does your link work? I think I recall the grandmother being quite upset about this.

Hmm. The link works for me. The grandmother keeps saying she's sorry and looking ashamed. I hope the young women get a chance to see this.

Hmmm ... the link comes up with a page saying "no results for your query" for me. Was it a video of grandma and others walking back to a car, possibly with a lawyer? That can be seen on the Fox 32 reporter's page here:

Were these two girls raised by their grandmother? In the video she says she did not raise them like that.

IMHO, the fact that there are some church-going culprits here actually makes them appear more deranged. How can you sell them off as good church-going kids who then turn around and do this? Anybody can "pretend" to be a person of God. Ross Harris certainly had everybody fooled.

Trump will clean up the inner city of Chicago very soon. And hopefully he gets the support from all the families that can't get a gallon of milk without the worries of being robbed or shot at or killed. Jmo

Those in the courtroom on Friday cheered when Cook County Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil denied the bail for all four, according to NBC Chicago.

"Where was your sense of decency?" Ciesil asked those accused in the case.

On Thursday, all four were charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Hill, Cooper and Brittany Covington also were charged with residential burglary, and Hill faces additional robbery and possession of a stolen motor vehicle charges, the report added.

Interesting. When I click on the link, I can see a list of facebook postings, with the top one being that video you're describing. I think the grandmother only raised one of the women. I don't know which one - she doesn't mention her by name.

^bbm sbm Maybe splitting hairs or maybe I misheard but thought G'ma said "...Sorry. Our girls were not raised like this" but did not say she raised them.

{{{ETA: re-watched & listened again. At :10-20 sec in vid, she said ^.
Later about :10sec from end she said "I didn't raise em like that." Sorry, I misheard.
I's hard to say if she was the only one raising them & in their lives.}}

Leaves open the question of who raised them. Bio-mom & dad? bio-mom only? multiple households? how long w each household? foster homes? CPS involvement? etc. She may or may not have been in their day to day lives long term. IDK.

Hahaha, now this is funny:

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told reporters during a press conference Thursday that there was never any question that hate crime charges would be brought against the suspects.

Wait a minute---didn't he say this last week:

Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson called #BLMKidnapping a prank, just kids being kids.... pic.twitter.com/Fd445iUMbd

He said the incident didn't appear to be politically motivated.

" I think part of it is just stupidity." Johnson said. People ranting about something they think might make a headline. At this point we don't have anything to point [toward a hate crime] but we'll keep investigating and let the facts guide us on how this concludes."

" If you looked at the video, it was just stupidity."

Can we please keep politics out of this though? I don't think there's anyone here who didn't vote for Trump who condones the actions of these kids. It wasn't politically motivated. They were opportunistic. They saw a disabled white kid who was prey.

I truly don't believe it is political since they did mention him when committing violence on this young man. Jmo.

Btw. I didn't vote for him. But still curious to how things will play out even though he can only do but so much from a federal perspective.

^ sbm Yes, katydid23, ^ quite a turn about.^
Maybe he should have said ~ "If you looked at me days ago on the video, it was just my stupidity, saying there's nothing pointing to a hate crime."
Next time, maybe he'll say - LE is still investigating, too early to comment on poss crim chgs.

But yeah, the gen pub can be awfully impatient and press ppl for answers, and some public officials can't seem to hold their tongues or resist vid cams. JM2cts, as usual.

{{ETA: sometimes I have trouble keeping my fingers from 'spouting off' on Websleuths forum. LOL.}}

Which of these stellar gentlemen took care of their disabled sibling?

Montel Williams expressed my sentiments perfectly with what he had to say about this nightmare and I thank him for speaking up.

Everytime I see the mug shots of these "stellar Gentlemen" I just can't believe the sneers on their faces. I wonder is they will have those same expressions when they walk through the prison door.

Lol. Imo. Some of those other prisoners probably had the same smug looking mugshots. Jmo

One big frat party to some if you ask me.

But i do feel sorry for the bad check writer or first time dui suspect that are forced to be housed with some of these comfortable looking jail suspects. Jmo.

Tesfaye Cooper -- he is in the bright green shirt.

They say the fourth suspect, 18-year-old Tesfaye Cooper, cares for his twin brother who uses a wheelchair and is a high school junior.

Imo.

After looking at these mugshots; I actually have to wonder what the defense lawyers were drinking when trying to show reasons why the judge was supposed to think these folks were actually above boards?

1) A church parishioner
2) An empoyed furniture mover
3) A mother of 2
4) A grieving home caretaker

Lol. Wth.

I also noticed one of her sisters has "free my sisters" pinned on her FB page.

Also I guess bond court at 130 would be 230 est
