year-old wife Michelle Mishcon were both stabbed to death.

I think I posted earlier it was a distance of at least four miles from the restaurant to the Steven's home. It's a long, winding, road, where one must cross the road several times, in order to walk on a sidewalk. At least a mile of this road is very dark, and there have been sightings of wild animals, mostly deer.

Does anyone think his use of different accents could be a precursor to schizophrenia? I have no clue, but it seems strange....

How sad. It sounds like John Stevens III's son loved and respected his father so much.
It will be hard to deal with the loss of his father. It was such a horrific and senseless crime.

It happened just two weeks before Stevens was going to take his three month old daughter, Jameson, to meet her grandfather for the first time.

“He was going to meet her, and take her out on the water. He was really excited about it,” said Stevens IV.

He said his dad was finally where he wanted to be in life, with a boat, and fishing on his free time.

“That was always his dream. He worked his entire life to get there, so this was really the prime of his life,” Stevens IV said. “He couldn't have been a happier or more kind guy.”

Are there any local posters here who could possibly give an update on the neighbor who was also stabbed?

The neighbor, Jeff Fisher, 47, who intervened in the attack is expected to recover. Thank goodness!!!
