In one article I read, the wife, Evana, said that he started spiraling in January of 2012. That would have been within weeks of SG's body was found.

In a Dr. Phil interview, the son, Jonathan, said that he felt if he didn't help his father that RJR would kill him. He said it a few times.

He's a nasty piece of work, yes, but is there any indications of using escorts, being a *advertiser censored* junkie, or even having a "thing" for or about women in general ?

Don't know yet...but he is charged with trying to abduct two, possibly three, women in and around the Freeport area. He has also been accused of physical abuse to his wife.

Just waiting for the other shoe to drop on this one.

Ah, OK, thanks. The abduction attempts are obviously a major red flag (while the physical abuse of a spouse is often just run-of-the-mill lowlife behavior).
 
Evana said her husband began acting suspiciously in January when “he increased his life-insurance policy.” She said she didn’t know who the beneficiary was.

“He tripled it,” she said. “He also did revise his will on Wednesday before the beach.”

She said he then recently began getting into trouble at his work at Level 3 Communications at 1 Penn Plaza in Herald Square.

He was demoted and promptly threatened to shoot the two supervisors who had bumped him, she said.

The threat led Nassau County cops to go to the family’s home to confiscate the licensed handgun Roth owned.

Roth was fired the day after the threats.

Level 3 declined to comment.

His wife said her hubby’s bizarre behavior continued.

He insisted on putting the house up for sale the next Wednesday.

He started packing up all his suits.

“I said, ‘You haven’t even put out a résumé, and you want to sell the house? You’ll need your suits for interviews,’ ” Evana said.

“He told me he didn’t need [the clothes] — he would go back to driving a truck,” she said.

“On the day he went to the beach, he told me he was going to his mother’s house,” she recalled.

“I said, ‘How long are you going to be? Are you going to be home for dinner?’ He said, ‘I’ll be home in an hour,’ ” she said.

A few hours later, the wife said, her stepson, Raymond’s son, Jonathan, called her.

“[He] said, ‘Dad went into the water and he didn’t come out,’ ” she recalled.

Her stepson swore his dad was missing and presumed drowned, she said.

“If these allegations are true, this is one of the most despicable acts I have ever seen,” Leeds said.

Police confirmed that Jonathan Roth called 911 to report his dad missing near the beach’s Field 6 in an area where there were no lifeguards. Jonathan could not be reached for comment.

Interesting that his wife began to notice behavior changes in January. After SG's body was found. Maybe he is the drifter. He sure seems to travel alot.

I wonder why he was getting in trouble at work to cause his demotion.

It's a darn shame the son felt threatened that his dad would kill him if he didn't go along with the plan.

I don't know if RR is 'our weirdo' or not but he certainly raises concerns for me and here's why. (other than what's on Just K's list above) He lost his job at Level 3 Communications so perhaps he no longer has the tech tools that he once had access to at work in order to remain stealth. (And we know the SK enjoys playing phone games.) The loss of his job, accompanied with him no longer having the ability to remain anonymous to set up his 'dates' may have caused him to change his m.o. We know Sk's won't stop. It was very brazen for him to leave his van and enter the check cashing biz impersonating a police officer. I read that he smelled of alcohol. IMO, he gets angry and sloppy when he drinks. He has anger issues with women which is documented in news reports. (broke wife's nose & stalking woman into check cashing biz) moo and sorry no links as I'm still catching up.

My thoughts exactly. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...LISK is a heavy drinker. I'd bet my farm on that. And he's a careless, malicious drunk, imo. RR fits that decription to a T. In addition to that, I recall when he faked his suicide, I took notice immediately because it coincided with something (can't recall what) that had gone on in the LISK case. I'll have to backtrack through my posts to refresh my memory, but there are just ALOT of things about RR that sets off huge red flags for me, especially with this new information about impersonating a police officer. (Wasn't it Lorraine Ela who recieved a call at work from someone pretending to be LE?)

On the other hand...cetain things about him (in his current state anyway) just don't feel right for him being LISK.

Maybe I need to start on my right nails for awhile. ;)

yup-regardless of being lisk or not, he needs to be off the streets---too many guys like this out there

If I were the part of the official team investigating this case, I think I would recommend issuing a few search warrants for both the home RR put on the market, right before his disappearing act, and another for any storage units.
 
One more thing:
My Life states that the wife is 36 years old. If they have been together for 16 years now and they married almost 13 years ago, ER would have been in approx 20-21 when they met and he 32-33.
 
I would hope that long by now LE would have done some voice comparisons between this RR character and the many calls made by the LISK to MB's sister. If they have actual recordings.
 
Maybe JTerry or DS should give a listen, too.
