I am not familiar with this Halifax hospital. In my hospital,suicidal patients have sitters, at least the first 24hr. They are medically cleared, then transported to the county mental health complex.(escorted by police)
Sometimes, the patient may go straight to mental health, again, escorted by police.

Is this a mental health hospital? Looks like a regular medical complex to me.

It's a regular hospital with a mental health ward. This is the same hospital Dale Earnhart was taken to when he died- it is about 1 mile from the Daytona Speedway.




Also, I sense some confusion as to the hotel where GA was found- The Hawaiian Inn is on A1A in Daytona Beach Shores- this is a relatively nice beachfront hotel.

The Hawaii Motel- where George was found- is actually on US1 in a pretty seedy neighborhood. This area is full of those old, one story motels that are used as transient residences. Lots of drug and prostitution activity in this area.

And by mentioning that, I'm not implying that GA engaged in any activity related to drugs or prostitution. But someone made mention that the hotel was nice- but not the Ritz.

I wanted to clarify any confusion.

I agree, but NG gets bashed quite a bit herself. Some go as far as making fun of what she wears. She can be abrasive, but I say if you don't like her, don't watch.

Fox News said that the defense for KC will have a field day with this. Why did George want to commit suicide? Is it because HE is the one that killed Caylee? They said that they are not saying that they believe that he is guilty, but that is just what KC's lawyer will try and say, just to get his client off the hook.

Thanks for this. I think we need to all put "emotion" aside and look at the facts. I am hoping this leads to all the truth about what happened to Caylee coming out.

Usually it only takes one person in a group to break and then it all comes tumbling out.

Once they medically clear him in the ER, they will transfer him to the mental health ward.

I feel bad for George. I get so angry because I can see KC saying "why does he want to end his life, I'm the one stuck in prison, I'm the one who lost my daughter, I'm the victim, why is he crying".

So sad, prayers for GA.

I've barely thought about what KC's feelings might be, but you are right on here! I did wonder a minute ago if JB will find her response oddly different from what he would expect from anyone else given this terrible news!

Suicide attempts are brought on by sadness do to anger and frustration, at ones self or towards someone else. It has only been a matter of time since his last statements of wanting to die. It appears no one took GA seriously the first time he talked about suicide. Now that GA is forced to recieve counseling during his psych. eval. stay, this might open up help for the remaining two in the family. You can only bottle up feelings for so long until you implode! As awful as this seems it just might be the beginning of real truths.

I have never once heard NG "tear down" GA or CA. She has always defended both.

Yes, that is so true! Nancy can get fussy but never with George or Cindy. I've always been glad she is kind to them and believes (as I do) that George and Cindy and Lee are all Casey's victims too.

GA reminds me of a couple we know. He is a rather pleasant person to be around while she is obsessive and much like CA. We choose not to socialize with them (although we are friendly to them) because being around her is just too much work and not particularly enjoyable. I wonder if GA and CA have a similar situation regarding their friends? I am sure that any friends they do have are stearing clear in order to avoid being "vetted" as another poster put it (very well I might add). CA seems to surround herself with lots of people....GA seems to keep to himself. A rather sad dynamic.

Thanks, I was wondering about that myself. One article said the hotel was off Ridgewood. Not a nice area and well known for illegal activity. I was wondering what the heck George was doing in that area in the first place. It may have just been because the rooms are really cheap.

We don't know for sure what happened yet TG. I watched the Fox report and they didn't accuse GA of anything. Meagan Kelly, who is an attorney, simply said "Will this give fuel to the defense to say GA did this" Kimberly Guilfoyle replied "It very well could". Meaghan made sure to re-iterate that they were in NO WAY implying GA did anything.

Just wanted to set the record straight before the rumor gets out of control that Fox accused GA of possibly hurting Caylee.:innocent:

Right now I really don't want to watch any news about GA, or see any webcam live feed, I think it's kind of sick that the man was suicidal and the news media is camped outside his house. Give the man a break.

ITA. While I'm extremely grateful for the updates I feel media camping outside of the A's home is just unnecessary especially in relation to this particular issue.

GA is currently under evaluation. He is not home. While I respect a reporters dedication to getting the first scoop (I assume they're there hoping for statements from any that are living/visiting there) there is a time when we should just take a step back and do the right thing because it's humane.
