This MSM article says that AE and her two adult children were forced to spend multiple nights in a rental car while LE were searching their home and property, while they "bounced" between relatives' homes and the rental car.

:(

Ellerup filed for divorce after her husband was arrested.

She and her two adult children, who also live at the house, returned last week after bouncing between relatives’ homes and a rental car, where they were forced to spend multiple nights, according to the lawyer.

“These people are also innocent victims in this,” Macedonio added. “They’re the unknown victims because no one cares about them.”

An attorney for the adult children, Vess Mitev, said his clients were considering legal action against police for the “deplorable and roughshod handling of the investigation.”

Thank you! I'm surprised more articles haven't mentioned it.

Retired Detective Pat Portela

2022

Sini said in a statement that he sought to remove the lead detective, Patrick Portela, because “it became increasingly clear that [he] was not willing to effectively collaborate,” including by refusing to share information with the FBI. Sini said that he was met with “fierce resistance” from within the police department when he initially advocated for the detective’s removal, and noted that investigators under his successor “solved the case in eighteen months without [Portela’s] involvement.

Patrick Portela, the lead detective investigating the Gilgo Four, was ultimately removed from the case, prior to the creation of the Gilgo Beach Homicide Investigation Task Force in February 2022. Under that force, leadership turned attention to a tip from a witness about a pickup trip that later connected them to the suspect. Authorities officially arrested Heuermann in midtown Manhattan on July 13.

alive okay.

The latest victim to be named was identified last November.
This required a press conference this week.
Call me cynical but I'm starting to get really edgy.

Me too.

My apologies if this has already been discussed (I am exhausted and I figure I'm late on this): after listening to the Joshua Zeman /Joe Giacalone interview from the other day, it sounds like Karen Vergata's name was floating around with journalists and bloggers for a few days(?)/weeks(?). Perhaps LE wanted to get ahead of the news leaking to the general public. LE did know her name back in November of 2022 and it makes sense they would wait to release *IF* they do believe Heuermann is involved. I suppose it's possible thats not the case and they waited maybe because of the link to the Gilgo Beach location? Announcing FIJD's name back in November could have set Heuermann off?

I don't know why I'm edgy. I don't believe Heuermann only killed 4. I don't think all of his victims have been found but I don't want there to be more. Thinking about the undeveloped land down in SC makes me edgy. Thinking about the Suffolk County PD corruption makes me super edgy. I still think there are ways that mess can bungle up this entire case. Maybe. Why are you edgy?

Thanks again. It’s interesting that the 59th Street Bridge is coming up in Pak’s depo as where he picked up Shannon and then a couple of days later, he was told to pick up another escort there. 59th Street Bridge was also mentioned a few times in the RH bail doc relating to cell pings, if I’m remembering right. I suppose this is a popular spot for escorts to be picked up from. Another ”coincidence“ between Shannon and the G4. I apologize if what’s new info to me is redundant to others.

also interesting that Pak says he was convicted in 2003/4 of “misusing a passport“ to help an Asian male illegally enter the country. I’m having a hard time not letting my imagination jump to conclusions. I do hope someone is looking into any connections to RH.

I wonder if there were any arrests involving significant prostitution businesses near the 59th St bridge back in those days. If so, what business name/s was being used. It used to be easy to search for news reports of busts years ago but not so now. (imo)

glad to see a nice picture of them

Has anyone noticed someone who had been posting here that no longer is posting? People have always suspected that the guilty party(ies) would interact online in these forums. I am wondering if there is someone who was suddenly no longer active once RH was taken into custody. I wonder if the admins have any thoughts?? I'd be curious to go back and read their old posts, if so.

If RH was on here, it will be in evidence at some point. They already have his vile searches.

A full investigation will necessarily uncover formerly suppressed information, I think.
As this will have to involve Suffolk county players are they prepared to do further naming and shaming or allow sleeping dogs to lay?

I'm not sure how committed they are.

My own suspicions are that rH had access to a building where he brought his victims, a room, a basement, a warehouse, a shed.. i think , speculatively that there is where the information will be.

As nothing particularly relevant appears to have been discovered at his residence there simply must be another location somewhere.

As these murders occurred while his wife was away it suggests he required a few overnight or longer stays away from his home, suggesting he possibly held them for a time before killing and disposing of them- his own personal torture chamber.

we know the dates they went missing but not the dates they died or were disposed.
