I have done a complete 180 after this new PC.
I think:
-Stranger that has done this before/attempted before & gotten away with it as in Sierah Joughrin’s tragic case
-While jogging
-Male
-I think it’s someone who is very familiar with Brooklyn but doesn’t live there.

But LE said the general public needn't feel fearful.

My thought also. 385 is remote and runs into v21. Turn left towards rt6, and right about where NE red dot covers is a small bridge over Big Bear Creek. Toss the phone in the creek as you go over, then turn around and go ~30 minutes down v21 to the SE red dot. Toss the fit-bit.

The western most red dot. past BF house just another entrance or exit into town. The Truck stop and Car wash would be places with lots of activity (extra eyes) to supplement video.

Theory - I believe the perp/perps knew WC's past history, started out as you say, took Mollie, but stayed South on v21, destroyed/buried the phone/fitbit in WC's area, and turned East on a backroad to get rid of Mollie, and then continued on this way home somewhere on backroads to the Northeast.

Jmo it was too late to ask for detailed info from four weeks ago. Many people probably did not pay close attention to her being missing for a couple of days...even then it can be difficult to recall one average day from another. And not asking people to search their properties is baffling. Imo they can’t know she was taken out of the area until they know where she is.

Any local could have done this...and been back before dark or not much after. From other cases, it seems within a 20 or so mile range is likely as to where she may be. The longer he has her alive in his vehicle, the more danger to himself of being pulled over, in a wreck etc...they may have spoken to the perp and he “passed” their interview.

I fail to see how people can think they have a suspect. Jmo

I completely agree with everything you said. I am extremely frustrated with LE for not asking the public this information from DAY ONE. If this was my child, I’d want this information to be asked of the public from DAY ONE!

I think given MT’s bubbly personality, college age, activity, they were deadset on finding the perp within the family/friend/acquaintance circle and now LE realizes they shot themselves in the foot because they could have a serial perp on their hands like Sierah Joughrin had.

Bet if you ran a poll in Brooklyn you'd find out those words never soothed one Mom in Brooklyn.
Only way they will feel there family is safe once a arrest occurs.

Unless they've found the Fitbit, where it was tossed is unlikely to matter, I think. As I understand it, you'll only get data from it if it's synced with the phone, or if you have it in your physical possession. So--once the phone was tossed in the creek--no more info.

My question is why LE does not feel the public is at risk when they are pleading the public to keep an eye out for a list of unusual behaviors in people we know?

Looking for backup of the perp they have in mind. Just building their case.

Am I the only one who had a problem with them throwing that phrase in at the end? Usually there's a big "but" that follows on the heels of it.

It bothered me as well. I think it's because they have a good idea about "when" and some clues as to "where", but they don't have the "how" or "why" nailed down. So, they fall back to statistics which say that most likely it is not random.

Maybe I'm reading too much in to it, but the 5pm time frame seems a bit earlier than previously discussed. I'm guessing they just have some reason to be curious about the time leading up to whatever they suspect happened to her- this makes sense if they do have a perp in mind (maybe they knew the person was in town starting around 5 or something of that nature).

They aren't casting doubt that she was dropped off at 5:30 and texting with her mom though, right? If I read those two paragraphs together, it kind of sounds like they are. But, if I keep them as separate thoughts in my mind, I think it means that she hasn't been credibly seen or heard from since she was seen running, and then separately, they also want to hear from people at those spots from 5-10pm.
Just my thoughts.


Reading between the lines: Brooklyn is a destination town, i.e., unless you live there, you don't just happen upon it without a purpose. What event or purpose brings someone to Brooklyn on a weekday evening? Some have indicated Wednesday evenings are often Church functions. Mid July is also prime softball/baseball season and there was a Little League Tournament at 7pm the week prior to Mollie missing. Any other sports event on July 18 that would bring a "spectator" to town. Divorced Dad's are often spectators at ball games. May even meet kids in town for dinner prior to ball game. Just more brain-storming... COME HOME MOLLIE!

I'm not sure if it was the 18th, the Wednesday before, or the Wednesday after that I recognized my old algebra teacher from 25 years prior at the park I was rollerblading and jogging at. The same night I saw that the marching band was practicing. Does Iowa have marching bands? How about football practice? I was also thinking maybe she could have run into a boy that had a highschool crush on her that came back into town to visit family during the break. Maybe he confessed his feelings and she didn't reciprocate.

Regarding the PC... from someone who is invested in this but lives far away, the new map with red dots doesn’t do anything for me... I was looking at the same areas, map, highway, streets with or without red dots for weeks now.

Yes, we have no shortage of deer in Iowa. Common to see them in harvested corn fields in the Autumn and Winter. Harder to spot them in filled fields but they do dart onto rural roads.

There was a hit deer on the Sheriff’s call log. Don’t remember which day. I think the 19th or 20th.

I believe that LE is doing their best, and may be closing in on what has happened to Mollie, and who is responsible. Having said that, if I were her family, as we get to the one month anniversary of her disappearance, I might be looking at hiring a private investigator. JMO

I would have got minimum one at the get-go. But I'm hyper that way. I'm always a step ahead if I can help it. edit, that said, am leaving now to drive in a bad neigh for a dark sky to look at leonids, & leaving a note where i'll be on kitchen counter; saying this as maybe it's smart for women to leave little notes lying around in life........

re: LE putting out a plea for people to start diming out their neighbors for not keeping up their lawn, voting for the wrong candidate for dogcatcher or staying out at the bar late on a school night:

possible LE had a suspect they really liked and worked that angle in a tunnel-vision manner (as LE has a tendency to do) and then in recent days got definitive info that this POI wasn't the right guy.

It does feel like they are resetting a bit by casting as wide of a net as possible.

How many are reconsidering the possibility that the same predator is responsible for Mollie and the Evansdale cousins?

IMO, you have to keep that on the table. My reaction relates to how quickly a team of FBI showed up in Brooklyn and other possible similarities.
