I saw the screen off as well, but I know in my time in college houses; we were lucky if we had interior doors. Missing screens is a pretty common occurrence and they may just have been too young to care/notice/call their landlord.
True. It may not have been to a window that raised either, who knows.

That’s what I was thinking. Someone in the house would have the time (since the 911 call was made almost 9 hours later) to shower and clean clothes. They’ll check the drains and washing machine for any evidence of blood but something tells me it was an inside job. You don’t sleep until noon and wake up to a massacre then call 911 and say there’s an unconscious person here. Unconscious? They were butchered. I’d say there was a murder here. The late call from the house has me wondering how in the world someone could carry this out and they didn’t wake up?? Slept til noon? This is so creepy. The police initial statement also makes me think they may have thought it was an inside job then ruled that out so now they’re warning kids to watch out for each other. This reminds me of the Ted Bundt story. Everyone blends in on a college campus. No one remembers to lock the door or assumes someone else did. I’m sure there was more than one entry but why not the other 2? Did they not know they were there? Something isn’t making sense and I keep going back to that food truck video and that guy who sees the camera and puts his hood up. He looks toward the camera several times. Have they identified him? His actions were so bizarre. The girls were not interested. My gut tells me there’s more to that video. He didn’t all of a sudden get cold. He actually looked straight at the camera then flipped his hat around and put up his hood and stood back the remainder of the video. That creeps me out. IMO
It is not crazy that they were asleep through the murders until noon. Unfortunately, Orsolya Gaal's son was sleeping upstairs while his mother was arguing with her killer before being stabbed 50 times and was woken by police the next day. Also, we do not actually know that they slept through it. This is speculation, but it is possible they woke up to commotion, and hid in their closet (or somewhere) and maybe didn't have their phone in hiding and were too scared to grab it.
I am a college student and the same age as the victims. Personally, after a night of drinking and staying up till the early morning, I normally wake up later than noon and sleep like a rock. This is nothing unusual at all for most college kids I know.
I cannot imagine what the roommates are going through.

It's shocking to see these photos by Fox News dated Monday, Nov 14 -- only one day after the deceased bodies of the residents were discovered. I don't know if the photographer snuck up to the house in the evening hours but I'd feel better knowing the crime scene/evidence was being guarded on Monday.

It appears red evidence marking tape is stuck on the windows and sliding glass door in the above photos.

Also eerie to see Kaylee's new Range Rover and most likely Xana Kernodle's Honda Civic (i.e., AZ tags) parked in front of the entrance.

It looks like the red tape is only on window glass or the frames. Would these be marking fingerprint sites?

Do you have reason to believe that a man was living there? Everything so far has said 5 women lived there with an overnight male guest the night of the murders.
Yes I think its a possibility that a male lived there as a roommate. It has never been officially confirmed that the 2 spared roommates were girls. There were 6 rooms

I'm sure this person is being looked at carefully. There is a lot of speculation that he is connected to the girls and may have been a sober driver or just "escorting" them to get food. I'm hopeful Ring cameras or any surveillance footage is being combed through to cross this person off a list and possibly identify a suspect.
One more add, small town, not many hotels, hopefully LE has visited everyone and checked not only cameras but drivers licenses and room registration records. AMOO

Yes he was a guest but the 2 other roommates that were not killed did not have their gender revealed
Ethan Chapin's mother revealed in her lengthy interview with King 5 News which I previously liked linked that the tenants were 5 females, and her son's girlfriend that was also murdered was one of the five women.

From everything I've read, I feel it was probably a guy who got rejected by one of the girls. He entered through the second level sliding door, attacked Maddie and Kaylee on the top level. That possibly that caused enough noise to wake Ethan/Xana on the middle level, which was why he attacked them as well. I'm thinking the other housemates survived because the killer either wanted to get out of there immediately after the attack on Ethan/Xana or he didn't know there were any other housemates on the lower level.

<modsnip - bystanders are off limit unless/until LE says otherwise>

I also think the surviving housemates were completely unaware of what had happened upstairs, whether they were insulated from the noise or just in a deep sleep. I think they were still in bed the morning the bodies were found (having been a uni student myself, being in bed until noon on a weekend is highly believable), maybe texted a friend to come over, and the friend came in and saw Ethan and ran out and called the police. The whole "unconscious" thing is probably being overthought. They were probably freaking out and just told the 911 operator they saw someone lying there, etc. didn't know if they were alive or not.

I'm so sad for these girls, and their friends/family. I hope they catch whoever did it asap. It's crazy to me there isn't even a suspect yet, if that's the truth. For everyone's sake, I'm hoping they have some leads and they're just saying they don't to throw off the killer.

I also thought of the Orsolya Gaal case. I think that’s the reason the officers haven’t said who called in the 911 call is because people will automatically assume it’s that person, or either way if it was or wasn’t the two other roommates people would further speculate about them, as well. At 3 or 4 am people are in very deep sleep and can sleep through this, as evidenced by multiple cases. My state had an attack this year where the parents were attacked and being stabbed in their bedroom, the mother even ran out of the house to a neighbor’s for help while the dad was fighting. There was screaming and fighting going on. (Luckily both survived). The children slept through the whole thing and weren’t harmed or attacked, probably because they continued sleeping. It’s not crazy to me that college students would/could sleep in until noon or later the next day on a weekend.

As for the 911 call-in, we don’t know if the caller stated someone was “unconscious” or if that’s how the responders entered it until police could get over there. If someone on site did call it in as someone being unconscious, it could have been a friend coming to visit who saw them through a window. It also could have been the surviving roommate(s) who were in shock and not thinking clearly when they called 911. Can you imagine waking up to find someone who has been stabbed to death? Your body might shut down and you would be feeling extremely fearful, having no idea when it occurred or if you were at risk. Maybe they even saw one of the victims and in fear ran out of the house and so they didn’t have time or wherewithal to take stock of the scene in totality or maybe they were in disbelief, ran out of the house, and then didn’t believe what they had seen so gave fewer details to police because they weren’t sure if they really saw what they saw.

Right? Something about that phrasing bothered me. It felt too flimsy.
I think this is might be overthought. It doesn't sound great but on camera, sometimes people just don't know what to say. I was interviewed after a similar attack and I have no idea what I said. I can see myself accidentally saying something that doesn't sound great because I was either in shock or just didn't have the words to express how terrible the situation was.

Some names can be used for both male and females. I think this is where the confusion might be coming from. IYKWIM
