We're talking the difference between forgetting (hot car) and purposely leaving the baby in the pool in danger?

I don't see how those two could possibly be compared.

Those who believe he purposely planned to leave Cooper in danger in the hot car would see the two as identical. Those who believe it was forgetful feel the two are completely different.

If LE thought he left Cooper in the car on purpose at 9:30, and went to check on him to ensure that he was dead or dying at noon, they'd charge him that way.

no we're talking LEAVING in hot car and LEAVING on pool float.

Ross Harris's plan included the knowledge that popular sentiment would side with the forgetful blameless excuse. Bet his attorney is taking notes on all the it almost happened to me stories.

Yep - and I also notice those here who were disparaging our local reporter here in Atlanta and claiming his sources were FALSE and pointing to this People article as true are now awfully quiet.........crickets........

removed content since it was also a comment about the posters referred to in quote

Do you not see any difference in culpability if one forgot, and one purposely left the child out of lack of caring?

No, they have just switched to another forum - I saw them over there. Same old, same old. I wonder if there is a personal relationship with the suspect, although that was denied yesterday.

I think Salem has made it clear that we don't discuss other posters here - just content.

Right. But interesting that they downgraded it already from what they were first planning to charge him with.

I found where the child cruelty charge was downgraded.

The new warrant filed late Tuesday also downgrades one charge against Harris from first-degree child cruelty to second-degree child cruelty. First-degree cruelty to children requires that a person "willfully deprives the child necessary sustenance," while second-degree cruelty to children is caused by "criminal negligence" under Georgia law.

But I'm not sure what level of murder that JRH is charged with. Is it manslaughter? Second degree murder? Does anyone know?

We have some power posting going on in here. Knock it off.

this is beyond me! if you are that fearful that you are doing google searches then for pete's sakes! get a thick sharpie and a highlighter and tape a piece of paper to your dash that says CHECK THE BABY"S CARSEAT! smh!!

EXACTLY, thank you. How hard is it to turn your head towards the back seat and scan the area, listening for a chatty, babbling toddler, or ducking into the back seat and actually checking?

Just wanted to drop in that the question on reddit about best meteorology model was asked about 4 months ago, around that time Atlanta had "Snowpocalypse" (end of January) and an ice storm (around the 10th of February). There were so many models for the ice storm being brought up and discussed so his question could have been in reference to those events.

I wonder if he was comparing leaving a child to freeze in a locked car... Or to die of hyperthermia in a closed up car...

maybe he was trying to find the most "effective" MOD?

Do you realize how early in the investigation it is? They are just getting into the data on all the computers and phones etc jmo

And in every case the caregiver stops giving care when they leave the child (with the clock ticking towards the child's death) to do something else.

Same with pool float or car in sun. Exactly the same. But death by hot car is acceptable, excusable, not criminal.

BBM

I don't think "death by hot car is acceptable, excusable, not criminal".

Nor do I think that posters here who are offering another viewpoint on this tragic case believe that "death by hot car is acceptable, excusable, not criminal".

IMO, I don't believe little Cooper's death was an accident, based on the currently available information. However, I respect the opinions and comments of everyone who may need more information before reaching a conclusion, including everyone who may at this point believe it was a terrible accident, because differing opinions & viewpoints help to inform me and help me to look at the case from a perspective other than my own.

But they can prove he did the search - he told them he did the search so I still don't see how she thought it would help him to say she searched too. It just strengthens what I am sure is going to be the prosecution's argument that they knew what could happen yet did nothing to minimise the potential for harm to their child.

I am wondering if she even knew HE had admitted to researching dying in the car at the time she admitted to it...

IMOO the search and the cough 'dream' were all part of this
creeps plan. sick sick sick

His dream freaks me out...
delusions that God spoke to him, possible psychotic break.
I wonder how long they both spoke like this.
I'd love to know more about the church they attended and if this was the norm there or not.
