Noting that I find it odd they are looking for 2011-2013 when that generation of Elantra went from 2011-2015. It was redesigned it in 2011, then has a "facelift" in 2014 where some lights/ reflectors were moved at least on the back of the vehicle.

This means that what they are looking for has that slight difference before the 2014 facelift. They should really point that out.

If the vehicle come from interstate, FBI will query the national licence database for stolen vehicles. Stolen plates might trigger the police media release.
The occupants maybe foreign national and the vehicle from South America say
Are there any toll roads/bridges in the area?

It is a college town. That would be a perfect car for a student.
Maybe it would be more accurate if I speculated it wasn’t owned by someone who registered it in Moscow. It does seem like a perfect car for a college kid and I bet it’s not as easy to keep track who owns what car in a college town.

What do you make of LE saying the crime scene was "sloppy", and that K's wounds were worse than the others? I think there could be various reasons for those aspects of it, some which fit in your theory and some which don't.
<rsbm>

Just to clarify, and this may have been addressed upthread, but I believe it was in a newscast that one of the parents claimed LE told them this, so not that the information came directly from LE.

Even expanding it to the 1.9 million people in Idaho and say, the probably sparsely populated counties of western Washington, there is going to be a relatively small number of white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantras.
And add WA since they're close to the border, not to mention how many out of state students. Daunting.

I dont know how many out of state students the University attracts with the exception of academic and athletic scholarship types.

Out of state tuition is steep. And as neighbors have told me, a good number of states verify actual residency of students pretty closely (to say the least) now.

Corner says that they were likely all in bed asleep. Makes me believe that there was no struggle between E and POI outside of bedroom. So why would the killer go upstairs first and kill the 2 girls and then stop on their way out and kill E and X. Looking at the diagram of the house the killer would have to go out of his way to get to E and X room on there way out if indeed they came in thru 2nd floor slider or window

Here's the article in which the coroner is quoted (credit goes to North_Idaho_Nony who posted this:

from? The coroner has said “chest and upper body.”

Right, but she didn’t disclose that X had defensive wounds, only that “some” did, which I think is the point the OP was addressing. JMHO

Is it standard for locations of violent crimes to be blurred on google street? I don’t think I’ve ever done a street view of an ongoing murder investigation before so I’m not sure if it’s a common occurrence or LE is trying to hide something within the image.
No, this is unusual. I've never seen this happen before.

Does it say KG was moving in June or the friend? I think KG was moving earlier and possibly the friend was joining later based on this post.

MOO-- I'm adding this tidbit to my theory that the dog could have been motive for the murder if Kaylee was in fact targeted specifically. This post suggests she planned on taking the dog with her to TX. She was back in town briefly; this would be a good time for a perp to get the dog after spending the weeks she was away frustrated over her taking the dog. The perp commits the murders, but for some reason doesn't get out of the house with the dog or had a plan to get the dog after the news broke. It seems extreme over a dog, but someone committing this crime isn't exactly rational. Murders are committed over custody disputes of children, animals, possessions, etc. We could assume the profile of a person who might have that great of an interest in the dog, but there's still the possibility it's a random mentally unwell person who became obsessed. I wouldn't say this is even in my top 3 theories, but it's worth consideration.

It’s a great start. The uni is even better. Every student attending that school and driving a car should have to register it with the office (as they will most assuredly drive it to campus or keep it on campus if they reside in a dorm). Through the process of patient elimination will the truth be pursued and revealed. Not through inclusion.
Register it with what office? I've spent a lot of time around college campuses and I have never known of an office where a car must be registered, unless one is buying a pass in a parking lot. Is that a practice at the University of Idaho? Looking through quite a few photos, it doesn't look to me like parking is much of a challenge around town. MOO.

Anyone can do it. Maybe the homeowner did it this time. I do not see LE doing this as they know this image is everywhere.

I believe anyone can request to have their home blurred in google street view. We should all do it.

White is the most common vehicle colour

Experienced criminals love white cars. White cars are harder to look for because they are everywhere.
i didn't know this! interesting. i would've thought black is, i've had black cars previously and seems like 1 out of 3 cars i see are black.

The property owner can do so by requesting blur and validating ownership. If LE is behind the blurring, then perhaps they fear people will try to find owners of cars and harass them. I don't know enough about how Google works, but is it possible if 1000 sleuths are trying to look at the same location that google street view glitches?
