Have you seen 53 year old Homer Spires? Officials say he is the worst of the worst. Spires committed his first sex crime in 1977 then years later, Dominick Pape says, he struck again, "it just goes to show these types of offenders do repeat not time line, here's 24 years, again we need to find him."

Of the 3 SO mentioned in the above article 2 have been located and info. updated.
Spires is still at large. I'm game for any info. dug up on him and I'd like to know why the he** he isn't locked up for the rest of his life if he's the worst of the worst and commits acts against children again and again? You would think by now that they would put a rush on any foreign DNA recovered from Somer's body. Aren't all RSO's dna profile in a data base? Here's a link to his flyer:

Off to Wal-Mart and haircuts-no school here today due to fog.

I swear one of the people on the Facebook page was Diena's dad and one was her sister ... let me go there again.

ETA: Well, D. S. Bowling has them on her FB, but is she related to Homer?

Could be I have the wrong Spires - I have only one birth date and I'm not remembering where I got it. Many spires came up, but only this one had a bd of 5/1/56. OR, it may be the right one, but the references given are not familiar. Maybe someone else can research this. Bottom line - I can't link this person to the family.

Pardon me.
RANT ALERT

Can we please stop laboring under the badly mistaken impression that DNA will give us the killer if he has been convicted of something before? It is a dangerous idea.
CODIS is the national database, submission of DNA into CODIS is completely voluntary and the responsibility of the agency handling the case. Many of these guys are never entered into CODIS. Many of them are in state databases, which are useless for a traveling killer. There are thousands of CODIS profiles missing, there are thousands of entries missing from state databases. There are thousands of convicted killers and molestors that were never entered, since the state by state rules on DNA submission vary, some states not requiring it for anything. And there are many that were convicted before any states required DNA databasing.
So, please, stop thinking that no DNA hit means not a sex offender. A hit means something, no hit, means next to nothing, except to rule out people that are specifically tested against DNA evidence found on Somer's body.
Thank you.
Rant over.

picture of Sheegog here.

Don't shoot a nurse.... but I don't think this is related to Somer's case

I would never shoot anyone ;) Except someone who attempted to harm my kids ;)

I don't think so either now. His Warren Parks was in Detroit.

:banghead::banghead::banghead: I am really having a hard time keeping up even though I am entirely caught up on the thread. There is so many good ideas and theories that everyone posts about and it is hard to keep them all straight and on task - mess.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man who police believe attempted to take his own life before setting his Westside house on fire Wednesday evening was facing a aggravated child abuse charge.

Jason Shegog, 28, was found dead when firefighters being protected by SWAT officers entered the burning home in the 4800 block of Anvers Boulevard. According to the police report, a witness who saw Shegog earlier in day said Shegog was bleeding from the wrist and had burns on the upper half of his body.

a 6 week old, skull fractures and broken ribs? If I was the Mom I would have killed him myself and that is no joke.

Okay, sorry...I drug Winne and his neighbor up for nothing. Sorry for any confusion.

Pardon me.

thank you for saying this... it is so true (bbm)!

Once the dna comes back is when the fun and swabbing begins if they do find the profile of the perp... the dna results, when they come back, will most likely be the START of deeper investigation and trying to find a link and just because there is no match immediately does not mean there will not be a match down the road as they investigate deeper/get samples from more persons on the radar..

Thanks nmk!

It was not for no reason - tarabull dug them up as well :) And I still think that Datsun Nissan theory was a good one.

If you look at Greenstreet50's posts there is some info about him. I'll try to find the pic of him at the traffic stop on 10/23. It is somewhere on this thread. Also Cheew's post gave an account of a clerk who noticed suspicious activity and her description matched that of Greenstreet's.

Clarification:

I believe Cheew showed clerk pix of RSO Hall, NOT Greenstreet's traffic stop person. Clerk referred to Hall's pix when saying she recognized him.

haven't heard back regarding anyone who might have brought traffic stop person's pix to clerk.

I pmd admin a request for a subforum. I wasn't sure if anyone had done that yet or just posted their wishes for one here.

Madeline Farmer has a granddaughter Somer's age.

"Like any child, she's an angel. And I didn't know her, but her mother, my heart," said Farmer.

Some mourners brought flowers. Others took one from an arrangement to remember the little girl.

Parents at a public park near Somer's home were keeping a close watch on their children Tuesday afternoon. They all knew a child killer could be hiding in their neighborhood.

"It seemed like a real tight knit community and to have something like this happen so close to home, it is unsettling," said Brad Jacobs, who was there with his two kids.

Florida State College's Kent Campus quickly turned Wednesday's annual fall festival into something bigger.

Somer's mom, Diena, is a student at the Kent Campus.

The school hopes to work with Diena on the details of the scholarship, perhaps offering it to other single moms.

FSC also offered Somer's mom a scholarship for the rest of the semester and next semester.

Thank you for your insightful, informative post (not being snarky-I truly mean it) for I am one that was wondering how accurate the DNA database is!

And post #800 for me! :woohoo:
