Praying for Quinton and that justice will be done…
IMO, unfortunately there are plenty of young woman who find themselves in the same position as she is in. Through NO fault of their own. They bust their azzes and they make it. They get up out of bed every morning, take their babies to Early Head Start, Head Start or other government funded preschools go to school, go to work and they just break the cycle. I’ve see it over and over again. Then there are the others. The ones who sit bewildered waiting for something or someone too better them to save them. I don’t know which one L is, perhaps she doesn’t either. It’s time too find out.wow, read the fine print, the penalties. Loss of assets, professional licenses including DL, A 22 year old woman who has chosen to put herself into that position....2 kids to pay child support on, eviction and facing housing bills, another kid with BF, even with the least expensive baby sitter on earth, she must feel very trapped. And if the BF walks, who would be paying all that if she doesn't work. (Not that I think someone with 3 kids under 3 years can easily work). But what else are her relatives supposed to do? I wouldn't want to be anywhere near all those decisions.
Absolutely. The grandmother certainly knew her daughter had issues, but who would ever think something like this would happen? The Grandma certainly understands that her daughter has issues. She took custody of the kids because their Bio-mom was not doing her job. As far as what she thought would happen?
My guess:
The neighbor would be there to care for the children as always and she would come home to a house with all of her grandkids, alive and healthy like she left them
JMO
I think it is very clear which one L is. I am not puzzled at all. Her chances ran out with the 1st one she abandoned to her mother's care unless there was clear evidence of her trying to be a responsible parent. If so, I would love to see it and be proven wrong.IMO, unfortunately there are plenty of young woman who find themselves in the same position as she is in. Through NO fault of their own. The way I'm reading this situation (so JMO) the grandmother doesn't trust her daughter to take proper care of the kids when she's not there to supervise. It makes sense that the best way to protect the children and make sure they are being properly supervised is to leave them in the care of a responsible caregiver while she's at work. Apparently that isn't L and D.This may have already been discussed but these things were red flags for me (1) Quinton lives with Mom and boyfriend and the grandparents but his grandparents have legal custody and (2) the caregiver watches him early in the morning even if the mother is not working. Childcare is not cheap - I don't understand why he would need a babysitter if his Mom was home and not working (unless she works nights and might be sleeping that early in the morning). Praying for this little guy. Georgia, FBI searching for missing toddler whose babysitter reports 'odd' text before disappearance
the Bf’s text at 5:29 in the morning certainly is a red flag and then for the bf to text back around 9 a.m. asking the babysitter if she had seen Q, is even more conspicuous. Did he even leave to go to work that morning? That 5:30-ish text to the babysitter is what pinpoints the case for me. The rest could be reasonably explained away as an accident or even - God forbid - a home invasion and kidnapping. But that text...
JMO.
I have high hopes that they will find him, though I suspect it will be in sad circumstances. They’ve got 40 FBI agents and it looks like they may have started up the luminol today … I wish they’d get 2,000 in basic training from Parris Island and Ft. Beaufort for three days, on buses daily, and walk the woods and the waterways around this house in lockstep. Literally elbow to elbow. Also think this house needs to go down to the studs inside, garage completely emptied, crawl spaces crawled. I don’t think this little guy is far from the house. I pray they find him. They've called in what has been described as an "army of law enforcement," to include the FBI. We've heard about drones, horses, dogs, helicopters
I mean, I don't know what more you do. And I don't for a second believe they're searching for a child who is simply "missing."
I think they're probably reluctant to do that because of the criminal investigation aspect (they don't want people inadvertently destroying evidence).I have high hopes that they will find him, though I suspect it will be in sad circumstances. Sadly, they went the “fence the whole yard in” route to get around having to fence in just the pool I’m guessing MOOFor those who were wondering about the pool being fenced...https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/535-Buckhalter-Rd_Savannah_GA_31405_M53220-18622

Valid enough, as theories goWhat if the boyfriend is just doing as he is told?
Leilani mumbles that she will be home all day and will keep all the kids (HA!). So he texts the sitter, under L's direction. He goes to work, she rolls over and sleeps.
She calls him around 9, because things ain't right. She says she will look for Q, He needs to call the sitter.
He doesn't necessarily have to be in on it.
Not that I really believe in this theory. You never know.
Wow … thank you for posting this … the white piano. Something about the white piano gave me chills.Sadly, they went the “fence the whole yard in” route to get around having to fence in just the pool I’m guessing MOO
They could be looking for an item of clothing or a shoe, etc.Well, maybe they have reason to know that something was in the pool, was then taken out and away from the area, and are looking for bits of evidence that they could not see before pumping.
If they find him in the woods, an East Georgia jury will vote to convict, relatively regardless of defendant. Vermont, this is not. I worry less about evidentiary preservation and more about proving an outcome. Curious about your take on it, @MassGuy - very much admire your thinking and your posts.I think they're probably reluctant to do that because of the criminal investigation aspect (they don't want people inadvertently destroying evidence).
Hopefully phone or vehicle data gives this person away.
