...janet's shoes left behind....................heartbreaking...
Seeing those shoes reminded me that Janet doesn't even have a make-shift memorial where she died!!! NO ONE (not family, friends, church goers, neighbors, or strangers in the area) has brought flowers, candles, stuffed animals, etc. to the house. You see this in soooooo many other cases. What happened here? Do the people in Durham even know about this case?

Wow, you guys are amazing.....pictures of the house, finding the ebay account, contemplating the "other guy"...I'm thinking the Durham LE needs to move aside and let you all do the investigating. They can't be that incompetent and not know (or think) any of this, can they???
....NO kidding......................i'm always shocked ! at the flurry of finds that these WS'ers find and post within minutes of a new case!!!!

...i'm in canada.............and spoke to a member of LE here just recently...
...long story short...

..they LOVE people like the WS'ers here...............and gain a TON of info off of the posts/links they read........

...keep it comin' "google girls".............!

Did anyone else notice the reference to Raven in the eulogy? It seems almost like he's talking about Raven fondly. You'd think that if they were suspicious of Raven, he wouldn't have been mentioned sincerely in a eulogy (Side note: he was mentioned in a similar manner by one of her soccer teammates giving the eulogy at the funeral service in Buena Vista). Thoughts, anyone?
Boy, while reading that eulogy, I felt I was stabbed in the chest! What a true loss of a life. Janet sounded absolutely amazing. What guilt the parents must feel pushing her to go to the college where she met HIM!!!

I can't imagine anybody bringing up at the funeral that they were suspicious of Raven. And of course, as Allgood points out, none of Scott's and Laci's family thought Scott Peters(on) was capable of murder. IMO, the Abaroas will stick to Raven being innocent and the Christensens may change their mind.

Well that's good to know. Hopefully the LE in NC will be as attentive! Throw us a bone and we'll produce the entire cow:dance:

...not sure where this fits in..............but did find a comment to raven ( abaroa ) on http://yanceyware.proboards4.com/index.cgi an LDS support site.

The October conference session is already posted on my website. Take a closer look and you'll find it there.

.............it only shows to me that he was on the LDS support site back then.....2002...............( and then veered off onto the VX site etc.....) ( and then his ( nite before janet's murder ) "native heritage" musings......."my" space.....

........there was mention of his lawyer, julian mack (?) .....when did he acquire this attny? for the embezzlement ? if so when ?

..if late april............combined with the affairs he's been said to have been having.................(can't imagine the loving conversations going on in that house........)

No kidding!!

The website showed Raven asking a question and Bryce answering it.....imo, seems it is just another way Raven "pretended" to be a mormon.

The shoes are Nike Mercurial Vapors and are most definitely Ravens.

When they came out, they were another one of those status things. I think they were popular with European soccer stars, and people who bought them we're trying to immitate their heros.

I thought someone found that the shoes were actually female. Someone posted a weblink to them a page back.

I figure he did take care of his buddies on the team, but also had a nice side business going off ebay. There was a FuTBaLrGuY ebayer that I can't pull the records for.
Was that the exact name? It's not on e-bay at this point. There are only two users with names close to that, and they both have only buying feedback listed, no sales. Did you find futbalrguy recently?

I was told that they were men's, but looking at the pictures from NCB, and comparing them to the link that juliagoulia posted, they are women's.
Here's the men's:

Here's the women's:

Here's the picture from NCB:

The difference between the men's and women's is the blocking in the back (women's is white, men's doesn't look to have it). And the men's have got a black line running through them and the women's doesn't. So, they are women's.

Does anyone think that Janet was still enough in to soccer to warrant a pair of $100 shoes? Or was it a gift to Janet from Raven?

And with Raven's inside connection to get top-of-the line gear I would think that his team was decked out fully.
It would be interesting if LE, during their investigation, would interview some of these teammates, and ask them where they purchased their gear. I honestly believe that if Raven was stealing merchandise, it wasn't to hand it out for free to his teammates. Perhaps he sold them their stuff at a reduced rate from what the store would charge. That way, both seller & buyer benefit but Raven still ends up with cash in his pocket.

I'm not sure he was, yet I did receive correspondence a few weeks ago that indicated the person writing felt that Raven seemed to "flirt" with men and women both in the office.
Isn't that frequently connected to one of the personality disorders ... flirtations with both genders? I can't remember, and don't have time to research it just yet but I could have sworn that I've heard that before. I'll check it out later today if I can.

This is what is so frustrating about this case.....no facts. No statements about Janet's TOD, no statements whether Raven's alibi checked out, no statements about what else was examined (besides the first search warrant) where no soccer uniform is included or the searching of his VX or Motorcycle....no statements except it wasn't random and she was stabbed:banghead:
I find it extremely unusual that they wouldn't search all of the vehicles belonging to the Abaroa's. The only way that I can see them NOT doing that is if they found what they were looking for on the first one. Otherwise, how can this investigation even be taken seriously ... what would LE say ... "well, we only searched the Durango because that's the one he said he was driving at the time"? No way, IMO.

I've heard exactly the same -- that he was virtually caught by accident, as well. Apparently he'd make dummy accounts in the computer ordering system and then send the items there, but he was always the actual recipient -- this last is a guess, but from the information I've received that's what it looks like. I'd love to see his e-Bay history, but you know, if his e-Bay stuff is inaccessible, it may be because he is still under investigation.

Mr. A
Wasn't Raven responsible for ordering for at least one other company as well? If so, I wonder if this is the first time he's embezzled or the first time he's been caught.

I also want to mention that we've all been working under the assumption that Raven was playing soccer that night. Have any of us received credible information that that's the case?

I went to the crime scene today.
NCBanker, I just want to tell you what a great job you did!!! I can't imagine walking up to the house ... you're braver than me! :)

I find it odd that such a huge desk wouldn't have had a computer on it, and if it did, why on Earth was it not collected during the search???

Now that you've been there, you can tell us ... does the driveway extend to the side door or does it stop near the front porch? Is the side door kind of out of the way or is it easily accessible for guests stopping by? In other words, does it look most likely that they would use the front door, the side door, or is it even possible to tell one way or the other?

One other question, how close is the neighbor's driveway?

BTW, let's all keep in mind that this crime happened in the end of April. A lot of growth has occurred between then and now. Is it possible that the house would have been seen from the street while the leaves were still budding? In one of the photos taken on the porch, you can see a curved road in the background. I'm thinking it's Ferrand Drive, and in that case, it seems that the street can be seen from the house - at least from certain angles at certain points in time. :waitasec:

NCBanker--Would you think that Janet and Raven would have used the side door as their main entrance to the house? Curious to know if the driveway went all the way up there or not.

Good job on the pictures!
Sorry, Jenifred ... I didn't see this when I posted my questions a few minutes ago. I'm still a couple pages back in the thread. I was gone for one evening, and conversation picked up again!!! Now I've got to catch up! :)

This buyer made a purchase on Feb. 24, and then not again until April 28th, (books). Then on May 6th and May 19th, purchased computer parts. Interesting find. (Sorry if you've already discussed this too but I' still lagging behind, and now I've got to go out again! You'll all probably have another four pages when I get back!!! LOL!)

These are Raven's shoes. I've heard from multiple sources now.
