The search for missing 2-year-old Rory Pope is over. He was recovered from the pond behind N. Arena Ave. early this morning. Crews had spent all night pumping water out of the pond. He was found when the water level dropped.

Was this the pond behind the house? Just horrible news this morning

RIP - so so often water is an attractant that toddlers cannot escape from. That is why LE always goes to water. Drowning victims at that age are silent.

So so sad. My heart breaks.

I've lived here just over 5 years, in that time I think there has been 3 or 4 children who have died in the irrigation canals that run through SW ID. First I've heard of a drowning in one of the man made ponds in subdivisions. So tempting for little ones. :-(

Well, I think most of us assumed that poor baby likely went into the water, but man this is heartbreaking. So sad.


Was hoping for a different outcome. Praying for his dear family.
