I read somewhere (but WHERE? cannot find it now), that the number of sex offenders was related to the three parties in the area in total.

Plus the French register is for the Police and also contains everybody they may have questioned about a case at a certain time. IMHO this differs from the American register.

MAËLYS DISAPPEARANCE: STILL NO LEADS, AND CONFUSION ABOUT POSSIBLE PRESENCE OF PERSONS ON THE REGISTER DURING THE EVENING

FranceSoir

While the investigation into Maëlys' disappearance reveals no new facts, the announcement of the presence at the wedding of several people whose names appear on a register that lists the perpetrators of sexual offences causes confusion. The brother of Nordahl Lelandais says that the gendarmes probably miss other leads by ignoring this fact.

This is information that throws a little more confusion into the case of Maëlys de Araujo's disappearance. No formal evidence has been discovered against Nordahl Lelandais, who still claims his innocence, only suspected for the moment because of a DNA trace of the child found in his vehicle. But the press has announced that no fewer than a dozen people in the surroundings of the wedding party, where the 9-year-old girl disappeared on the night of 26-27 August, appear in a database that may include sex offenders.

"There were 10 of the guests at that wedding who were registered for sexual offenses. And they weren't friends of Nordhal's. The gendarmes should also look elsewhere instead of focusing on my brother, " explains Sven Lelandais, Nordahl's older brother, in an interview with the Dauphiné Libéré. However, his statement is not entirely accurate: the 10 or so people in question are not only invitees among the 180 people present at the wedding, but also from the neighbours of the multipurpose hall, outside the commune of Pont-de-Beauvoisin in Isère.

The register in question is the FIJAISV, which lists the perpetrators of sexual or violent offences. Of course, it includes persons who have been convicted, but also those who have been indicted, who have accepted a settlement or even a decision not to proceed to trial, who have been acquitted of a sexual or violent crime.

In other words, the 10 people are not necessarily guilty of anything, and if they have been convicted, it is not necessarily for sexual cause or for paedophilia. Remember: Nordahl Lelandais himself already has a criminal record for events related to drugs and arson at a restaurant in Paladru (Isère), not far from Pont-de-Beauvoisin.

No information has yet been provided on any other possible leads from the investigators. Contacted by FranceSoir, the prosecutor's office of the Grenoble TGI "refuses to confirm the information on possible persons who are in the database". He added that: "Magistrates will not communicate any more until we have new elements". At the moment, this is not the case.

COULD NORDAHL LELANDAIS BE RELEASED DUE TO LACK OF NEW EVIDENCE?

FranceSoir
http://www.francesoir.fr/societe-fa...enquete-pont-de-beauvoisin?platform=hootsuite

Disappearance of Maëlys - This Thursday 21, it has been over three weeks since the nine-year-old Maëlys disappeared from Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère). Nordahl Lelandais has also been indicted for kidnapping for over two weeks. But he continues to deny the facts, and the few troubling elements that accuse him can still seem meagre at times to accuse a man of the worst. Furthermore, the investigation in the area did not yield anything.

Although the secrecy of the investigation does not allow us to know the exact status of the investigation, yet would appear to be stuck. Therefore, the question arises of a possible release of Nordahl Lelandais, the only suspect but probably also the only hope of obtaining information.

Pre-trial detention is only possible if the person is indicted for an offence or a crime punishable by more than three years in prison. This is largely the case in this case, as the abduction is punishable by 20 years' imprisonment, 30 in the event of the death of the victim (which is not proven here).

In this case, the total period of detention is limited to two years. Nordahl Lelandais could remain behind bars until September 2019. However, he could also be released earlier.

Pre-trial detention can only be ordered and maintained under certain conditions. It must be necessary for at least one of the following reasons:

keeping evidence or physical evidence,

to prevent pressure on witnesses, victims or their families,

to prevent fraudulent consultation between the person under investigation and his co-authors or accomplices, to prevent them from inventing an alibi, for example

to ensure that the person charged remains at the disposal of the court,

to end the offence or prevent its renewal,

to end the exceptional and persistent disturbance of public order generated by the case. This disorder cannot result from the mere media coverage of the case. This ground is applicable only for a crime.

The lawyer of Nordahl Lelandais could therefore invoke the fact that none of these conditions apply or propose an alternative situation (electronic wristband for example) to have his client released. The prosecutor's office itself could decide to lift his detention, and his case must be reviewed every six months.

In all circumstances, however, and unless the investigation is terminated, Nordahl Lelandais should remain available to investigators.

It should be noted that the European Court of Human Rights regularly reminds the French justice system of its slowness, and thus the length of pre-trial detention. Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights states that "everyone has the right to a fair, public and timely hearing".

I am still wondering about the timeline.

At 02.45 hrs the grandmother speaks with Maëlys.
At 03.00 hrs her mother cannot find her.
At 03.10 hrs the dj makes an announcement and the search starts.
At some moment after 03.00 hrs the mother goes outside and sees Nordahl.

Assuming the times are right, and the grandmother did speak with her, there was hardly any opportunity for NL to abduct Maëlys. He did NOT take her during the time he was absent and went home to change his short, because when he returned, she was still there. Between 02.45 and 03.00 hrs the girl somehow vanished from the room where the children were sleeping to the entrance of the parking lot where she got into a car and her trail ends.
All without being seen.

I would like to see a floorplan of the hall. It was said that the parking had only one entrance, but what about the building? Could she have gone to the bathroom? Did she have to pass through the room where the adults were dancing?

I keep on wondering about the timeline.

The grandmother is the last one to speak with Maëlys, at 02.45 hrs.
The mother notices that Maëlys is missing at 03.00 hrs.
At 03.10 hrs the entire party is alerted.
Mother goes outside and sees Nordahl Lelandais who does not seem interested in the search.
The Gendarmerie arrives shortly before 04.00 hrs, Nordahl Lelaqndais has left the venue shortly before that.

So how did he do it (assuming that he did)?

Did he abduct Maëlys between 02.45 and 03.00 hrs and keep her in his car while everybody was looking for her?

If he did, that would have been very risky. Someone might decide to search the cars. If Maëlys was only subdued, she might wake up and start making noises. Or if they were playing a game like hide and seek, she might answer her mother when she heard her mother calling her name.

It was said that he left before the Gendarmerie arrived. He could not possibly know WHEN they would be arriving. They could have been there within 5 minutes if they had been nearby.

IMHO it is hardly possible that Maëlys disappeared between 02.45 hrs and 03.00 hrs and that Nordahl Lelandais was involved as the sole perpetrator.

I see 3 alternative scenarios:

1. the statement of the grandmother is not correct
2. Nordahl Lelandais had an accomplice who took Maëlys away in a car at the entrance of the parking lot
3. Someone else took Maëlys

rbbm.
If the poi did it..
Maybe she was drugged, she could then be taken and hidden anywhere and retrieved later.
Children can be sold for a great deal of money, imo, maybe she was sold to someone else as a favour, or for money owed?
Maybe somebody found a way to put M's scent into the car so the poi would be the fall guy?
speculation, imo.

FORMER GIRLFRIENDS OF THE SUSPECT TELL CHILLING STORY

LeDauphine.com
http://www.ledauphine.com/isere-nor...-manipulateur-selon-ses-ex-pont-de-beauvoisin

Several young women, who have shared Nordahl Lelandais' life in the past, the number one suspect in the case of Maëlys' disappearance, were heard by the investigators of the Grenoble SR.

According to information from the Dauphiné Libéré, their statements are chilling. These young women describe him as "manipulative","liar" and "violent". The ex-military would have been very violent, especially during the romantic break-ups. "They all tell the same story: Nordahl tracked them down, harassed them, followed them in the car and tried to run into them."

According to the Dauphiné Libéré, one of these young women even confided that she had been taken into the woods by Nordahl,"to explain himself" according to him. "I thought I was living my last hour," the young woman told the gendarmes.

Asked about these new elements, the suspect's new lawyer, Alain Jakubowicz of the Lyon Bar, has refused to comment on the case.

NORDAHL TRIED TO ESCAPE THE GENDARMES BEFORE HIS SECOND ARREST

FranceSoir
http://www.francesoir.fr/societe-fa...nfraction-sexuelle-enquete-pont-de-beauvoisin

Nordahl Lelandais, who was indicted for the "abduction" and "sequestration" of Maëlys, allegedly attempted to flee the gendarmes shortly before being arrested on 3 September. According to a report released by Franceinfo on Friday 22nd, he was followed by investigators on that famous day, even though he had already been detained for the first time. He would have spotted the gendarmes and attempted to flee before being arrested.

Suspicious behaviour but it would be hasty to link it to a possible responsibility for the abduction of the little girl. Indeed, in addition to the possibility that Nordahl Lelandais simply became frightened, knowing that he was on the radar of the investigators, he was also known to them because he was using and selling narcotics. It is therefore possible that he wanted to flee, thinking he was being tailed for this activity.

Nordahl Lelandais has been remanded to Saint-Quentin-Fallavier Prison and placed in solitary confinement after receiving death threats from his fellow prisoners.

While investigation and searches seem to be stalling, for the time being he appears to be the only one who can give new information. But he has always claimed his innocence and would not have asked to be heard again since his detention.

According to Franceinfo, the investigators are believed to be convinced of his involvement in the disappearance, but do not rule out the presence of an accomplice or a sponsor. Nor would they neglect the clues for the defence of the 34-year-old male.

Yeah right, arrested two minutes ago for the disappearance of a child, but he ran away from the police because he was worried about being picked up for drug related offences?? Totally plausible alright..... not.

I wonder if they could make him a deal? Tell them where Maëlys is at, and the worst he will do is life in prison. Or, go to trial, go to prison, and go into general population. Would he be able to survive? Is my harsh side showing?

IMO that DNA in the car is the key. This child was in his car. Unseen by any other witnesses.

His explanation about the dogs, and Maëlys entering the rear of the car, on the passenger side, is telling the world what a devious liar they are dealing with.

From the link (In French, translated by ZaZara on Page 11, Post #162):

http://www.ledauphine.com//isere-no...cherches-pont-de-beauvoisin-isere-disparition

According to the Dauphiné Libéré, the DNA trace of the 9-year-old girl, mixed with the suspect's, was found on the light switch on his Audi A3. This button is located on the left side of the steering wheel.

However, the ex-serviceman of Domessin ended up admitting to having "opened the front passenger door and lowered the seat. The children got into the backseat, looked into the trunk to checked if the dogs were not in the trunk. Then they came out and everyone went back into the party hall again.

Four (4) weeks have passed since that joyous wedding was invaded by evil. This man needs to come clean! For his sake, and his soul, if he believes in a religion.

CAR OF SUSPECT WAS FLASHED DURING THE NIGHT OF THE WEDDING

Actu17
https://actu17.fr/isere-disparition...ec-sa-voiture-au-cours-de-la-nuit-du-mariage/

A new element was brought to the attention of the investigators this Friday while little Maëlys is still missing. Suspect Nordahl L. was flashed in his car on the night of the wedding.

Nordahl L., the ex-military suspected of being responsible for Maëlys' disappearance, was flashed by an automatic radar in his car, well beyond the speed limit, on the night of the wedding.

Nordahl L.'s Audi A3 is the one in which DNA traces were found of the 9-year-old Maëlys, who disappeared during a wedding party on the night of 26-27 August.

The Dauphiné Libéré reveals this information, and explains that the photo taken by the automatic radar is being analyzed to determine if the man was alone on board or if the little girl was present in the vehicle. This photo could therefore be of great importance for the further investigation.

As I'm new I'd to just clarify (without knowing how to cold test, or quote properly), that being "flashed" means being captured on a speeding camera, in that you were driving too fast and your photo was taken and you'll get a fine in the post.

(I just wanted to put this up in case anyone else doesn't know what "flashed means)

Notice the pants. Whatever happened there? Did he roll them up, on the inside or what? And the image on the T-shirt, is that a piglet? One of the Three little Pigs, and the Big Bad Woolf?

Anyway, don't wear these pants or don't go to parties wearing them if you are afraid of stains.

I can't tell what's on his shirt. I can't even see the scratch marks from the gardening, so it must just be a bad photo. Or maybe he was gardening after the wedding. Or was it after the car wash? I'm sure there's a good explanation.

The photo of the suspect's Audi A3 has been in the hands of the investigators for the past two weeks. An expertise should quickly determine whether the girl was on board.

Several searches were conducted on the side of the Gorges de Chailles, on the road where the car was caught speeding on camera.

That article must have been edited since this morning. Now they are saying the car was not "flashed," and there is no mention of the road to the Gorges.

Mais, contrairement aux informations rapportées par le quotidien, le parquet de Grenoble dément « catégoriquement » ce samedi que le véhicule de Nordahl L. ait été « flashé par un radar automatique » le soir du mariage où la fillette a disparu.
