I don't really doubt that the other roommates didn't hear anything if what LE says that EACH victim was asleep when they were killed is true. The killer may have quietly gone room by room putting a pillow over the victim's face and stabbing them.

Because of this, I am having a hard time thinking about who the killer could be. If it were truly "targeted" and "personal," they could have stopped after their target. It makes no sense for the murder to be targeted AND kill 2-3 other people in their sleep. That's like dedicated thrill kill or serial killer behavior - where the goal is the killing, not the elimination of a person out of an emotional reasons (love, hate, anger, betrayal).
@Alethea is there a way to check records (publicly) that would show any type of offenders recently released from prison or mental hospitals?

Right. But my comment is still correct. Whether they were the caller or not, they still took the time to summon other friends and wait for them to arrive before anyone called 911.
No, that was never said. There is nothing to say that the surviving roommates were aware of the carnage upstairs before the friends arrived.

just have to say that they WON'T say whose phone the 911 call came from, perhaps to keep media from targeting that survivor. "he didn't say the call was made by a survivor" he also didn't say it wasn't. Bottom line on the 911 call is that it was made from a survivor's phone and the person who made the call is not the murderer and the 2 room-mates are not the murderer. The roommates are not suspects if they were the caller or not. I

I never heard anyone say the girls called friends and waited for them to arrive before someone called 911.

I kept hoping for some questions/clarification on FBI being utilized and any initial ideas. The perp traits, etc. any clarification on behavior analysis division working on it.
Are they - FBI - doing the processing of evidence? (I hope so.)
Does it feel like perhaps there's some evidence that "could" be helpful?
DNA, perhaps?
I'm expecting too much too soon, probably.

11:58 is still early when you’re hungover, too. I can see them staying on their floor even if they had woke up + assuming the other four, who got home later, were asleep
Always what I've thought about the other roommates. If they went to bed late and/or were drinking, it's easy to see them sleeping in and then staying in their rooms until the late morning. Could've been doing homework, texting friends, playing on their phones, etc. and having a lazy Sunday.

Capt. Rodger Lanier specifically, and very pointedly, cleared these people targeted by so much online speculation:

"We do not believe the following individuals are involved in this crime. The two surviving roommates. A male seen at the grub truck vendor downtown specifically wearing a white hoodie. A private party who provided rides home to Kaylee and Madison in the early morning hours of November 13th."

That's it, full stop, end of. Speculation ruins people's lives. I respect WS so much for the strict adherence to posting responsibly.
I would add that Jake and Jack or for that matter anyone has been identified as a poi or suspect so therefore also off limits. If anything they are victims too.

Wow! IMO a very open PC.
From what I gathered and just on my memory
- housemates are not considered persons of interest
- the J that was called is not considered persons of interest
- still considered a targeted attack
Now here is where there are a few question marks
- they will not say that the call to 911 was placed by a housemate (only that it was made using one of their phones)
- reports of the victims being bound and gagged are false
And the big one that was never mentioned before and that I don't think they meant to mention but did

- There were other 'friends' present at the house

Also the fact that they are requesting video surveillance from key areas suggests to me that they might think that there was a 'fifth' person (IE someone other than the victims) that may have been seen with them prior to them arriving home.

All IMO
bolding mine.
This is new to me as well !

Just a general point but if you think LE has never made a mistake, never intentionally or unintentionally released incorrect information, and has never convicted an innocent person, you may want to check out the Innocence Project.

Our justice system is based on an adversarial process where the state has to PROVE their case based on admissible evidence to a jury. You absolutely do not have to believe anyone because they have a fancy title and badge.
Yesss to this! One only needs to look at Adnan to understand how easy it is to convict on circumstantial evidence. IMO
As much as we as 'sleuths' love to speculate, ultimately, it always has to be evidence based and I hope that in this case (as we hope to see in the case of the Delphi murders) we see a strong, confident suspect held to account.

It had one bit of key info which unless he misspoke was to confirm all 4 were asleep when killed. That’s big IMHO as it removes the - killer bumped into some by chance/had to kill them due to witnesses angle - so I’d be asking now what have the 4 got in common compared to the two who were left alone.
I'll assume the two survivors had their bedroom doors locked.

So that means the 2 survivors 1) called friends to come over 2) gave those friends enough time to arrive — and in that time, never called 911 themselves?!? Like what?!
I don’t see it that way. Sounds like some friends showed up and then got with the two survivors. The roommates phone was used bc perhaps one of the survivors dialed 911 and then just could not talk she was so overcome with emotion, so passed the phone off to another. Just my opinion.

The 911 call was not made until almost noon. Not right after the murders. Someone may have had plans with one of the residents and came over and went in the house and found the person they thought was unconcious. Any number of ways a friend might have come to the house. Nothing strange or suspicious that I can see.
I agree i updated my comment

I would scream before ever being touched if I saw an unknown man in my house at night. Lol I spook easily. If someone stabbed me I would scream horrendous sounds that would alert everyone on my street
If someone was stabbed in the heart while sleeping.. they wouldn't be able to scream. The other person wouldn't be warned either..

They said two behavior specialist. I wonder if that would be the two guys in the video today. The one where the guy was crouching down in the woods and where they did a lap around the apartment complex.

yes, my twins aged 23 are like that. May appear anywhere from 11-1 on a Saturday or Sunday. Sometimes completely dressed and ready to go somewhere. Some days they drag out in PJs to grab coffee and food and go back in bed for another couple hours. Depends on the night before and/or if they have plans that day.
