There are posters who don't know how to use the forum software platform. So, for instance, they don't know how to delete their own post and instead press "edit" and then overwrite their previous entry with dots or some thing as a way of a deletion, rather than pressing "edit" then pressing "delete."

In addition you'll see some posters add a post "marking their spot" because they don't know how to check for new posts in a watched thread and this is the only thing they can figure out.

It's not difficult to learn how to do basic things like delete or check new posts in a thread, but some don't take the time or ask how, if they can't figure it out.

Personally I think it should be a requirement to learn the very basics of using forum functions.

I am so excited someone finally learned how to delete a post because it has been driving me and many others crazy that we cannot figure it out. Would you mind posting step by step screenshots of what we need to do (ie what buttons we need to click). Thank you so much, I know many of us will appreciate this!

I am brand new to the sight and don't know how to do that yet, but it was discussed at great length, back in threads 3, 4, 5 and more but I'm sure someone else more experienced could find it faster, , I will go back and try to find something. It was back in the beginning, but it was debated so much i wouldnt know where to look first. I just tried to summarize it for you so you wouldnt have to spend a long time looking back at the threads
Sorry i was trying to respond to the question about the significance to the contacts!!!! I think my post ended up in the wrong place

It's frustrating being a member of the public and not privy to what's going on behind the scenes of cases and getting no feedback from the investigators. Such is the plight of the lowly case follower; it's always the same: wait and see and hope for a resolution to a situation. And then when there is, it's a very long wait until a case finally gets litigated.

Even if the first attempt was unsuccessful? Perhaps that's why this hypothetical kidnapper drove over 400 miles to another state before he tried again. Just being devil's advocate here, I'm usually the last person in the world to turn to a "serial" anything theory, maybe it's just because it's late here.

Haha, that's me too - am I just tired or have I gone completely off my rocker, lol?:eek:o_O

Respectfully, this I’m not so sure about. Sometimes a perp can be on a hot streak (forgot the Forensic term for it)...hot phase, no that’s not it...I’ve seen cases where victims are attacked back to back, 24 hours specifically, would have to research but I do believe it has occurred.

I believe the term when used in the context of a serial rapist/killer is "cooling off period".

Even considering that it was an unsuccessful kidnapping?
I was corrected on that fact, and it definitely changes things. It drew a lot of attention so maybe, maybe not. It being a failure certainly opens the door a bit.

I absolutely do. And I don’t think she anticipated how big of a deal this would become. She’s scared to death now of the backlash and ramifications if she just comes home. And whoever provided her ride out of town is terrified too.

~This is interesting, hope you're right... Can you tell me why you feel this way, that this was voluntary? Any other strong feelings, maybe about who she left with?
More than anything, three weeks into this investigation we still have no evidence at all to suggest there was foul play involved. Nothing. If LE had anything to confirm foul play those cards would be on the table by now.

I certainly don't think the fact that they asked him questions for 5-10 minutes "clearly suggests" he has no alibi. For all we know he could have told them he saw a black SUV parked near his property and they have follow-up questions.
A fair point and I might totally agree if it had not been for those two pesky stalking charges in his background.
As a math major (when Nixon was in the WH) I try my best to deal with probability and statistics. I am not saying WC is necessarily the perpetrator. But I do suggest that the fact the FBI is talking to him (again) is more likely (but not dispositive) to suggest suspicion than witness.

Cheers. We'll just have to disagree on this one, Alethea.

If LE is so sure she is a crime victim...the “why Mollie is missing” question makes no sense. They asked it more than once, of the public.
It's possible that LE did not have her digital footprint at the time they asked this question.

Because we have so much digital information at our fingertips, it's a misconception that LE has the same access. There are warrants which have to be served and information which has to be compiled. It doesn't happen as quickly as one might think.

I've followed recent cases when the digital footprint took weeks to be delivered. And some of it comes more quickly than others. I believe that her digital footprint is trickling in, with each one providing more clues.

There may not be any physical evidence of her disappearance - that we're aware of - but her digital footprint will tell LE a lot if it hasn't already. I believe her digital footprint is what has led LE to WC's property. And they continue to return to his property as it trickles in because they have more questions.

I've posted in a previous thread that I thought MT went missing after 9:45 pm. Then I thought she never returned to home after her early evening run. I think her run included a path to retrieve the vehicle but she never got to complete that part of her journey. The question would then become: how far along was MT in her journey to her mother's house before the event occurred?

Exactly! I've been thinking about the two sightings of her and then nothing. If she was heading towards her mom's house, I don't think she ran along the highway. Given that she ran from her house along Pershing towards the Funeral Home, I think she would run the backroads to her mom's house. I'll post a map in a minute ... let me add what I think is a likely route. Maybe as a group we can figure it out.

Guernsey itself is flat with hills to the north and east of town - during the short time I was there - I saw nothing that caught my eye as being out of the ordinary. The only bodies of water, et al I saw were the typical farm pond.
I'm wondering if "bog" is referring to the pond behind a hog farm where the liquid waste drains? I've always heard that called a lagoon, but as this area doesn't really have a swampland I don't know what else "bog" could mean around here.

Torched? I don't think so. What makes Mollie different from so many others is that it can be ruled out that Mollie ran away. She was preparing to attend a family wedding in the Dominican Republic in a matter of days. She had just ordered a passport, so clearly she hasn't done a lot of traveling. She had a job to do in the morning and was especially needed because of the field trip. She was a responsible young woman with goals, dreams, responsibilities, and a life to live. It is obvious that she was abducted. The fact that this happened without a trace makes it a bigger concern.

Because there is another unsolved abduction of young women and girls within an hour of Brooklyn, which also involved the FBI, it is really important that the cases are compared and analyzed. The FBI needs to figure out what they are dealing with: one predator, or two random unrelated events.

Some have speculated that a mature looking 10 year old girl and a 5'3" 20 year old would never appeal to the same predator. I disagree. There are examples of predators who preferred young women, but targeted girls first simply because they are easier to abduct.
Wonderfully stated, and I completely agree. On your last point, even though Ted Bundy preferred college age women, his last victim was a 12 year old girl.

I’ve been involved in suicide cases .... more than not.. the victim has googled and researched how to successfully do it either by hanging, overdose or gunshot. If they have her computer im sure these types of searches would have been discovered by now .

I would hate to think what conclusion would be drawn from my Google searches should I ever go missing.

That's possible, but I was always far sighted (until I had my cataracts removed last month and got new lenses put in), and they got bad enough that I needed them for driving eventually. I also couldn't make out facial features of people I was talking to without them. What I do know is that when looking at someone with glasses, things (especially their eyes) look bigger through the lenses if they're far-sighted and smaller if they're near-sighted. Her eyes look bigger with her glasses on, and things you can see partially through the lens look bigger through the lens than the part outside the lens. If someone in her family said she is near-sighted, I'll take their word for it, but her case doesn't fit with what I've seen over the years. MOO
Yes, I'm not sure if they actually said nearsighted, but I got the idea that's what they meant if she couldn't see road signs. Also that she couldn't see anything without them. I thought people who were far sighted just need them to see close. Like for reading. Also she is young and it's not as common to be far sighted until you are older. There is an optometrist on the site maybe she will see this and explain.

Certainly it's possible - but what (seemingly) very well grounded 20 year old girl with - a great future/career ahead, boyfriend of 3 years, loving and close family, trip to DR, etc, etc takes a pass and goes where? And why?????
Where and why, I have no idea. But there are a whole lot of assumptions in that one sentence... I don't know whether a psychology degree is a path to a great future or not, it's certainly a path to a lot of debt. No idea how strong her bond to her boyfriend is. Seems certain members of the family are a lot more loving and close than others. Not sure she was all that excited about an in-laws wedding in the DR either. It would be fair to say we don't know this girl at all and have no idea what she's thinking.

More than anything, three weeks into this investigation we still have no evidence at all to suggest there was foul play involved. Nothing. If LE had anything to confirm foul play those cards would be on the table by now.

From Wikipedia:

Chandra “Levy was last seen on May 1, 2001. The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia was first alerted on May 6, when Levy's parents called from Modesto to report that they had not heard from their daughter in five days. Police called hospitals and visited Levy's apartment in Dupont Circle that day, finding no indication of foul play. “

No indication of foul play.
