[FONT=&amp]Tanishia Covington was arrested in 2007 on attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery charges. Police records do not show any convictions as a juvenile. As an adult, she was arrested on charges of battery and aggravated assault, but those charges were dropped.

As a mother of a child with special needs I can't even begin to tell you how much this story hurts my heart. There are NO WORDS for those animals, I couldn't watch the video reading here was enough [emoji17]

So if he was held for 4-6 hours tied up, how much of that time was live streamed? And in all that live-streaming, NOBODY called police? People were watching it and making comments to them on the live feed--and no one bothered to call police. Unbelievable.

I

This boy will be traumitized for life. Who in the world raised these animals?

And all the people who knew about it, and did nothing---just as bad IMO. They could've killed him and nobody had he human decency to step up and try and get him help!!!! I didn't know all the details until I came on here and heard about the toilet, and the choking with the leash...I am just horrified. I originally only saw a 30 or so minute video with Brittany basically in selfie mode, fixing her hair, and giggling--she did show a gash on his head, but that's about it. Oh and one dude flicked his cigarette in the boy's wound. I thought that was pure disgusting, but now, I am just so flabbergasted I don't have words.

And people out there making fb pages and pages in SUPPORT of these people. Gaw, somebody save humanity!!!!

Just a question for those whoa re parents to disabled children. Would you drop your child off at a mcdonalds alone for him to stay with (presumably at least 1 full night) someone who is being mentioned as only an acquaintance?

Come on - let's not blame the parents...

This was more than horrific...these four "****s" will pay. I refuse to watch the video, I've seen enough. I hope he is healing tonight. DO NOT BLAME HIS PARENTS! IMO

I wouldn't personally no, story's like this are the reason why I would never ever allow my child to go to a mainstream school. If my child doesn't get a spot in a specialist school I will be homeschooling. The world is a terrible place unfortunately and someone would be able to take advantage if someone else wasn't there. I don't blame the parents, maybe he begged to go... My child cannot speak so my concerns are different. Sending love to him and his family so sorry this happened

This is a terrible, horrific crime. I feel so sorry for the young man, what he had to endure. So grateful he was able to get out. I hope he can heal from this and move on. He has far more to give to the world than these monsters will ever have.

I'm horrified by what these people did. Has facebook made a statement at all?

Well, this was a hate crime...I said it once, and I'll say it again...how in the world did you "raise" these four ****S???
Those sisters - IMO - got more satisfaction from him being tortured. I guess I can't post certain things, we have to be politically correct. Did you see their mug shuts...nice.

Public defenders say 24-year-old suspect Tanishia Covington is the mother of two children, ages 11 months and 2 years old. They say her sister, 18-year-old Brittany Covington, attends college and is involved with her church.
The attorneys say 18-year-old Jordan Hill works for a staffing company assembling furniture and attends church with his grandmother. They say the fourth suspect, 18-year-old Tesfaye Cooper, cares for his twin brother who uses a wheelchair and is a high school junior.
2:45 p.m.
Prosecutors say one of four people charged with the Chicago beating of a mentally disabled man demanded $300 from the victim's mother.

[Jordan Hill:]
Hill was arrested as a juvenile in 2015 on charges including armed robbery, unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and residential burglary. It's unclear if he was convicted

Tanishia Covington is accused of kicking in the door of a neighbor who complained about noise during this week's attack. In 2007, she was arrested as a juvenile for felony attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery.

[records show:]
Covington's sister, 18-year-old Brittany Covington, and 18-year-old Tesfaye Cooper - had past arrests for non-violent offenses.

This is horrid. Hope these 's are locked away for life. There is no room in society for these disgusting monsters.

Interesting attempt at the public defenders trying to garner sympathy for the perps. I'm left thinking . . . you can't say you didn't know how the rest of society behaves, and you can't say you don't know right from wrong. If grandma has taken you to church, you've been exposed to love and expectations. And this is probably the best thing that happened to Tanisha's 2 kids - maybe they'll have a better role model than that. Maybe not, though.

Prosecutors offered new details of the assault, explaining that one of the suspects demanded $300 from the mother of the victim, who is schizophrenic and has attention-deficit disorder. They also said the beating started in a van when the same attacker became angry that the mother had contacted him asking that her son be allowed to come home.

....
....
The incident began New Year's Eve, when the victim and alleged assailant Jordan Hill met at a suburban McDonald's, and then called his parents later to say he was staying with Hill for a sleepover.
Instead, Hill drove the victim around in a stolen van for a couple of days, ending up at a home in Chicago, where two of the other suspects lived, police said.

The victim told police what began as playful fighting escalated. A downstairs neighbor who heard noises threatened to call police. When two of the suspects left and kicked down the neighbor's door, the victim escaped. A police officer later spotted the bloodied and disoriented young man wandering down a street.

The victim's parents reported him missing Monday evening, two days after last hearing from him. They later received text messages from people claiming to be holding their son captive, police said.

Wow. Very dangerous people who shouldn't be allowed a chance to victimize others. Even worse, they did this to a mentally disabled person who thought they were his friends. He'll need a lot of long term love and counseling to cope with this. I hope he gets the help he needs.

Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson called #BLMKidnapping a prank, just kids being kids.... pic.twitter.com/Fd445iUMbd

He said the incident didn't appear to be politically motivated.

" I think part of it is just stupidity." Johnson said. People ranting about something they think might make a headline. At this point we don't have anything to point [toward a hate crime] but we'll keep investigating and let the facts guide us on how this concludes."

" If you looked at the video, it was just stupidity."

I KNEW they were not going to prosecute this as a hate crime. I bet they don't even get much jail time-if any.

It is like the Chief is saying this act is okay....no big thing....maybe time for him to go as crime has gone up since he has been in charge. Really sad as I grew up in Chicago and suburbs back in 50-70's. It has changed for the worse.

Yeah, and one would think if you helped care for your brother, who is in a wheelchair, that you'd have some sympathy for others w/a disability. Apparently not. It looks as if their families may have tried though, I can feel sympathy for them, but not these four.
