Been a busy and somber day. We spent the morning/afternoon hanging ribbon. East Idaho News
They are all over town now. It feels good to do something but my heart aches for JJ and Tylees families. I hope they feel welcomed and comforted by all of us who care.

What a lovely gesture. Im sure JJ and Tylee’s friends and family will appreciate it. I appreciate you doing it. I know it must have been sad in a way. I hope you also hung a few for us here on WS who can’t be there! Those poor sweet children! Sending you hugs!

from the above thread we learned this. Thx to @DI_Isokawa
Cars:

Silver Ford F-150 Pickup, AZ license CPQUINT. I now believe that this was indeed the truck that Charles mentions in his divorce petition as having been taken from the airport by Lori, and was later commandeered rather than owned by Alex Cox. Charles bore more than a passing resemblance to the actor Robert Shaw, which would explain the plates. If this truck was instead really owned by Alex Cox then there is a second F-150 associated with the family that has not been mentioned anywhere I can find, and whose present location is unknown. The question can only be resolved by someone with access to AZ DMV records. The truck now appears to be in the possession of law enforcement.

Black Infiniti Qx70 SUV, license unknown. This appears to have been Lori's primary vehicle in Arizona. This is the vehicle that Lori said she was driving when interviewed by the Gilbert police on 31 January 2019. A lapel video just shows the rear of a black Infiniti SUV in the garage of the house where Charles was shot on 11 July 2019. Disposition of this vehicle is unknown. It is possible that the Infiniti was leased, and was turned in or repossessed.

Dark Green Jeep Wrangler, TX license LWD0997 (variously described as Dark Grey or Black). This vehicle has been described in various accounts as "Tylee's Jeep." If it was, it could not have been driven by her earlier than her 16th birthday on Sept. 24th, 2018. I have no explanation why the Jeep has Texas plates when Tylee was an Arizona resident at the time. This vehicle was identified as being involved in the shooting attempt on BB. It was later driven by someone to Rexburg and impounded by police there.

——-

I missed this post the first time around. I could see this resemblance of CV to Robert Shaw of Jaws, thus the CPQuint tag as well. Maybe a reporter will ask someday.

Still leaves the infinity. I’ll search around to see if I can find a judgement or anything to indicate a forfeited vehicle.

PSA: If I were a member of the Cox family, I'd be considering whether there might be a genetic clotting disorder in the family. Alex died of a clotting event and two other siblings died, one shortly after birth and one as an adult. Alex's event might be an isolated situation, but then again...the other siblings were probably not tested. Summer, Adam, Colby/other grandkids...this is for you.

Today, after reviewing new imagery, I have changed my opinion. Before I post anything further I wanted to check to see if this type of discussion is permitted or welcome here. Given that I work with crime scene and disaster forensics on a daily basis, I'm desensitized to the subject and find it fascinating both professionally and personally. Therefore, I figured it would be prudent to ask whether I should confine the discussion to a private conversation rather than posting here. I do appreciate this community and consider it a sort of extended family and I certainly do not wish to offend anyone. THANKS.
Snipped for focus.
PLEASE speak up! In fact, you can get professional verification through the moderators. That way, other posters know you have a professional angle and may sometimes come across desensitized.

All the players are crazy. But they are competent to stand trial. That’s all that counts.
Guilt is written all over their actions. So if you know right from wrong, you bury bodies instead of bragging we killed off more zombies.
Absolutely. This isn’t like some crazy guy walking down the street, holding his wife’s head. This is a couple of evil people, who killed two innocent children, and then did their best to cover it up.

They knew what they were doing, and knew what they were doing was wrong. Hence the lies, burial, and flight.

Both legally sane, and competent to stand trial. I have no fear there.

It was previously discussed in a few threads back but my understanding is BYUI does not allow anyone under age 18 to enroll - even online. (per other posters here & I imagine BYUI's enrollment policy).
Yes, it was discussed and there were very detailed steps one would have to take which I think we'd all agree weren't taken

Tylee could not have attended BYU-I. This has been discussed multiple times. For acceptance to BYU-I a student must be 17 years or older at the beginning of the first semester. Tylee was only 16 at the beginning of the 2019 fall semester.
You must have replied to the wrong post. My post was about the car Lori was driving in Idaho.

Are we sure on this? There seems to be many people (including ones who've "stated they've gone through this) that have stated all sorts of varying ages and requirements. Not saying you're incorrect but I've seen others stating other things that are not this.
Based on my research, yes. Here is my post on it in last thread. Look at the link included on page two.

1. Tylee could have been receiving ssi benefits for the death of her dad, JR.
2. JJ could have qualified for disability payments that Lori could be receiving
3. JJ could have qualified for SSI for the death of CV
4. Lori could have qualified for SSI for the death of CV according to the rule about if she was caring for a child on disability she could receive SSI immediately, not wait until 62.
https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10084.pdf
5. Stepchildren under certain conditions can get SSI too- (I don’t know those conditions) so it sounds possible Tylee could have qualified as well for SSI benefits from CV.

Now, because I think the SSI of CV would have ended to Lori when she remarried, I wonder if she really would have remarried?

REMEMBERING TYLEE RYAN: She had a unique sense of humor. She loved her Jeep. She enjoyed grabbing Chipotle with friends. Simply a teenage girl growing into a young woman in Arizona. She didn’t want to move to Idaho initially, her best friend tells me. But she went forward with the move because of her little brother JJ. She wanted to protect him. Tonight - we remember Tylee Ryan, gone at 17. Her best friend says the text message she got back in October was short and sweet. Now she realizes the person texting her back was most likely not Tylee.

Had LVD or CD been with AxC earlier in the day before LVD called ZP? Seems awfully timely that she was able to alert someone to witness his death (IMO).
What about ZP herself? She obviously had access to to him ... I don't trust anyone who was associated with the deadly duo. I ask again, what was the purpose of the marriage, as I don't think it was true love.

What a lovely gesture. Im sure JJ and Tylee’s friends and family will appreciate it. I appreciate you doing it. I know it must have been sad in a way. I hope you also hung a few for us here on WS who can’t be there! Those poor sweet children! Sending you hugs!
Yes I did hang some for our WS family! My family and extended family all came out to hang them too.

Can you quote your source on that? If true, that would be highly unusual. Most properly accredited 4-year colleges will allow enrollment at 17 with a high school diploma or GED, provided they meet all other relevant admission requirements.
At many, you could go whatever age you want, provided you can qualify. I've taught university students as young as 14. In graduate school, I had peers who were age 15-16.

However, BYU might have its own special thing. It always had different restrictions than everywhere else for faculty as well as students.

AC died from pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs). One of the causes is inactivity, so too much activity in the bedroom wouldn't have done him in. <snipped for focus>

This might be TMI, but I thought it might add to the community's understanding of how Alex apparently died.

I almost died from PE a little over five years ago, after weeks of feeling desperately out of breath from very mild exertion. I wrote it off to being "out of shape" due to my sedentary 12-hour workdays.

The morning I called 911, I thought I was having a heart attack. They treated me for that in the ambulance and in the ER until a pulmonary specialist who happened to be there (yay!) noted something in my blood work that tipped her off and ordered my treatment to be changed.

If this is how Alex died, people would have noted that he was easily worn out or "not well" for quite some time before he actually died. No poisons need to have been involved, which is not to say they couldn't have been an additional cause.

Contributing to his cardio-vascular condition, Alex might have had a genetic disorder, as I do, called "Factor V Leiden," which causes thrombophilia, a genetic predisposition to form blood clots. Lifetime use of a "blood thinner" like Eliquis is indicated. In my case, I also opted have an IVC filter inserted to catch and break up any blood clots before they get to the lungs or brain. Doesn't seem like Alex ever went through that level of diagnosis or treatment. Too bad.

Where is that coming from? Link?
Lori's sister, SS said it as she sat beside her mother, JC, in the CBS interview.
Take another listen ...

Knox, thank you for the link to the video. I went back and listened to the full 14 minute interview (not just the shorter excerpt you linked to here) and could not find it, so now I am not sure whether I heard SS say it in the CBS interview, MBP say it in one of her interviews, or MG say it in her interview with East Idaho News. I have a busy day today packing for a trip tomorrow, but will try to go through the interviews this evening to find it and will link it then.

ETA: (Boy, do I wish I had caught up on the thread before I posted!). I see Lionsanddandelions has already found and posted that information came from one of Zulema's attorneys in one of the Dateline episodes.

I think the OP was referring to the fact that LVs first team of lawyers were made up of 3. Two of the 3 abruptly quit, and we all wondered why.

I think OP was referring to now wondering if it’s because LV would not confirm the children were indeed safe. I could definitely understand quitting if my client would not reveal the safety of the children. MOO this is just a guess.

This post sent me down a rabbit hole regarding reasons an attorney can, or more specifically should, withdraw from a case.

RESULTS FROM the RABBIT HOLE:
  • an attorney may withdraw if the client fails to be truthful;
  • an attorney may withdraw if the client insists on taking action the lawyer considers repugnant with which the lawyer has a fundamental disagreement;
  • a lawyer may withdraw if the client fails to fulfill an obligation regarding the lawyer's services (ie pay a bill);
  • a lawyer must not knowingly present evidence or allow a client or witness to provide testimony the lawyer knows is false.
And then there are some situations that may require a lawyer to disclose to the prosecutor and/or court communications (conversations, documents or other evidence) their client OR risk disciplinary actions and/or criminal charges--against the attorney! Such as:
  • if the client is in the process of committing or intends to commit a crime or fraudulent act;
  • if the client communicated with the lawyer with the intent to further the crime or fraud, or to cover it up;
  • if the client communicates with the lawyer about destroying or concealing evidence and witness tampering;
  • if the client tells the attorney the location of a missing witness or victim whose life is in imminent danger;
  • if the client threatens to harm someone (ie a witness, another attorney or judge);
  • if the client gives the attorney a crucial piece of evidence.

What kind of convoluted story could LV and/or CD possibly come up to tell their attorneys that would actually help their attorneys build a reasonable defense of their charges without doing, behaving or providing information above? Or are they dumb enough to tell their attorneys what they actually did?

If you have a couple of extra hours to spare and the wear-with-all to entertain that question, here's a reminder of the charges against them.
