And what's up with those reporters? Didn't anyone notice the buzz of police activity at 1080 Gano? Sheesh.

IMO they used dental records to spare her family the ordeal of IDing her. I don't think anything was necessarily done to her face.

ITA not my kids. Seeing that this house sits back from the road makes it even worse. And yep - she could have already been in that dumpster while they were still looking for her. I just pray they catch this sick &*()^*&^&%!!! Or maybe I wish some "fathers" catch him before LE - don't really think a jury in this country would convict a "father" on anything considering this crime.

During a news conference at 4 p.m., a Clay County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said investigators were not releasing the manner or cause of death at this time. She said officials are following many leads and are encouraged, but do not have a person of interest at this time.

She also said state forensic investigators are working in an abandoned house near Somer's school. She said it is near the last place Somer's friends saw her before she disappeared earlier this week.

This article contains some info I hadn't read here. I'll apologize now if I'm repeating (I do that sometimes).

It said she ran ahead after a squabble with her brother. It also said that her Dad is a disabled vet and is in a wheelchair. The search at the dump was on a hunch, and is standard practice. She was found just before an announcement of a $30,000 reward for her safe return. That reward stands for finding whoever is responsible "for putting that small child in the trash".

Just details that were new to me.

If you look up the vacant house on Google Street View you'll see that there is a policeman stationed as what looks to be a crossing guard right there at Gano and Grove Park.

I saw that chili fries.. also, to note on google maps there is a street missing i can't find.. if the map on the online directory that someone gave. sorry forgot who posted it here. that house on 1080 gano ave. has no driveway to the gano ave. road.... this other map shows another road called solomon st. it runs side ways of the house.. I am really confused as to how they park at that house.. I see no driveway and it is really close to school.. alot of trees I mean covered in the aerial view... can hardly see house or yard.. need a good pic of house.. just my 2 cents..

Sadly, might not have been anything done by the perp, but the compactor of the garbage truck & all the trash smashing around her body.

I am still so sick thinking of what happened to Somer.

I think it had been established that she was with her 10 yo sister and twin brother, got in spat and went ahead. When the brother and sister got to the house, she was not there, and SP (mom's boyfriend) and kids searched for an hour. When Somer's mom found out she had not come home, she left work, and stopped at police station to report Somer missing.

Her dad lives in NC is recovering from car accident (perhaps being in wheel chair is not permanent); traveling is not easy.

According to the Sheriff, one of the detectives made the suggestion of tracking the garbage trucks before they got to the landfill in GA. I believe LE followed them for 40-some miles.

Each detective was assigned a truck and watched as the garbage was dumped.

Wish we knew more about Mom's "friend", Sean. Was he actually living with the family, or just visiting?

Doesn't have word's to express what she's feeling. Still doesn't believe it's happening.

Missing her. They were really alike, similar personalities, misses holding her. Knows Somer knew she loved her.
