Morning everyone...

Praying for Justice for Trayvon!

Also praying for TM's family, GZ's family, the jurors, and the community to accept whatever verdict the jurors give.

I don't think the evidence was there for 2nd degree murder, so I'm hoping for a manslaughter conviction.

I agree with you and think the sentence for manslaughter makes sense as well. I was very pleased that manslaughter was included.

WE know that TM talked to GZ first. HE saw him first and spoke first as per state witness RJ.

Testimony under DIRECT.

WE need proof to convict. GZ is the one with the injuries. GZ was the one under neath TM when neighbor comes out.

FACTS in evidence as per the states CIC.

We know that TM was home when he spoke to RJ and told her so. We know that when she calls him back he is winded and breathing heavy and then he sees GZ again. We know that fight occurs close to GZ says he was waiting for police.
WE know that GZ tells police his story immediately without a lawyer and without knowing there are ear witnesses and thinking there is a video.

Yes, but you choose to believe "parts" of RJ testimony. Those that suit your belief of the case. However, you have also chosen to dismiss other parts of RJs testimony, e.g. "why are you following me?" & "get off, get off" which she testifies she heard TM saying.

Then why did he tell the neighbor to phone his wife and tell her he just shot someone? IMO

By that time he realized TM was lying there not moving. IMMEDIATELY afterward he may have said he didn't know as he was in shock. This seems completely normal to me. It happened quickly and in self defense. If he was intending to shoot TM that night he wouldn't have called the NEN and screamed desperately for help. People act as if GZ went around shooting people all the time. He was getting his A## beat up. IMO

By the timeline, it seems possible the jury could return with a verdict today? (I don't know, that's why I'm asking).

Would that be better? To return with a verdict today, either way, rather than leave the state holding their breath for a whole weekend?

Will the jury deliberate Saturday, does anyone know?

IMHO

I called it correctly in the CA case, because the state didn't prove much of anything, not to mention JA was snickering and laughing.

I will now call this case as GZ getting manslaughter, even though I believe he should be acquitted, because MOM is so low-key, like even he doesn't believe what he is saying. He has no passion, no conviction in his voice.

I hope I'm wrong, and this is only MY OPINION.

I really hope you are wrong, also!

Can anyone tell me the sentencing structure for 2nd degree murder vs Manslaughter? Is there a difference? The gun enhancement adds years to each, correct? Thanks!

IMO!

I'm sorry, if you look at this impartially (admitted I am not), this closing is killing the states closing, it's not even an argument. Even Bill S is saying so.

I have to admit, O'Mara's slow, quiet, and methodical manner has me listening very closely, and I already know all that stuff!

MOM said that four minutes was how long Trayvon had to run home (if he was afraid) before he saw Zimmerman again. But he didn't go home (to the father's girlfriend's house).

MOM is boring, though.

I personally like MOM's style and I think it will resonate with the women jurors. He is reasoned, calm, and professional. jmo

I can't get any live stream to play smoothly (wftv, wild about) so it is excruciatingly slow. But, this monotone and ridiculous animation (which IMO, purposefully won't play right) is putting me to sleep.

I've read Juror B29 wouldn't look at BDLR but shook her head in agreement with M O'M. She is a Hispanic women who just moved to Florida about four months ago, works at a home for prople with Altzheimer's and she has Eight children. Juror E-40, per Kathi Belich seems uninterested.

I predict Hung Jury.

So then how do you feel about her testimony, because obviously there are parts that do not benefit the state.

That is what Jurors do. They look at all the evidence and throw out what they do not find credible and take what they do find credible.

That is how the law works. IT is really hard to discuss this if people don't understand fully the laws that apply to the case and the way our jury system works.

It is up to each juror to choose what is credible and what is not. IT can be from one person's testimony that they pick some facts and toss another.
THAT IS THE JURY'S DUTY.

Even with manslaughter, the prosecution needs to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that George did NOT shoot in self-defense. SELF-DEFENSE means acquittal.

I am not having any trouble with WAT today. But I do find if I close the page and restart it, It helps on days I had trouble.

I think it's either going to be hung or aquittal. I think there are a few on the jury that in no way are going find guilty on either charge.

MOM's sing song all over the map presentation isn't working - even posters here don't know what the long time space here was all about - this jury isn't buying what he's saying and is going to convict GZ of manslaughter - and rightfully so.

I think if the SWAT teams are worried - it's about the reaction from the GZ side and all those gun owners taking the law into their own hands.

IMO

I'd love to ask them. I'd bet that thought never once, even fleetingly, crossed their minds. jmo
