So very thankful that little Quinton has been recovered. It was horrible to think he would have stayed in that landfill forever.

I'm sorry that little boy had a mother who didn't cherish him like she should have. Now she will have to answer for her actions, and I have no sympathy for her one bit, she's disgusting to me.

Big thanks to LE and all the searchers who spent countless hours searching for him, they did not give up. So grateful for them. Fly high sweet boy.

now for the autopsy. i hope they can find the cause of death and it isnt "inconclusive" :(
If they tested bones for the DNA, there may not be much tissue on which to perform a necropsy.

His poor body has apparently been in a dumpster, possibly crushed by a compacting truck and dumped in a landfill. Hopefully LE has useful evidence from the crime scene.

Throwing your child away in the trash like he doesn’t matter is something I’ll never be able to understand, and certainly never forgive.
She chose drugs over her own child, then went out drinking and partying while she knew where he was.
Vile vile vile

EDIT:
Went out partying and drinking with her mom too!

I just came back to this thread after time away... To see that Leilani is arrested... Then bones have been found... And now that it's been confirmed that they are Quinton's. I am heartbroken. The thought of this baby being nothing more than bones now has done me in. God. My heart goes out to whoever found him. His remains had to be sent away just to see if they were even human. How could anyone party with the knowledge of this on their conscience.

I would have taken him, L. I would have loved him and cared for him like I do my own sons. Millions of good people would have loved him. You are incapable of love, but did you have to take his entire life away? I'm so sickened and angry. I hope and pray for justice. God bless the police and Quintin's babysitter.

Emphasis mine.

Quoting myself to post the link , where BJH said that regarding her daughter :

“My mind has thought the worst and it’s prayed for the best. You know, I couldn’t imagine that she would hurt one of her kids but I can’t say the thought hasn’t gone through my mind a hundred thousand times,” said Billie Howell, in a phone interview with WTOC News.

She's looking like she's doing a 180 ⁰ now ; but that may simply be self preservation ?
M00.
I still think this is consistent with what she originally stated:

"Sometimes she does really great, sometimes she doesn’t,” Ms Howell told ABC30 of her 22-year-old daughter and Quinton’s mother. “I don’t know what to think right now. I don’t know what to believe, because I don’t think anybody ever believes this is going to happen to them.”

“I don’t know if I can trust her or I don’t,” the grandmother added. “I just know I’m hurting and I want this baby home. He’s my baby.”

I don't like quite a bit of her behavior but (and maybe I've forgotten something, please correct me) I don't remember her vigorously defending her daughter, just refusing to believe that Q could be dead. It is a tough position to be in.
JMO.

bolding mine.
Agreed. Esp. the bolded.
Who leaves a child with a person so neglectful, abusive, and dangerous that custody has been denied them ?
There is no excuse.

Yes.

The babysitter (DM) is owed an apology, big time.
I think we can guess that will not happen ?
M00.
Her having cocaine in her system when the kid was born should have big a HUGE red flag

<modsnip: off topic/no link> I wondered if something bad happened to him and it was covered up ?

The same with Quinton -- as in his body had to be hidden ?
So, no calls to 911 for instance-- if he'd just drowned ?
Imo.

Hoping they can find COD, but I'm not betting on it.

I and many of us here have watched a good number of murder trials via the local news employees filming and then broadcasting them.
I cannot recall watching one, however, where the COD was unknown -- the COD's were usually obvious -- strangulation, GSW, poison, beaten to death, drowning, etc., etc. Those COD's were found, however, on people who had not been in a landfill for several weeks. ME's are pretty intelligent, and have done amazing autopsies, but this one makes me shake my head, and say "no way."
I hope I'm wrong. This case cries for solid evidence and type of death.

So glad his little remains were found. Kudos, awe and much more to LE, FBI, and a host of others who worked so hard to find the remains of our pretty little guy.
