Should I forward a copy of the website to with to Sheriff Sills? Or just stay out of it? He's probably aware. He probably keeps track of them. I'll just stay out of it. Hopefully we get an arrest today.

I think he does keep a close eye on them but you should do whatever you feel is the right thing to do, Bootsctr.

A Nuwabian member, along with several "associates" of the group, were indicted in Atlanta for counterfeiting payroll checks to the tune of $5 million. (A son of York's was indicted in Richmond, Va., on similar charges.) Two men with reputed ties to the Nuwaubian Nation were arrested for armed robbery in Rockdale County, halfway between Putnam and Atlanta.

"There's a myriad of criminal activity associated with the group," Sills says.

The PD ended up with half a million from the sale of the nuwabian compound after is was impounded, the FBI and IRS split the other half a million

In my post upthread, where I referenced the Georgia Guidestones, I was being facetious.
I thought that was understood, but apparently not.
I do not in any way, shape or form believe that this cult is responsible for the Dermond's demise. It is just nonsensical.

Hi OBE- I hear what you are saying but I think Sills reference to no hit was in relation to some form of retaliation for the elder son's death. I'm not saying the elder Dermonds have done something wrong, but perhaps someone (and wildly speculating) close to them has. He needs to be checking other money transactions. And why is it.just drug cartels and.the mafia taking heads.?

Also, if there is some "nefarious behavoir "ocurring in the neighborhood, someone knows it. And. chances are the Board of Directors knows it. Even if there are tiny disagreements.

And was it just the front door that was unlocked? How about the back entrances. Especially the screened in porch. You can only unlock and lock them from the inside. One would think that an exit or entrance
to the house from the boat would have been easier to acheive through the back way.

And not only did Sills NOT contact the GBI, maybe BECAUSE THE FBI was so helpful in the Nuwabian case, he KNEW HE HAD to contact the FBI and ONLY THE FBI, from past experience in THAT case................

not necessarily becauase GBI wasn't helpful in the Nuwabian case but because they aren't knowlegeable of it since they were't involved in case

OK so say there is a connection/bad blood between Nuwabian and Sills.

The first time I saw nuwaubian cult mentioned, I chuckled, because I thought it was meaning like that scam emails people get or something. I had no idea such a thing existed! Those folks are scary...and in RICHMOND VA??? Get 'em outta my state!! Gangs, and cults... no need for either! Wish I could **POOF** BE GONE all of them!

At this point, I'm like the sheriff, all I know is that I was home, and have never been to GA. The rest of you all... well I don't know... you are all suspects to me.

But seriously, this case haunts me, because we just don't know. And as far as WHY the Dermonds, well it might end up being the ease of access, their age, political beliefs, religious beliefs, who knows! Could be totally random! Serial killers don't usually know their victims, and they kill to kill...their motive is murder. Sooo we just don't know. And that's scary!!!

And now I'm scared to even read more about this Nuwaubian stuff. They sound nuts, and scary too. Are we the only normal folks left? Don't answer that!

and we really have NO IDEA what the family thinks or has said other than just THAT, cult and phone calls, it sounded outlandish at first to me, but then reading on the nuwabians that are indeed real and alive, well, and have wreaked havoc whereever they go, it does seem long ago, but no one knows if they did or did not, many things seem to make sense in regards to the drop location, mounds, sills, cult mentioned etc, so keep on keeping on

If you talk to the family I hope you'll share what they think and say

I am not up on everything nuwabian but when reading a piece or two mentioned above in another posting I was quite surprised at how much power this York really had.

He even had Jesse Jacksong and Abernathy marching for him and it seems that Sheriff Sills could get no help from Georgia so he had to go to the FBI who cleaned out that den of monsters.

Folks in the articles seem to think things would have gotten really bad had not Sills never let up and got the conviction of their leader.

In my mind hate brews. I just can't see the connection to the Dermonds.

I do find it strange that one of the first things Keith Dermond said was 'maybe a cult did it'. Where did he get that.

If my loved one died that way I would be saying 'what kind of monster did that horrible thing to another human being'.

Cult would be the last thing on my mind...so that's a little smoke and maybe there is fire...somewhere???

Maybe in fact something was between the Dermonds and the nuwabians that Keith would think of them so quickly in mentioning cult!

If the perp/s had taken both S & R Dermond and disposed both of their bodies in the lake w/o leaving any signs of a crime. They would have been considered as only missing persons/adults. Other than a Silver Alert being initiated, the investigation would have had much less; urgency, investigative resources dedicated, and would have simply been a mystery...
Adults have the right to go missing..

The decapitation of RD and his missing head, combined with the torso being left in the garage changed not only the urgency of the investigation, but the horrific nature and magnitude of the crime.. Seems, the perp/s would have had to know that this would be the case.

The brazen perp/s were making a statement, while challenging authorities, imo.. Why?

The above BBM statement was made prior to the Newaubian cult theory arising in the discussion. Imo, the motive in the Dermond's abduction/murder/decapitation may very well have been for retribution.. Retribution targeted not only at the Dermonds, but primarily at Sheriff Howard Sills/PCSO, the justice system, and the entire Putnam County community..

That's what I thought too 2Hope4 - just a rumor about occult activity, but when I read the links about the nuwaubians - well it was more scary than I was prepared to read. Maybe the son's murderer was somehow involved with the Nuwaubian cult and their hits are not like a typical type of Mafia hit - they kill family members too including elderly wives. I don't know what to think any more.

I don't think the Nuwabians were involved in D murders, but the articles show you this ain't the sheriff's first rodeo and he has a close working relationship with the FBI.

Everyday I drive to see my 92 year old mother and I have come up with some wild theories, which I won't discuss as they are likely TOS violations.
I think about how my mother spent her time before moving. I think about family things and community things she has told me in the last 10 years that I did not know and I was living right there!! Explained quite a bit of our family dysfunction and some of my friends' families growing up. Yowza!!That generation DID NOT tell their children everything! The Ds were of that generation.

Business dealings, family feuds, folks forgetting they were married "before", cousins who don't exist, jealousy, bootlegging, the stuff no one talks about until the "filter" stops working...and for my mama it stopped working at age 82.

OTPT EXACTLY!!! There are many families that simply do NOT talk about anything but the weather, and all good things. Remember someone said Mrs Dermond doesn't gossip?? Well, I can believe that! Now as I stated before, I'm not from money. One of my Grandma's would tell anything. Seriously, if you wanted the local news, don't pick up a newspaper, Grandma had the low down, and who was related to who, and what happened 50yrs ago between so and so, etc. My other Grandma, no way, no how. Even things that later I knew were facts, Grandma would keep mum on. I can see her shaking her head at me, and saying "The past is the past. There's no need bringing that stuff up". BUT, before she died last year, from brain cancer, she DID talk and tell me a few things! But I am the ONLY one in the family that would pester her about stuff, wanting to know more, etc., or ask her questions about things I briefly remembered as a child, but didn't know all the facts. Everyone else felt it was disrespectful, and you didn't ask questions!! But as a child, my own Mom called me the detective. Don't take anything at face value. I've gotta know.

We don't know how much the Dermonds shared with each other, with their children, or with neighbors. We just don't know.

Thus I never learned about the trade market, buying stocks, etc. Investing in land was the only true thing I ever heard about finances growing up. Didn't even know what bank people used!

I wonder if the wealthy think the same?

My Mother's family is exceedingly wealthy. It was considered in bad taste to inquire how much something cost. Old southern money does not talk. New money does. JMV
