I just want to make sure he's dead. I am the resident conspiracy theorist. And no, there is no logical reason to believe his death was faked, I just am still in shock at how quick it all went down.

ugh with all the unexpected turns of events in this case, I will be glad to hear his funeral is done, no dramatics, surprises.

As far as how would the eulogy go, goodness....my best guess is a bunch of crap about forgiveness..I mean really, what else could they say? He will be remembered by a few silly teenagers on fb that think he is a cult hero or something, his family who probably loves some things about him, and the rest of the world that is thrilled to see him gone? I do feel bad for his family on SOME LEVEL, but not the ones that are smug online. The one. That one gets on every nerve I have. To be honest, I feel worse for them that he killed Jorelys that I do for them that he died. Sorry, I am being very honest.

I definately think he is dead, but after the quick guilty plea, Lance resigning, then his suicide, nothing would shock me..but I would expect more like an outburst or a protest at the funeral than I would him sitting up in the casket.

That made me almost spit my drink out!!

I meant more along the lines of, ok open casket, yeah I see him in there, good I know he's dead; as opposed to he was cremated, no you can't see the body, and now I have no proof.

Ask my mom, I swore for a good 15 years she lied that my dad was dead. I never saw the body, he was cremated, so go ahead and prove me wrong. I just finally gave up and believed her.

Personally, I have zero interest in what his family says or thinks about RB today, and I don't really care what they do with his corpse. Unless it involves a dumpster.

1. He testified that he picked her because he had seen her rollerskating in the complex, and then found her rollerskate outside, he then took it, took a picture of it, and used the picture to lure her to the vacant. So in other words, he made an opportunity. It seems that he had been viewing child *advertiser censored* that same week (according to indictment) and had molested children in the past (according to GBI statement post-plea), so it seems that it wasn't that she was targeted for being her, just targeted because he snached a toy of hers that was left in an area from which he could grab it. Of the many reasons we all want our kids to bring the toys inside the house or garage, we all have another reason--a rapist molestor might grab it and use it to lure our children. Horrible!!
2. Do you mean the 'friends' he was with Friday night, smoking pot and or meth and going to Walmart? There was no mention that he confessed to them, or that that they were aware of it at the time. We have had the grandmother of the roomate post on fb about how he was supposedly freaking out and couldn't sleep, who knows if that was caused by nerves, guilt, or METH...My personal opinion is that they might have been suspicious enough to give police some info that made him stand out in those early days, he was questioned more than once Friday through Monday, he was then under surveilence on the Tuesday, and arrested on Wednesday. But no, I personally don't think there is any reason to believe he was bragging or sharing details with his friends.

I don't mind answering your questions at all, but a friendly sidenote..all of this and more is in the first 4 threads here, I am sure you would find quite a bit of information that would make much of it clearer. Next rainy day, check it all out...it was a fast moving case and is condensed compared to the cases with no arrests that have over 50 threads..

Btw, I really wish there was a way to stop child *advertiser censored*. It makes me sick to my stomach to even hear about it. My husband took a case and this guy had over 700 pictures on his computer. It's so disturbing beyond idk what. I think child molesters should be locked away n have their well u know chopped off. Jmo.

McCollum lived across from the playground where the killer, maintenance man Ryan Brunn, lured Rivera with a picture of her missing skate to an abandoned apartment where he sexually molested and killed her, cutting her throat and bludgeoning her with the skate. The apartment is directly below McCollum’s. He was home at the time and heard nothing.

I feel bad for him...I couldn't live with that for sure.

I think that he could've lived with himself easily had he not gotten caught and totally nailed by the evidence. I think that he couldn't live as a convicted child molester and killer in prison, which is a totally different thing.

I do hope more comes to light about his past though. His past is such a blank.

Agree. He would not have killed himself if he had not gotten caught. When he had JR in the bathtub :tears:, he didn't release her & then go kill himself. He MURDERED and lied to protect himself. I don't think there was ever an ounce of remorse for the victim or her family. His suicide a cowardly act driven by fear for his own :behind:

I always have to wonder where the parents of these children are whose pictures are being taken. As much as we want to punish the pedophiles, we should also look to the even seedier side of child *advertiser censored* - those who are allowing their children to be exploited. We don't hear much about that side of it.

Not to stray off topic, but my daughter had a close friend who has since moved, and the mom and I became close and she told me the worse story I have heard regarding the child *advertiser censored*. She was divorced and the father had weekend visitation with her child when the child was 3-5 years old, the mother had never noticed anything strange in her child's attitude or physical self, and a child *advertiser censored* ring was busted up and LE came to tell her that her ex husband and his parents (the child's PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS!) were major players in the ring, and her daughter was in MANY pictures all over the internet..some depicting graphic hands-on molestation, not just pictures of the child alone. There was a drawn out court case, all participants were prosecuted..but that story sure stuck with me. I am still in contact with the mom, they are in a different state now, but on a brighter note the child is now a pre-teen, has received extensive counseling, and is healthy and happy with her mother and maternal grandparents taking an active, caring role in her continued recovery.
It all came up because when the daughter was spending time at my house, her mom just wanted to let me know what she had been exposed to, and that she may be more sexually aware than other kids her age. I never noticed any strange behavior from her at all, but I did let my kids know to be careful what they said or did with her (like no asking about her daddy) because 'bad people did very wrong things to her.' Poor baby, she stays at the top of my positive thoughts list always.

I find it very odd that the Corrections Commissioner would lie about the GBI's involvement in the investigation of Pruitt. I'm having a really hard time believing Brunn killed himself. But who cares, right? Anyone familiar with the case knows his family didn't bother to come to the sentencing - heck, I can't find anything at all about his family online. Clearly no one cares that this happened to him - like when a serial killer picks prostitutes, no one is going to make a fuss. I just don't buy that Brunn killed himself. This entire case has been too clean and easy where justice is concerned. Wrapped up all nice and tidy like we'd love to see all of these cases.

Personally, I don't care. If someone did kill him, I will not be one demanding justice and prosecution of the person that hypothetically killed him. I wouldn't send flowers or give them a high-five for it, either, but I chalk it up to karma being a (w)itch. I believe the suicide is likely, he does not seem like one that was ready to jump in there and make new friends at prison. I agree that if he committed suicide it was because he knew how bleak his future was, and wanted to have some control over it.

I wonder the same things- the guy who my husband busted said he got them on the Internet no personal kids that he knew. I'm so very careful of pictures I post of my son just because of creeps like this. I will not post pictures of him in the tub or anything like that. Some parents post pictures and not think about the dangers. I think it's so disturbing all together makes me cringe! Just think what kind of person Brunn was! It's just sick that's all there is to it just sick and I'm so sorry what happened to this child. If only he would have killed himself before!

Question #1 .... RB was lying about not having touched her sexually. The ME determined that RB inserted an unknown object into her anus. His 'confession' also failed to mention when and why he stabbed her (non-fatally) in the face and chest.

For the answer to # 2, I don't think they've released exactly what he attached the sweatshirt to and exactly how he 'hung' himself, but you can hang yourself from a sitting, kneeling and prone position.
My guess would be the pipes near the sink or toilet, and from a sitting position on the floor, then leaning forward or laying down. People do these maneuvers all the time (and accidentally kill themselves) for autoerotic asphyxiation. (purposefully cutting off thier own oxygen while masturbating.)
