Whose jurisdiction would it be? Does OPD cover Kissimmee? Isn't Kissimmee another county? Or is OPD involved bc that's where she's from?

They have their own PD.

Who initially reported her missing? Gma? in Orlando?
If so, Orange County may have the case, IDK.

ETA:
Looks like Orlando PD has it.

"This is still a missing person," Orlando police Sgt. Vincent Ogburn said. "But, usually, within a month, the person is located or someone would have seen her vehicle."

If the lady had a diabetic episode that caused her to pass out or worse, someone could have dumped her and stolen her car. Sometimes car thieves put a different license plate on the stolen car or take it apart for parts.

I will look into it tomorrow, I don't see as a reporter or the Olando Sentinal, but he may freelance. I will google him and see what we can do to get some attention and maybe the family can be told about TES or steered towards somekind of search party. I know there was one for Kellie Roth, the cadet that went missing. I will have to check her thread and see what the name of the group was that helped get attention for her case.

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing Shefner. Any idea why there aren't any searches along the path that would have been taken? Assuming she'd call her gmom upon leaving, I wonder if something happened right after she left but before she was able to contact her gmom.

A diabetic low can hit quite suddenly. I've had them even tho I don't take insulin (but I do take other diabetic meds). And there are some diabetics who don't realize when their blood sugar is too low and suddenly they become unconscious. I am usually aware of my hypo (low) symptoms but a hypo can strike suddenly.
I'm betting she had a low, became disoriented/unconscious and ran off the road. A whike back I had an insulin dependent coworker who was fine when she left work and less than 5 minutes later she lost consciousness and ran her car over a bridge. Jmo

But....she could also have stopped, say, for gas and been abducted.

thanks WTC, I found his FB account and sent him a message about this case. I gave him a little background just in case and asked him if he could get her some coverage. I told him we were here, looking for answers as always.

I think its very telling that Sandra's car has not been seen. Sounds like it could have been an accident. However, its tough to say.

I thought about an accident too, people do run off the road and end up in a water way here. But most times there is some evidence that a car or truck went off road, like tracks or railings broken, the car doesn't sink the whole way, a person see the accident. So they need to find the route she would have taken and walk and ride the brim or it. I do think the Mall area should be searched for her car. It could just be sitting and no one noticed it because it doesn't stand out or it has not been on the news a lot.

If Sandra passed out, due to her diabetes problem, then it would be unlikely there would be brake tracks going off the roadway.

My biggest issue is that LE seems uninterested in following up on this case. We really don't have very much to go on. It would be nice to know if people saw her leaving McDonald's, when her last phone was placed and who she spoke to, and any information about searches that have been done along her suspected route home.

With all due respect, I live in FL and the ground is sandy and soft, it doesn't mean she would break it if she passed out. In fact she would most likeyl just drive off the road and end up on the side of it, or hit a tree, or maybe just run off into a body of water. Heavy trucks, SUV and cars, leave tracks on the soil here. Any area around water, most likey has some sort of fencing around it. It us usually wire or posts. But I haven't checked out the area as yet, that she would travel. The time of day would be daylight if shortly after she left, and she didn't call, so I am thinking again we have a missing woman in broad daylight, that no one sees anything. I wonder if it is too late to get video from any store or traffic cameras in the areas?

I do not think this had anything to do with her health. Without more details, though, it's almost impossible to know what happened.

Fell asleep with my phone in my hand last night, literally...

Anyway, wanted to note that there have been thefts with force at McDonald's in FL. I noticed a few when originally searching this case. One was a robbery that involved a bat to the night manager's head bc he wouldn't open the safe or something like that. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Morning Bern & everyone! Thats what Sheffner was saying. Maybe you thought Shefner said likely instead of unlikely? Yeah, our eyes are going crossed bc I think all of us Websleuthers are frustrated bc we know Sandra isn't getting the attention she deserves, so we're all trying to make up for lost time. ;) Wanted to note that it wasn't daylight when she went missing - it was night. Sandra met the district manager of that McD's right before he started his night shift. She told her gmom about the date around 9:00 pm.

Bern, thank you for being so proactive! Hopefully he'll pick it up.

I live in FL too and I rarely, if ever, see fencing around retention ponds. At least not in my area, which is not far from this area. I would think there might be tire tracks, but I recall at least one other case where a relative finally found a car that went off a road but he had to go back and search and search until he found a sign of it. I can't recall the case, it was a while ago, sorry, so this is JMO.

I agree it's strange she didn't call. Supposedly she was going to call her grandmother when she left but didn't. I know when I have a diabetic low, my mind isn't working. But still...this is very strange and an abduction is quite possible. JMO

No, I understand the post, I am saying whether or not she braked or didn't brake the car, there can be a tire track leading to where the car went.

Thank you for clearing up the time of day for me, I thought she met him in the am, and then left after 2 hours. Sorry my bad. So she was driving at night, on these roads. I will have to see what the roadways are like in that area, here on the West coast, many roads don't have street lights. The bigger highways, have reflector lights on the roads but the lights are far apart. So depending where she was or what route she took, that is all some thing to look at.

Thanks for keeping me straight, I get crossed eyed too.

When I lived in Metrowest years ago, Turkey Lake was on one of my jogging paths. A lot of us used to complain about the lack of fencing, especially around Turkey Lake where gators were known to inhabit but only a portion has a fenced barrier. Most of the time the canals on the outer barrier of woods would have fencing, but not always, and almost never did I see fencing around retention ponds. A lot has changed since I left, though. Maybe Bern is speaking from experience based on the area of FL that she lives in. In my experience, only some of the lakes & waterways in OC have complete fenced barriers, with the fencing mostly concentrated on areas of heavy traffic flow - like I4, I95, Beeline Expressway, etc. Several heavily travelled highways have the fencing sporadically placed as well.

Ohhh, I'm sorry Bern. It was me that was confused lol. See, must not have had enough sleep. :)

I agree, the ponds don't have fencing around them. I am thinking when you drive down some of the roads, you see the fencing to keep out animals and such, some times there is water pools, like retention ponds. If she ran off the road in an area as this, you may see some sign of it, but I don't know that is what happened either. I do know, I will not travel alone around Orlando at any time of day or night.

Sorry if I came off harsh, typing and speaking are not the same, hope I didn't offend anyone.

I just thought of something - weather. What was it like that night? I'll Check right now & post. Pls give me a few minutes...

No worries, I do live on the West and things may be different here than Cental FL. I know we had a old woman who got confused and she drove off a pier into the water, it was a week before someone found the car. A person noticed a small bit of damage on the peir IIRC and that is what led to them checking it out. She got confused as they do some times.

Florida has been under extreme drought conditions for a long, long time. Most bodies of water are not deep enough to conceal a vehicle. Three years ago, there was a lake behind my house. Now it's a field. The likelihood of Sandra veering off the road and finding one of the few bodies of water deep enough to hide a vehicle from sight is very, very small. If she did not voluntarily disappear, she may have been carjacked or raped and murdered.
