Early reports also indicated that Kristine Gilford had been staying with a boyfriend at the Villa Park residence, and that her 4-year-old daughter Gracie Mae, who witnessed the attack, ran out of the home covered in blood. Det. Dan McCann from the Villa Park Police Department said Kristine Gilford had been staying at a friend’s.

“At this point, I wouldn’t say a boyfriend,” McCann said. “I will confirm that the daughter was present, but we are not going to comment right now on whether she was covered in blood. We were able to speak with her (victim) prior to her death, but will not reveal what was said.”

He said earlier reports were not released by him or the Villa Park Police Department, but rather were speculation from neighbors or other sources.

There hasn't been much news out there until today. A little yesterday. I think it was time for LE to make some kind of statement to end some of the rumor and speculation going on surrounding this case.

I'm going to ask again, if you have a facebook page and are not already a member of Eric Gilford Wanted FB page- please add yourself and pass this to those you know. This page is intended to be a BOLO and pass the info around to ensure everyone is familiar with his face and that he is wanted.

It was literally like a 5-10 second blurb about him. Better then nothing since it at least gets his face out there but I was hoping for a little more.

I agree about AMW, but at least it was aired! Hopefully HLN will pick up the story this coming week. Especially NG and JVM, even if it is just another 30 seconds or so of air time. Something is better than nothing!

Nothing new to add, except I live next door to where this happened. I've been a fan of crowd-sourced sleuthing for years as a member of the unforums and the Alternate Realtity Gaming scene, so what you guys and gals do, I applaud. If there's any local info that could help you in tracking this guy, let me know.

I didn't know him, the victim, or the ex-boyfriend (the apartment where the crime occurred), so I can't help much there, but I, too am saddened by the lack of info since the first couple days. Not to mention, it's not feeling too safe to be around this area, since the ND stuff could be simply a red herring, with the lack of a trail since the car was found (at least publicly).

I've got a pal in the DuPage county sherriff's office, so if I can get any other info, I'll let you know.

Hi Welcome to Websleuths Dorkmaster. I'm local to this case too. Thanks for your offer for help and interest in the case. I too am disappointed with the lack of info, especially a better description on the perps tattoo's and his habits and interests. Does he like to fish, camp, golf type things.....

Personally, I don't think anyone should feel any less safe as a direct result of this murder and Eric being on the run. At least not other than normal being aware of ones surroundings- in the immediate area and the reasons are: 1)Eric would have to be crazy to step foot back in Illinois let alone DuPage or Villa Park. 2)Of the few murders which occur in DuPage almost all are Domestic Violence related versus targeted at strangers. The recent one which was not DV related which comes to mind, was the murder in Glendale Heights a few years back when that gang banger Beltrain (forget his first name, started with an I, maybe Isais? ) shot the man walking his dog at 3:30 am or so. That is the only random murder I recall and Beltrain is behind bars ( though his sentence was puny imo).

DuPage County is notorious for sharing very little information with the public. I don't know why, perhaps habit? but imo there is more info which could be released which would not compromise the investigation. I'm hoping they do so this case doesn't get cold quickly. Kristines daughter deserves to know the man who did this to her mother is caught and behind bars.

The U.S. Customs Border Protection agency is working to find fugitive Eric Gilford by notifying all ports of entry to the country.
Press Officer Cherise Miles said the CBP Chicago office is working with local law enforcement and have notified all ports of entry to look out for the Downers Grove man.

That link also says that NG's website said he was seen at SeaTac airport in Seattle. (Not that NG is a hugely reliable source of information)

But Seattle has a huge Navy presence, and he could have friends there.

Frank Snover, Kristine Gilford&#8217;s cousin, said the family continues to hope as it mourns her death. Snover was the originator of the &#8220;Eric Gilford WANTED&#8221; Facebook page, which more has more than 3,500 followers.

Snover said he got the idea from the movie &#8220;The Unforgiven&#8221; he was watching one day before he received a phone call about his cousin.

Employees of Sea-Tac Airport reported Eric Gilford may have come through May 27, according to the Nancy Grace website. However, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported no encounters with Eric Gilford in Seattle, Miles said.

There wasn't enough driving hours for EG to get from Fargo to Seattle to fly out on the 27th and there are no direct flights listed out of Hector International airport in Fargo to Seattle. It is possible he flew through a few cities before making it to Seattle on the 27th- If he made it to Seattle.

This guy is dangerous and needs to be captured. Please continue to pass his FB info along!

“Right now, we don’t have any current leads as to where he is,” Villa Park Lt. Mike Lay said.
Fargo police said its department received and followed up on between 6 to 12 tips or leads.
According to Lay, investigators have returned from North Dakota and were able to collect some items for evidence.
But Fargo Police Lt. Pat Claus said the case in North Dakota is now classified as "inactive."
“We’ve done everything we are going to do proactively,” Claus said. “We don’t believe he’s in the City of Fargo.”

I actually hope he is because if not he is going to be dangerous. Your right about him being not hard to spot. He's tall, lanky with big ears... There is not much you could do to conceal yourself if your him...

I wish they would catch him for that poor little girl that will forever remember seeing her mother murdered on her birthday.:sick:

"inactive" doesn't mean closed. It just means Fargo has run out of tips to follow up on and they have apparently ruled out the tips they received.

There is NO WAY we are going to forget Eric until this is walking in the red prison suit hand cuffed and chained.
