This was taken while I was at the gate looking east. If the bikes were found here, then if I was coming in from the east on my bike, I would clearly see the girls bikes laying across the trail way before I came to them, so I wouldn't have to "suddenly" swerve. You can see that the trail is pretty straight here. If I was coming in from the parking lot and stopped at the restroom to call my husband, then follow the trail and suddenly swerve cause I almost hit the girls bikes, than cool cause there is a slight curve there. But... didn't I say I saw the girls bikes first, swerved to miss them, then went to the restroom and called my husband? ....I need more coffee.

if it were this guy guilty or not he can't help spilling the beans about anything. he's been found guilty about breaking the law before..serious awful things and still talks about it and says he didn't do it..yes right! I also know a man that was investigated at the start after the girls were found. The F.B.I questioned him and searched his farm buildings guess what? He told everyone. its true because his family member confirmed it. this guy is weird and has been in public view before. yes they talk. i wouldn't either! Totally agree but we are normal Whatever that is..lol

Have I told you lately that I really appreciate your posts? Honestly, the people you have info regarding fit into my "feeling" of who this perp could be.

(1) JMO, the perp has previously committed a crime. He was young. It was his first offense and he got off "light". He did not serve much "hard" time. He was young and "they" believed he could be "rehabilitated." He may have attended a trades school while in prison because that is part of the "rehabilitation" process.

(2) After being released, said perp is followed closely as he is still on probation. He stays on his medications, is able to get a job and meets his probation requirements. "They" believe he has been rehabilitated. The perp has convinced them. In reality, he still thinks/fantasizes about abducting/kidnapping someone. He stops taking his meds. Reality begans to mix with fantasy and the thoughts become obsessive.

(3) He has stopped his meds. Probably dabbling in other drugs, perhaps alcohol, Rx drugs (narcotics), meth, etc. Maybe still has a job, maybe not. Has free time that he spends driving around looking for potential victims. He spends a lot of time planning what he would do if he comes upon a potential victim.

Like you, I think if this guy had been questioned by LE regarding the girls, he could not help spilling the beans about it. He thinks he is smarter than LE. He's already fooled people into thinking he's rehabilitated or that he's not smart enough to pull off an abduction of anyone, let alone two little girls. He may be on LE's radar, but he's got an alibi. It may be family members covering for him, or co-workers covering for him.

Thank you for calling in your suspicions. I believe you did the right thing. Also, I very much appreciate your local perspective and your investigative work for Lyric and Elizabeth!

My thoughts/opinions/gut feelings are....
I believe there were 2 perps, both males, probably in their 30s. I think they were both well known to Lyric, Elizabeth too, but Lyric more so. I feel Lyric was the target. I feel Lyric was told in advance by one of the perps to meet them somewhere at a certain time that day, for whatever reason they mave have given her, such as we or I will take you for ice cream, take you for a ride, take you to the lake swimming, or whatever it may have been. Why do I think Lyric was the target, for a couple reasons...1) Lyric more than likely had witnessed and or been the victim of many things such as drug use/abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, something of the like. 2) If Lyric would have been abducted by herself, I think it may have made it way more obvious of who the perps were, so I truly believe Elizabeth was a victim of circumstance.
Why did these perps do this? I feel they benefited in more than one way (at least in their sick, criminal minds anyway) They were both at the time of the abduction (and probably still) facing rather extensive prison time. This abduction not only eliminated a very important part of history and their past – Lyric – but also extended the amount of free time that they had, and also they really had/have nothing to lose, as the perps end results will still be the same (no matter how many innocent lives they take in the meantime)...but they have enjoyed the extra free time for now.
I do strongly feel there are others who know who did this to these two innocent little girls but they fear for their lives and others around them and therefore will not come forward
Now I will get ready to hide behind brick wall because I'm sure there are at least a few who will pick my theories/opinions/thoughts to pieces, piece by piece, but it is ONLY my theory, my feelings, my thoughts

Please don't hide! We need you! I agree with what you are saying too. If Lyric was the intended target and was familiar with the perp/perps, even perhaps she had been "groomed", she might have been lured more easily. Although, I think Elizabeth could have been easily enticed as well with "come see my puppy". But, when lured to the location and there was no puppy and there is inappropriate touching or something to that effect, Elizabeth may have well been the one who said "this is not right and I'm telling my momma!" This is where things went horribly wrong. Perp could not have anyone telling on him. He's older and he knew being caught a second time he would not get off as light as he did the first time. He got scared and killed both girls.

Not sure if my computer sound isn't working (I heard the commercial just fine) or if it was just a clip of Dan after the judged granted the change of venue?? I have to say that is my favorite picture of Lyric that is shown...Beautiful child as was Elizabeth! And that's about all I can say about that... :banghead: :silenced:

In Alicia Debolt's case (KS) there was a young hispanic guy thought to be a good POI and brought in by LE for a couple of "talks". He got on FB and was livid...yet scared at the same time; and was sincere when he talked about Alicia and her parents. You could see thru to the real kid from those posts vs his prior posts of partying, cussing and his buds. The real perp, a 37 yr old career criminal had made up a good story pointing the finger at him. However, the real perp was willing to do quite an interview with local news as long as they didn't show his face. It was mind blowing how you could hear the way he was thinking, etc. Hours later, in the wee of the morning, he stole a company vehicle and was headed out of state to be long gone.....NOT.

Interesting story. I guess people react in all kinds of ways to a situation like that.

My opinion and a couple of dollars might buy you a decent cup of coffee, but opinions are all I have to offer at the moment!

My belief is that, whether they knew the person/people or not, either both girls were wanted or Lyric was the intended target. If at least one of the girls knew the person/people then I would say they were both wanted for one reason or another. Someone who knew them (or one of them) could have easily found a time when the two weren't together if only one was wanted/needed; taking one of them at another time would almost have to be easier than taking both of them.

If neither of the girls knew the person/people, I would think that both of them were wanted. If only a smaller girl like Elizabeth was wanted, I can't see many perps willing to take on an extra girl who is the size of a small adult. If only Lyric was wanted, Elizabeth doesn't seem like she'd look like that much of an extra threat. In my mind, however, It just seems to me like either both girls were wanted or Lyric was wanted and maybe the person/people didn't want to take her too close to home to divert attention from that area.

Absolutely! And thank you for clearing up any confusion (not you Confusion - :seeya I may have caused. I....welll... I'm at a loss of words regarding first theory, but understand why it could make this case so unusual and why LE is not saying anything. Either it is one person or a whole busload of related people who are aware of what happened and if one person speaks a whole lot of people are going to have to pay the price.

I think it's careless phrasing. There were four changes of venue. One of the four was Dan's case.

JaneDoe said she didn't hear anything on the video either. Uhmmmmm.... Let's just say when I watched it..... no sound..... they are following the dad around and then all of sudden a picture of his daughter pops up followed by a picture of his niece, words were not really necessary. Probably just me though.

Yes, the wording in the article is contradictory. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the first case is the domestic violence charge ? So, do we know if the other three cases will be moved? This article doesn't clear things up very much. I'm confused again. :waitasec:

I had never been so disgusted and revolted by such a perp. It was clear he had no idea what it was like on the outside after spending his whole adult life in and out of prison...nor did he try to discover what freedom could be. He was out in May, started luring on AD in July and by the end of Aug she was bound, abused, dead and burned after she ageed to meet him. Another sickening aspect to the case was he was brought to the area by a local woman who penpal-ed him while he was in prison in TX. Yep, she moved him in......and she had a boy and a girl a little younger than 14 yr old Alicia. THEN....in her testimony she said she still would consider marrying this (*&&*&* but she wanted to see all what the investigation uncovered. I wanted to throttle her!! He even used her to get rid of evidence...like a blood stained shirt..."if she loved him".:what: This was a 30 something yr old mother! No drug use was ever discovered.....just a very lonely female with some serious image problems...and not too quick or in total denial. OFF rant.

The spot the girls where the bikes were found has lots of tree cover in the summer months. You cannot see that part of the trail where there are two fences from the highway in the summer. It's also a spot you cannot see from the parking lot at the park or from the road on s. Evans. The only spot that you cannot see is where they found the bikes.

I don't think I realized before how isolated that spot on the trail was.

That makes me incline very strongly to bad luck as the primary factor -- that the person(s) who took them was lurking in the blind spot waiting for a victim. Could be either somebody they knew who had set them up, or a random predator looking for a victim. It's certainly not the only possibility.
