Looking at this map - MAP JLM HEG - https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zhH0NjEZuy28.kQI70Tl9nPsA - it is odd WHERE JLM's orange auto was found. NOT near his apartment, but closer downtown. WHY?

That's where his car was parked the night Hannah disappeared, not where LE found it when they seized it.

Very interesting, again, thank you for thinking this through. I'm confused about whom is recognizing whom? Some people have good instincts, from experience perhaps, in how to react to the cold dead stare of evil. I can see that JM may have known when he ran into his own kind, but do you mean Hannah Graham would recognize? Can you explain?

What I meant was that if JM had ever encountered RAT in McDonald's, for example, they'd probably have recognized each other instantly.

We need to update some of that. 7/1/10 is when they announced the DNA link between MH and Fairfax and released the Fairfax sketch. 8/2/10 JM asked that his taxi license be deactivated.

He also attended a local community college for several semesters between 2008 and 2011.

Lots of locations here...Looking at this further, I am reminded of something I came across during AM's case and analyzing maps as related to RAT...IIRC, there were also a whoooole bunch of incidents in Virginia Beach. Not sure if this would be better posted in another thread (possible victims), but have there been any definitive links found between JM and Virginia Beach? Just wondering, tia.

Good point. If Grandma told him she knew that was him (and why didn't she call LE?) - something like this - "LJ. That's YOU on that tape. Right there? See? That's YOU!" he might have had the foresight to move her. So where was he those days, from the time she went missing until LE had him covertly followed? Particularly if Grandma had that conversation with JM before LE admitted that "dread guy" was the POI.

Maybe LE needs to use grandma as the bargaining chip, put some pressure on her for not calling LE, that may cause him to crack.

The problem with forensic analysis of a taxi cab (just like with a hotel room) is that so many people would have ridden in it (hair, fibers, etc)...but if he owned the cab, there very well could be signs of blood.

Thinking further about his taxi business, has any kind of log been posted as to his runs? I know this isn't likely, but maybe phone records could indicate all the calls he took, where and when...hopefully LE has had some luck retrieving some of this.

Maybe LE needs to use grandma as the bargaining chip, put some pressure on her for not calling LE, that may cause him to crack.

One thing that has struck me in many cases is how often the mother/family refuses to help. I know it is a natural instinct to want to protect your own, but still...I'm not sure how cooperative the grandma has been here, but I've seen cases where the family is so tightlipped to the end, with no empathy for the victim's family. That's why when ARS' mother turned her own son in for Jessica Ridgeway's murder, it was monumental and so admirable imo.

I wish we could interview JM's grandma, so many questions for her...

Thinking further about his taxi business, has any kind of log been posted as to his runs? I know this isn't likely, but maybe phone records could indicate all the calls he took, where and when...hopefully LE has had some luck retrieving some of this.

According to Coy Barefoot (a local reporter whom LE seems to trust), LE has all original records from the taxi company in the time surrounding MH's disappearance and those were taken "years ago." (Can't copy right now, will post link later, but it's to FB so I hope that's ok.) What's unknown (to us) is when that van was last used, but it appears to have been driven at least until April (or perhaps fall) of 2010 if it's the same van shown in a picture of him with some women he drove to Foxfield in 2010.

(CNN) -- DNA evidence links Jesse Matthew, a suspect in this month's disappearance of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, to the death of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, who disappeared in 2009, a law enforcement source told CNN Monday. And state authorities are checking other unsolved homicide and missing person cases for possible connections.
Virginia State Police had said earlier that the two cases were connected by a "forensic link" but did not elaborate. Almost from the start, speculation was raised about the possibility of a connection between Graham's disappearance and Harrington's death.
"Certainly the question has arisen. It's certainly a legitimate question," Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo told reporters last week.

One thing I've noticed is that sometimes the disposal techniques and locations can vary widely from victim to victim. Especially as the predator becomes more experienced (example, Travis Forbes).
