We know so little of the actual family history or dynamics here.

Why was the daughter on probation?

Why did Grandma have custody of the two older boys?

How old is the Grandma’s son, also living in the house? Does he work…is he a responsible adult, home at night?

Does the father of the two older children pay child support? Was Grandma attempting to get her unemployed daughter to pay child support too?

??????

Just heard of this case/just found this thread, so unsure if this has already been posted. Apparently they aren't releasing the 911 call, but they did release the dispatchers call out to police units after the call was taken.

“Her door was open,” but no public plea? “Someone took him,” but not demanding/begging for media attention to help. Come on. JMO

"Complainant advised her 1-year-old son is missing," the dispatcher is heard saying. "She woke up, her door was open. Advised he's unable to open a door. Thinks someone came in and took him."

Exactly! How long can she hide? No interviews, no flyers, no ribbons on trees, no searching afaik.

But he wasn't 1yr old like the pics she gave to LE. He was 20 months old and looks much older in the more recent pics.

It does look like there is a doormat there as well. Also, is there a screen at the open area? A child could climb up that chair and go over the railing ( not sure how to describe it). Also, the older wooden fence part around the pool has serious gaps that someone could crawl through.

I'm not saying Quinton did any of this though.

The most telling part of this is the comment (paraphrasing) 'we have to collect evidence properly to use in court'.

IMO, there's no way they don't know what happened, when, who did it. I'm crushed for the grandparents and (eta) the babysitter.

MY NOTES/OBSERVATIONS
I suspect that the next few days are going to be pretty quiet as the CCPD & FBI go back and do more questioning and run lab tests to make sure they've got all everything they need before arrests are made. So far, it seems like they've really been putting 100% into this case. They've been giving the media enough information to keep Q in the news, but being careful to do things by the book. The fact that they denied the media the 911 call and officers' bodycam -- along with the FBI's early involvement -- is, IMO, quite telling that they suspected something was not adding up from very early on.

I wonder if they do in fact suspect foul play, and just don't have evidence to point that way yet.

Similar to how it doesn't seem common for POI or suspects to be named in some cases prior to there actually being an arrest.
Right! Because once they officially state it’s a criminal thing and there are persons of interest most guilty shut up and lawyer up imo

The baby sitter said she got up at 5am as the children are normally dropped off between 5:30-6am.
I am presuming they have to go there at that hour as that’s when the boyfriend heads to work and drops them off.
Does Leilani have a job too? I presume not as the sitter said she sometimes sees her on the porch smoking and she ducks and hides.
I just think that’s very early to take children to a child minder and very generous start time for $30 per day, and sometimes being asked to keep them until 6pm.
My mother was a child minder when I was little and the little boys mum dropped him in about 8am and I remember just enough time for a bit of tv and a snack before setting off to drop me into school. 5:30am is like the middle of the night. To me anyway.
Can someone just clarify if I’m correct or not? The kids go home into the care of Leilani and boyfriend in the evening and overnight and back to the sitter at 5:30am. Grandma works out of town and doesn’t return home in the week ? Or does she usually but didn’t this one night ? Seems wierd. If you aren’t fit to care for kids during the day you aren’t fit at night either. IMO JMO
I think it may have something to do with the fact that a lot of offices and businesses open earlier than they used to.
Back in the day the typical work day was 9-5. These days most offices are open 8-5, so we have to leaver earlier than people did in the past. I always dropped my kid off at daycare around 7-7:30 if I wanted to be at work on time. They had a before & after school program that opened at 6am and closed at 7pm for school aged kids, if it weren't for that program, I never would have been able to work full time. 5:30 am is not odd for people who do shiftwork or have a long commute. I don't think it is that odd considering the variety of work schedules people have.
