Infant Murder Case, Rape Trial of Former NFL Star To Be First Two Live, Gavel-to-Gavel Trials on the New Court TV As Iconic Network Returns May 8

May 07, 2019

"ATLANTA, May 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- A murder trial reminiscent of the Casey Anthony case and the rape trial of a former top NFL player will be the first two trials to air live, gavel-to-gavel on the new Court TV, which launches across multiple platforms on May 8 at 9:00 a.m. ET....

In addition, the judge who presided over the Casey Anthony murder trial, Belvin Perry, will appear live, in studio on Closing Arguments with Vinnie Politan on the network's first day, at 6:00 p.m. (ET), while R. Kelly's lawyer Steve Greenberg will be Court TV lead anchor Politan's in studio guest on Closing Arguments on Fri. May 10.

Court TV's first live trial coverage will be a murder case just outside of Atlanta: In October of 2017, Christopher McNabb and Cortney Bell called 911 to report their newborn baby, Caliyah, missing from their home. McNabb went on television and tearfully begged and pleaded for his daughter's return. The following day, Caliyah's body was found. Prosecutors later said the body was wrapped in clothing and placed in a bag belonging to McNabb and that the baby had died due to blunt force trauma to the head. McNabb was arrested and charged with the murder; Bell was charged with the same crime three months later.

The second trial Court TV will air live in its entirety will be California v. Kellen Winslow II, a former NFL Player who is accused of multiple rapes in San Diego, California.

Court TV is also planning wall-to-wall coverage of the rape trial of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in New York later this year. Court TV has helped lead the charge for media access in the courtroom for that trial...."

Dad now has a tattoo over his left eye of his dead daughter's name. He is as smug as I have ever seen a person and seems to get very angry at times during questions of witnesses.
This is the guy who made our blood boil before Caliyah was found. Made me want to reach through the TV and punch him during the news interviews.

Did anyone see the photos of the camouflage jacket with the bong? Not 100% sure but jacket looked like the one McNabb was wearing on the day of 911 call.

A Newton County man accused in his 2-week-old daughter’s death acted nervous and fidgety after the child was reported missing, a deputy testified Tuesday.

Newton County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Hicks responded to the family’s home on Oct. 7, 2017 after the baby’s mother, Cortney Bell, reported her missing. About 30 minutes after Hicks arrived, Christopher McNabb showed up looking disheveled, the deputy testified. McNabb said at the time that he had been searching for 2-week-old Caliyah. Her body was discovered 900 yards from the family’s front door.

Opening statements began Tuesday morning in McNabb and Bell’s trial, followed by witness testimony.
