They always think they'll get away with it.
Somewhere in the FB group it was posted he is or was on meds for anger issues.
No kidding!

I found the following a little ironic.......

Nearly a dozen police officers closed in on Gilford Aug. 5 while he was eating a piece of marble cake ...

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=400279

No smiley for dropping a block of 'marble' over EG's head.
Maybe we should send him some marble cake when he is in the DuPage County pokey.

I have a few upcoming family court dates to set visitation.
I wonder if I will run into EG there.......

Will have to check the dates he will be there.
They don't allow camera's in there though.........

If I see him rest assured I've give him the finger across the neck hand cut your head off sign like you're toast!

sing it with me.... hang man is coming down from the galley and it won't be very long......

Prosecutor: Dying wife IDs Navy recruiter husband as attacker
Villa Park fugitive returns to Illinois; denied bail

"Kristine Gilford did tell police on more than one occasion that it was the defendant who stabbed her," he said. "(Gracie) told the police it was the defendant, whom she identified as 'the bad guy' who hurt her mother and she identified a photo of him."
Gracie also told police Eric Gilford had a knife and a hammer, both of which were located inside the apartment, Berlin said.

Police also found the ex-boyfriend's address written on a business card, along with a bloody towel, in Gilford's abandoned 2008 Dodge Charger in Fargo, N.D., the prosecutor said.

How sad this child had to witness Gilford go after her mother with a knife and hammer. God Bless the Courtney family and give them strength as they go through the next phase of justice.

Vengeance is mine, sayeth the man.
When will we teach our kids to be peaceful and accept life on life's terms?
Blessings to the family and the little child.

Downers Grove, IL —
Eric Gilford is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 16 for an arraignment after being denied bond Aug. 18, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.

<snip>

Gilford will appear in court Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. in front of Judge Kathryn Creswell.

<snip>

In Seattle shelters, Gilford could find not only food and a bed but also Internet access and $400 in state-funded food stamps that could be bartered for cash. He applied for the services and found paying work by using another person’s Social Security number and date of birth — information he had access to working as a U.S. Navy recruiter in Chicago, the police source said.

Downers Grove resident Eric Gilford, who’s accused of murdering his wife, Kristine, and her unborn child, will continue to be evaluated by a psychologist as requested by his attorney and will return to court in December.

Gilford appeared at Wheaton Courthouse Tuesday, where assistant state’s attorney Dave Bayer said Gilford's attorney Ricky Holman requested 2,200 pages of police records, DVDs, CDs and photographs that were presented in court by the state to aid in psychological evaluation. January 10, 2011|By Art Barnum, Tribune Reporter

DuPage County prosecutors announced Monday that they will not seek the death penalty for a Downers Grove man accused of murdering his estranged pregnant wife in May.

But Eric A. Gilford could face a sentence of life imprisonment if convicted, Assistant State's Attorney David Bayer said.

Bayer told Judge Kathryn Creswell that State's Attorney Robert Berlin made the decision after consulting with the victim's family.

I hope that by "other offers," they mean he pleads guilty to first degree murder. I hope they don't mean they might offer him a plea deal. Why should they?

It looks like justice is finally coming for Kristine, her unborn baby, Gracie and Kristines family.

Guilty plea expected in pregnant Villa Park woman’s killing

A former Navy recruiter accused of stabbing his pregnant wife to death in front of her daughter on the child’s fourth birthday plans to plead guilty, his attorney disclosed in court Tuesday.

Assistant Public Defender Ricky Holman said 36-year-old Eric Gilford of Downers Grove will consult with his family before pleading guilty in coming months. He told DuPage County Judge Kathryn Creswell that Gilford plans to enter a “blind plea,” meaning there is no sentencing agreement with prosecutors.

At least he is manning up and plans to admit guilt for murdering his wife and their unborn child in front of his step daughter. Hopefully he follows through with his guilty plea and the judge sentences him to the fullest extent of the law. I pray the judge does not show leniency or favor due to Eric's having served our country. What he chose to do in front of an innocent child on her 5th birthday is one of the most heinious crimes I have ever read about here at WS.

Murdering two innocent persons, he deserves life.

Article is a few days old.

"This morning, Eric Gilford took responsibility for the murder of his wife and her unborn child,” DuPage County State’s Attorner Robert E. Berlin said Friday. “His actions not only took the life of his wife and an unborn child who never got the chance to live, they also took a mother away from a 4-year-old child who will now have to live her life without the love and protection that a mother provides.”

In exchange for his guilty plea, the state has agreed to cap its sentence recommendation for both crimes at 140 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Let's hope he gets the full 140 years.

Gilford sentencing delayed again

Snippets:

Sentencing of Eric Gilford has been postponed until the end of September as further psychological review was requested by Gilford’s attorney Tuesday.

The sentencing hearing has been moved to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 29.

“The terms are extended based upon brutal and heinous behavior,” Creswell said in court June 10. “(Gilford) is eligible for 60 to 100 years in prison or natural life.”

Gilford entered a plea agreement that seeks no more than 80 years in prison for the first-degree murder charge and no more than 60 years for the intentional homicide of an unborn child.

Sentencing scheduled for 9:30 am this morning. Unfortunately Kristines mother will not be able to attend. According to the Rest in Peace Kristine Courtney-Gilford FB page, Kristines moms husband has stage 4 lung and liver cancer and is receiving hospice care.

Many of Kristines friends will be in attendance.

Please keep this family and friends of Kristine, as well as Erics family in your prayers. I'm sure this is difficult for Erics family as well.

And a special prayer for Kristines mom as she faces not only the difficult road of losing her daughter, but this journey she faces with her husbands illness.

"He said he didn't respond to the voices, he knew they were hallucinations and was able to cope with them," Murray said of Gilford.

Murray, however, told the court he believes Gilford was exaggerating his symptoms.

"He understood what he was doing," Murray said in court. "It was premeditated. His level of anger was the primary reason he attacked his wife."

That anger was born out of being unsure if Kristine's unborn baby was his, Murray said.

Murray added that Gilford did have the option of pleading mentally ill, but chose not to.

And instead of paying child support for that child he thought was NOT his, on IL min wage of 8.25 - he chose to kill his wife and unborn child in front of his step daughters on her 5th birthday.

Dude could have really paid less than 50 dollars a week in child support based on min wage. I know, my baby daddy is former military and his state court order is to pay 48.64 per week.
And the googly/batty eyes, are in DuPage.

INSTEAD Eric chose to to brutally murder his wife and his unborn child of 20 weeks - in front of a little girl.

Eric, was it worth it? Really for 48 dollars a week? You murdered to avoid paying less than cost of a tank of gas! Really. and for less than 50 dollars a week you changed a lot a peoples lives.

I hope was worth it.
