Does anyone else have a problem with a person with the mental state of a 13 yr old being the parent of a baby? shouldn't there be someone watching over this situation?

I personally do not think my 13 yr old daughter could handle the responsibilty of a baby at this age. She is very smart, but taking care of a baby 24/7 would be miserable to her.

ETA: shannon has those eyes. Those empty sad eyes i see so many times in this type of case. Absolutely heartbreaking.

I'm afraid it will be the mother too. I don't want it to be, but that's what it looks like, at this point.
I look at my little girl (Heck any of my kids) and wonder what goes wrong, where do the instincts to protect ones own comfort and way of life override the need to protect one's own child?

It would depend on whether or not she has been declared incompetent. One can also be incompetent in some areas but not in others. If she were declared incompetent she would have had a guardian appointed to manage her affairs. It doesn't seem that this was the case (so far).

Poor baby, she is more than likely deceased, whats wrong with these parents?? Help is always just a phone call away if the stress of a baby is more than you can handle, better yet, don't have babies at all!! JMO

It's just not fair!! If it is true she hurt the child which the astrology chart points to the parent(s). This could've been avoided. If she is mentally 13 she will never pay for what she has done and that in itself is injustice for this child. Shannon was failed before she was even born.

The above is my opinion based on the unproven fact the mother is the POI, and mentally 13.

Is it true the father is also mentally challenged? What a sad situation if these rumors are true. And has anyone seen the tweet from a relative:

my aunts 7 month old niece went missing Sat. in the am here in Chipley! We know what happened, but not where she is! Please pray!

Why was this thread moved from the missing forum to the Crimes in the News forum? She is still missing, and there is no official information about a crime being committed (yet)?
