What a horrifying directive:

"Get in or on your home"

with my typing skill set it came out initially as

"Get in or on your hoe"

Really super happy I caught it!! But

cracked my self up!!

Unreal video

"This is a different animal" reporter

Officials advising residents not to go to their attic. Go to the roof. Per CNN

Live video I am seeing a stray car approaching totally flooded expressway parts .

And I am thinking what are these people thinking stay home.

Then I thought maybe they dont have power and have no clue how bad it is?

stay home jeeezzzzzzzzzz

Weather dude local

Tropical storms produce the most rainfall in the nightime as temps change tonight is going to be pretty much as bad as last night was which is hard to comprehend

News crew trapped on expressway

1000 high water evacs thus far

I wish there was some way I could rescue some of the family pets that will be in peril, too :(. This is all just so awful. Praying for Houston.

That is not good as that is exactly how many people died in New Orleans ..they got trapped in their attic with no way out once the waters rose even further.

:praying:

Hopefully "we" have learned from whatever rescue mistakes happened during that storm.

I would have no clue how to get on my roof its not flat

Everyone who may be in a hurricane should keep axes in their attic so they can use it to hack through their rooftop if necessary. Most likely they have lost power so a electric saw or a saws-all would not work unless it is battery operated.

I knew this was going to get much worse before it gets better and the rains are going to come down for a few more days. :( Its just begun for some.

This is so scary. This page has a lot of recent updates:

First responders, risking their lives to save others, are having a tough time keeping up with the calls. There have been more than 500 rescues, Chief Acevedo said.
Emergency officials in Houston are urging everyone not to call 911 unless your life is in danger.

Five people have died in the Houston area in unconfirmed flood-related deaths, according to the National Weather Service.

The hardest hit areas appear to be south of I-45.

They've had 15 to 30 inches of rain in six hours. [per CNN, they could get ANOTHER 30 inches!]

Several bayous are out of their banks or close to it.
As for the immediate forecast for Houston, we have a 100 percent chance of rain through Tuesday. Houston could receive 15 to 20 inches of rain before this is over.

''Found an update for this one:

It was retweeted more than 1,000 times. Two hours later, she tweeted that they were safe.
"Got picked up by fire and rescue. Thank You. One of you had connections and all I can say is I'll be eternally grateful."
