My thoughts exactly. Poor Leilani cannot leave her home due to "harassment". That is rich coming from the only named suspect in her son's death.

As nice as it would be, the searchers are all people who've had specialised training. This isn't like when a kid wanders off in the woods, and you need bodies spread out to cover maximum ground. It's more like searching through your vacuum cleaner bag for a lost earring back, but on the biggest scale possible. The right hands are doing this work. As much as we'd all like to push energy into doing something, this is a job for them. And the dump is a crime scene, and a toxic one, at that, so it's not open for the public to support in that way, eg. with water and snacks.

But yeah, some people are able to wait better than others. I fully support people who protest, and the right to protest, but I don't think the protest at the home is helping anyone, and there could be more productive things they could be doing at this time. But some would look at me watching this thread and point out I'm not helping, either, and they wouldn't be wrong.

IMO, mobs outside of homes of suspects never help anyone. They are full of hate against people who have not been proven guilty. The mobs skip a step, I think, which is justice. Even just considering the outrageous behavior of the family in public (specifically not addressing guilt of murder), meeting that behavior with another form of peace-destroying, hateful behavior is wrong.
IMO, protest (vs mobs) is solidarity for or against a principle or society standard. It is non-destructive. It doesn't sacrifice other principles such as respect for the property of others. It is important.
I think, again JMO, that you watching and participating the thread is protest against injustice and against making our society unsafe and uncivil especially against our vulnerable, principles that we can all get behind and so much better than the numbness that we may be programmed to feel after so many children have been murdered. Also, IMO, much better than disorderly conduct or holding the suspects captive by not allowing them to leave their home.

I tried to convey that I think being on Websleuths is a protest against injustice and that we don't just let things like harming our vulnerable children slide unnoticed. Were you saying that we are all the same as the people who persecute Kiely's mom? or were you saying that the people outside Qs house were just doing it for the clicks and cash?

Thats exactly what i got from the suspect. I really dont need to hear from her or her mother at all. Unless its a confession.

They aren't there for any sense of injustice, IMO. And that it is the same mentality to persecute Kiely's mother, and Shanann, even though Kiely's Mom and Shanann were never thought to be guilty of anything, youtube and FB sites just keep pumping out the attacks on them even though one of them is 4 years in the grave along with her murdered kids.

While I respect your right to feel that WS folks are ghoulish/opportunistic, I'm very glad that is not the case. I think we all sit back and think about why we do what we do here on occasion. Thanks for the quick reply.
