THREAD: On Thursday, this is the white van the media was told
#LoriVallow arrived in. The public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office guided us over and moved the cones for the van to pull in. Afterwards, we asked “that was her, right?” And he said “yes.”

Meanwhile,
@morganloewcbs5
was following Lori Vallow’s transport vehicle as soon as she landed at the
#Rexburg airport. She was in a silver SUV. Law enforcement used a white van as a decoy so media couldn’t see her. We got her on video walking into the jail.

By the time I realized the white van was a decoy, it was too late: Lori Vallow was inside about to be booked. Every other inmate we saw was brought in through the sally port door on the side, so why the special treatment? Why did law enforcement lie to the media, and the public?

Media and people who live in
#Rexburg waited outside for 5 hours for her to be walked into the women’s detention center, only for her to be escorted in another vehicle and hidden. No other inmate got that treatment. Let me remind you, her two kids are still missing.

We understand measures need to be taken for Lori’s safety. What we’re upset about is the lying and the other special treatment she and her husband, Chad Daybell, have received. He got to use a closed off side entrance to enter the court, unlike any other family member.

Let's not forget that Chad Daybell came in and left the courthouse through an entrance closed off to everyone else. No other family members or attorneys received that kind of treatment. Something stinks and again I call shenanigans.

When was the last time you saw a county inmate appear at an IA/bond hearing wearing a fresh coat of makeup? I don't believe I've ever seen that in my near 30 years in this business. Trial yes, IA never. Maybe that's standard procedure in Madison County.
