I'll send off a e-mail to NamUs wondering if her case was removed by accident. They will forward it, but from there who knows.........

I sent an e-mail to Pamela Reed. I got an automated reply indicating that she will be out of the office until Dec 1.

One of the girls in this picture rally looks like here. Not sure which one the Facebook page belongs to. Could she have been wearing a sister or friends pants? Goodwill? Other hand-me-down?

From Doe Network:

Patricia Jean Schneider
Missing since July 31, 1982 from Pedley, Riverside County, California
Classification: Endangered Missing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vital Statistics

Age at Time of Disappearance: 25 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'4"; 115 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Straight, shoulder length blond/strawberry hair; blue eyes.
Clothing: A cocktail waitress uniform.
AKA: Patti

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Circumstances of Disappearance
At 3:45 AM on Sunday July 31, 1982, Patricia Schneider, after completing work as a cocktail waitress at the Palomino Station, an Indian Hills restaurant and nightclub, made a call from the Circle K market on Limonite in Pedley (between Riverside and Mira Loma) reporting her car had broken down.
A clerk at the Circle K stated he saw two white males with sandy hair in the parking lot while Schneider made calls from the phone.
Between 5 and 6 that same morning, a Riverside county sheriff found Schneider's car on fire near the intersection of Van Buren Boulevard and Doolittle Avenue. The area was searched and no traces of Patti were found.

Bringing this post forward for consideration.

Picture didn't show up so I am posting link to the Charley Project.

Is it too morbid of me to ask you to post the pic. of this Jane doe in the hospital with the vent?

crystallove just sent me another photo of this Jane Doe that is much more clear than the one that I had. The photo shows her in the hospital with a ventilator attached, but her facial structure is much more clear.

She has a much narrower bridge of the nose, a broader tip of the nose, and a bit more brow ridge and eyes that are more sunken than I had depicted previously.

I revised the recon again. This is more representative of how she looked.

I can also see very clearly that she is not Christine Huyer. The bridge of her nose is much narrower than Christine's.

Was replying to this post.

Too bad they don't put the size of the jeans, the size of the sweatshirt, shoes etc.... It would be nice to know that for comparisons.

Why would she be holding a pillow if she was hanging onto the back of a truck and fell off. Seems pretty odd to me.

No, the photo is not too morbid. I'll go ahead and post it (along with a re-post of the reconstruction).

Wow, you are quick! Thank you. Poor girl...

Patricia S. went missing in 82, this Jane doe died in 85 right...? What am I missing here? It doesn't make sense for them to be the same person. I don't think Patti lived through whatever horror found her that night and then burned her car. Sadly...

:offtopic:

I'm wondering if those two guys were Shermantine and Herzog. They would have been a little young at that time, and that is quite far south of their stomping grounds. But it sure is their M.O.

About that laundry tag.

It's been my experience that someone who is in some sort of long term care, like a long physical rehab or such, has their clothing marked. I know my father had his jammies marked, and he was only in the facility for 2 weeks. They do that so that folks can make sure they get the right clothes back from the laundry.

My father was in the hospital for 2 weeks. He came in to the hospital in his jams and robe and slippers, and all were marked with his last name and first initial when he was sent to the rehab. I brought him new jams and a new robe, and those got marked by his day nurse immediately upon receipt.

Now, if I think about this blessed UID, and put into the mix a name in her clothing, and add to that having a 'pillow' like that at a "hotel", could it possibly be that she had a hospital pillow with her?

I'm wondering...and beginning to think that she had been in a hospital stay (lengthy or otherwise), had been released, and she was perhaps homeless and/or hitchhiking when she met her death. Illegal drugs, or mental illness, or indeed really any illness which doesn't leave an outward mark of hospitalization...many different kinds of those.

And records would be closed.

Hm.

Well I probably can't be much help as I have no idea how/where to start comparing. I have read the thread though and it saddens me. There have been numerous attempts to contact various people about this UID throughout the years and the lack of response is just horrible. I hope WS can help give her her name back.

ETA:
Here is another article about the exhumation...http://www.albanyherald.com/news/2012/sep/21/gbi-deputies-exume-body-baker-county/
Has the Coroners name who claims to have never let it go basically. We need to try and contact that person to at least get an update! (found his contact info and will send an email now) I also just contacted the BCSO and asked for an update. Hopefully I am not stepping over some boundary as I have never done this before.

QUESTION:
If DNA was extracted as they hoped to do...do they have a system they can run it through to see if it matches DNA of missing persons (if there is even a system for that)?

How can u zoom in on the article. I'm on my phone so maybe that's why.

I'm curious about the niece one. What was her name?

A picture of the Britannia jeans and the name written n them would be so nice.
