Staying!
I think you are near me. Are you staying or leaving?

I have family down there. 3 adults and 2 dogs and 4 cats, all are now out from Dunedin as to yesterday at 5:15 am and headed up north to here in another state when most was green as to the interstates. The others, 3 family locations and lots of friends, (including one on what inlet of Tampa Bay :gaah: still down there. )

Be safe dear!

... and understand your comment about living through before. We used to, as a family in the 60's, go TO where the hurricane was coming! Go figure, but we loved to do body surfing before hurricanes in the really big waves on the other coast. Yep, that was how it was in the 60's. We had no idea of the damage, we just loved the big waves on the other side of the state and had a great time travelling to body surf and surf in big waves before hurricanes.

Most young folks won't get this (lol, I don't, but lived through) but it was GREAT FUN in Florida to have bad weather and waves to surf. We took our dogs surfing, and had great memories and they are fond memories.

I digress, but.. that's what is was like for Floridians longgggggggggggggggggggg ago.

Note that this was waaaaaaaaaaaaay before radar on tv, and we only had those paper latitude/longitude maps and were happily ignorant!

Yoo hooooo, Henry and others.... What does the above post mean?

I had a good long cry last night after seeing the devastation caused in the islands by Irma and hearing the horrifying stories from my military buddies who are doing disaster recovery. To all of you in the path of Irma, please stay safe and get out if you should. My thoughts are with all of you!

Just as an interesting aside, yet relevant.

I was calling about my car insurance. They gave me a 15% discount for some stuff 'cause I complained. But the person said they were NOT allowed corporately now to rewrite any coverage on homes or cars due to the hurricane.

An aside, but thought would put that out there for y'all.

If people are struggling to evacuate the Keys that would be utterly catastrophic for them, trapped with nowhere to go. The death toll could be shocking.

Bringing this over from Harvey thread for CARIIS:

Ugh
have been going non stop with this stuff

do get neurotic

i do not have cell

it occurred to me yesterday when power goes out exacly what is it you think you are going to do

avid reader avid library addict but in the last decade or so internet

so I go to library

I now now that there are many florida folks here

its the alfaya trail branch off 50 (6 lanes)

See this little baby running around 50 at least people stopped

long and short of it it the little rascal went (this was good- off 50) into a neighborhood.

Dirty dirty doggie

gave her a bath

well now I have two babies really dont know what I am going to do if were all ok after Irma

I had neurotic things to do ! Am pooped was not expecting to be trying to capture a baby being bathing doggie haveing to manage introductions into Ladlies house

was anxiety producing

athen i thought I wiped going to check out whats been happening here still have three days

so here i sit with 8 legs on the bed

this is somewhat trapped noone is taking in dogs there is the biggest hurricane in histroy coming

so what this translates to is now there are going to be attachment issues in 5 days

and no I have guilt there were no tags the animal was filthy and is running around 6 lanes of traffic so if someone is missing there baby so be it -- you take care of them

I would be much more guilty if the animal was clean -- then someone is missing there baby

you tag your bablies so if they get out you can get them back.

I am pooped but will brush her some more later -- just wanted to be still now for a minute

if your dog is going to take me shifts to untangle her hair you dont deserve to have her

lady love bug did fine with her thus far

however i was really at same of not going out and dog hunting before a monster storm is coming

keeping ladies leash on until I know all is well

miss lady love but is alway welcome on the bed - this is confusing to me cause the new little rascal is quite bed oriented as well

so that makes me think at some level there was a naturing human

but as new fur girl as calmed down she is quiiet a snuggler bedwise as well

Lady and I are very snuggle bed entites

but for the next several days lady love bug most know she is the star

cant tell what is going on right now tho cause rascal ( that will be name ) is close to me lady is a little further away but I do not want lady to think things like this

but it has been very difficult managing it all she was wet lady knows how to open the doors freaked me out cause rascal was in the bathroom and lady jumped up and let rascal out and I had stuff in my hand and now I have a wet rascal running around , lady sniffing did not know what lady was going to

I am dripping sweat

intialy rascal did a lot of rearing up to try to get off the leash which scared me i am not a muchkin doggie owner!!

Rascal is about 3 pounds so I was scared she would get off the leash

and run away again

will try and look up and see what breed she is

drying out but she look like Phyliiss Dylar her hair is such a wreck

even after some initial brushing efforts this pretty well wraps it up

hqdefault.jpg

anyone in orlando know where to take rascal tomm

cant have two dogs where I live -- ??

I do not know how his family does not worry when he puts himself in the thick of things, but bless him.

I'm #TexasStrong

for those of you in the path, I pray for you and your families and pets! Please evacuate if your local officials tell you to and if you hunker down, I pray your safety
