They took that left on Edgewood Ave SE and you'd turn left right off that to get to Grady. I'd have to go drive there myself to prove it but I'd wager there are almost certainly signs right there on that road indicating Grady.

I guess it's possible! But I'm just certainly surprised if there weren't. I've had two children in the last few years down at Emory Midtown and have also gone to the other Emory she was taken to, multiple times in the last few years. Once for surgery and a couple of specialists visits. The routes my husband and I took (though not the one they took) did have signs for Grady and Children's Healthcare. I wouldn't think the way they took was that out of the way.

And I'd find it hard to believe someone would actually know their way to Emory University Hospital from the area and not have any idea of the others they were passing by. Where she was taken is a much more confusing area in my experience to figure out. So many Emory related buildings all over the place. But they were supposedly more aware of that and how to get there?

We only go down in that area a few times a year. So how do people with multiple homes down in Atlanta and traveling not infrequently down there have no idea the closest hospitals? Earlier in the thread his lawyer is quoted as saying that homeless people are known to congregate in the area, as a reason for him pulling out his gun to begin with. So he knows enough rumors to find it not safe in the area but doesn't know what's actually in the area like the three nearest hospitals along their route?

Couple that with no working phones supposedly...it's just not believable to me at all.

I totally agree with you beatrixpotter but I am trying to think like a member of the jury and only take the evidence that they are given in court and I worry that so far there is not enough evidence to prove without a reasonable doubt that this was murder.

I'm afraid you are probably right. And I'm just arguing from another angle. But I agree it would be hard to say it was beyond reasonable doubt. :/

Defense attorney leads Dani Jo Carter on why #TexMcIver's gun was in a plastic grocery bag in the console: So, if somebody was breaking into a car which happens all the time in Atlanta, & you don't automatically see a gun, that might prevent a gun theft, correct? Yes @wsbradio

At the hospital, you left to go with Atlanta Police. An officer named Wiker was driving while you were in the front seat? You told them what happened? No, just the route. Remember telling Wiker, "There were a lot of scary people at the intersections?" State objects @wsbradio

Sole Shooting Witness Says Tex McIver Offered to Forgive Loan
Dani Jo Carter testified Tuesday that she still owed about $2,000 on a $15,000 loan from Diane McIver.

"...Carter testified she still owed her longtime friend more than $2,000 on a $15,000 loan from Diane McIver. Carter said a monthly payment was automatically deducted from her bank account.

Carter said that, after Diane McIver’s death, her automatic payment was returned because McIver’s bank accounts were locked. Carter said she received a note from McIver’s administrative assistant at U.S. Enterprises, where McIver was the company’s president, reminding her she owed a monthly payment.

Carter said she then called Tex McIver.

“I told him I didn’t have any intention of not paying that loan,” she said. McIver replied “that he was going to ease up on it and for me not to worry about it,” she said.

That conversation took place weeks after Diane McIver’s death and after McIver suggested that Carter not reveal to police that she was the sole witness to the shooting...."

I've lived in Atlanta for almost 20 years now - Midtown at one time and now the northern Suburbs. Everyone, and I mean everyone knows that Grady is where you go for trauma, not Emory. Emory is know for cancer research, Grady for trauma. To be racing through Morningside telling the driver to slow down was very surprising to me. And to never call 911 to let the hospital know that a gunshot victim was on the way is not understandable.

I recently went to a safety talk for Girl Scout camping (for my kids) and the first thing they tell you is that if anyone in your party is bit by a snake, the first thing you do is get them to GRADY, it's the only hospital in the ATL area with the anti-venom.

I've been watching the trial in bits and pieces but when I realized that even Dani Jo was borrowing money from her friend, Diane, it's just so sad. I think it's a tale of greed and murder......

thanks for the insight...it seems from the medical testimony I have listened to so far that being taken immediately to the trauma center they probably could have saved her. I agree on the greed and murder...there is much more we do not know.

Dani Jo really presented herself as a loyal friend of 40 years, but then as testimony goes on you hear that she was an alcoholic that Diane cut off all contact with and didn't speak to for years or even invite her to her wedding to Tex. And then she was borrowing money from Diane to buy a car?

Seems like Diane unfortunately surrounded herself with people that may have had ulterior motives......

i find it odd that Dani Jo spent more time with Tex and Diane than her own husband. All of these characters seemed to be on the take...Stringer lived at the"outlaw house" at the Ranch and on and on.

danny boy did good? I don't know I suspected they were in on it together at one time..The thing that bothers me is that I don't see how he could have planned this unless the driver was in on it and took this particular exit ..........then again....my sister has that sleep disorder and has gut punched the hubby into tears in the middle of the night..haha....could this have happned with the gun..........then again, he's not an idiot, he knew and DIANE knew he should NOT be asleep with that gun if he really had this sleep disorder......but he's tried to cover his tracks from the beginnning and what really gets me is.......he's an attorney in ATL ...HE KNEW where to take her for gunshot woulnds and went to the cancer center?! WTH? In addition, he never called 911 and he never told the nurses at the ER that she'd been SHOT...the ones who were trying to get her out of the car in her unconscious state but he told someone when first arriving who was NOT a medical professional, who was that? ...........Poor woman was miffed, she didn't even want to see him before she went into surgery, she knew he killed her at that point, she knew she was going to die.....so tragic

she had not left her godson in her will.............there is another will...., dani jo was not in it either since their reuniting but we KNOW she would have left much to her godson

there were legal papers that Diane never signed, that would leaveTEX her half of the ranch, but tex had signed them.........there was disagreement in who was getting her half of the ranch in the event of her death...........anyone remember that? Why had she not signed them? Why would she? Now tex gets the ranch. Tex also ransacked her office at cory and took ALL her belongings....I would have considered that trespassing on his part, the secretary assistant that says she printed and filed her new will, now is gone, likely why he cleaned out her office days after her death before anyone else got in there? but who would have revised her will and not come forward about it?
