Could he have been taking some kind of recruiting class? I know the military people I have known were always going for different training things.
 
Those tats are freaky. It won't be easy to hide those even if he changes his appearance on the run.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but I would like to know if those tats are easily covered by short sleaves or not.

I am hoping to see this EG on AMW soon.
 
I hope LE is not limiting their search to the Fargo area. It is only 150 or so miles from Fargo to the Canadian border.

It was also an easy drive from the Chicago area to Fargo. Basically 1 road, 94. 29 goes straight north out of Fargo from 94 into Canada.

He likely changed his appearance before he left.... Probably shaved his head.

I hope Winnipeg police is on the lookout for this guy. Winnipeg is the closest large city in Canada from Fargo.
 
In addition to bus routes. (haven't looked for trains) Fargo has an international airport.

Being a recruiter for the Navy, is it possible EG had easy access to stealing someone's identity? I hate the thought but I wonder how much access he had to personal information. Could he have taken someone's info to get documentation for an ID and flown from Fargo?

It is possible that he stole someones ID. He would have access to driver's license, social security cards, and birth certificates. So it is possible.

However, the LE and military have probably been looking into that. At least I hope so.

He was already a recruiter. The Navy's recruiting command/school is in Pensacola, FL.

A recruiter would have access to detailed information about the recruits being process through his office. Birth Certificate, School Records, Detailed Family Information, All Previous Addresses, Many Friends and Reference Names and addresses, SS number, DL number, Credit Report . . . I'm not sure what all else, but enough for the recruit to get at least a low level security clearance.

Can you imagine how this crime must have impacted the recruits processing through that office at this time? I wonder if any have decided not to go into the Navy because of this.

Ugh! What a scary thought! I wonder when the last time EG was at the recruitment office.

To think all those people might need to be on alert for identity theft. Depending of course on how long he planned this......
 
Didn't see this link posted, but he's been charged and an arrest warrant has been issued with with a 3 million dollar bond.

Eric A. Gilford, 31, who may be heading for Canada, is wanted on charges alleging first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child.
Police have been hunting Gilford since his wife, Kristine, 35, was found clinging to life about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday after suffering multiple stab wounds.

I find an Eric A. Gilford associated with Gulfport, Mississippi. That would make sense as one of our Gilford's assignments, since he's a steelworker and there's a SeaBee base there. SeaBees are the construction element of the Navy and include steelworkers.
 
I found an Eric A Gilford associated with Mesa,AZ and Hanover Park, IL. The age is off by a decade but that could be a typo. Espcially since one of the media articles or the Eric Gilford Wanted FB page mentions EG grew up in Hanover Park, IL.

I hope LE has checked or is checking flight records out of the international airport near Fargo, not just for EG's name but the names against possible recruits for which EG could have had access to their personal information.

One thing I have not seen mentioned is if dogs were used in the search in Fargo. Clearly dogs could have given a scent where he went when he left the car.

Canada won't extradite if the DP is on the table. Does anyone know if they will extradite for military reasons, or because he's in the military?

I don't know enough about the military to know if there is a difference.

Mesa, AZ would be a weird place for a sailor to have lived -- unless he was at the recruiting office there. Could be a cousin or something if his extended family all came from the Hanover Park area.
There's a Terry Gilford who in 2007 was implicated in shooting a policeman in Maywood , which is 10 miles away from Downers Grove, exactly due east. Wonder if that's a relative.
 
I imagine Gilford is a semi common name. Maywood is a terrible area. Worse than some parts of the west side of Chicago. I doubt if any of EG's family or friends would be in the Maywood area.
 
A little more info on area's Eric Guilford has ties to.

Gilford was formerly from the Frederick area, and worked at Camp David.

Thanks for the links. One of them said they found a GPS unit in the dumpster. Why did he rip that out of the car and throw it away? I read earlier that he also ripped the radio out of the car. Does he still have it? What the heck is this guy doing and why hasn't he been found??? I never expected he'd be on the lam so long. Actually, I didn't expect that he would ever consider anything but suicide.
 
I'm surprised he's not been caught yet too.

Clearly he didn't get to fargo on a single tank of gas.
Either he withdrew a large sum of cash before he left
or he's using debit or credit cards.

I'm hoping LE is on his trail and aren't releasing any info
or releasing info indicating they don't know where he is
so he thinks LE isn't hot on his trail.

I just hope he is captured soon. If he could murder his wife in front of his step child
there is no telling what this guy is capable of doing.
