A: immediately started requesting financial and background info called "victimology"... delay in obtaining because info wasn't readily available. Info had to be extracted through quantico - texts were deleted so it took a while. Some banks take up to 90 days to send financial info.

The ME definitively explained that the first GSW hit his cell phone and then vest, did not penetrate skin but left a bruise- broke cappilaries under skin, explaining that they knew this happened prior to fatal GSW because bruising like that would only happen with a person who was alive. The second GSW caused the break in pulmonary artery, massive quick blood loss (3 pints) filled his lungs. Bullet from that GSW did not create the typical cookie cutter exit wound , hit back of vest.

Not the news I expected or wanted to hear. But if true, so sad. The only thing that ever bothered me and I never brought it up so as not to be hurtful: When the Lt's wife made her first public statement, she ended it with something like "And he always came home to ME". I found that odd and not something I would likely say or point out in the event of the death of my DH. Perhaps I am just odd myself, but the inflection and bitterness I perceived was noteworthy. It was not about him being a family man or wonderful husband. It was almost pointed, as if a veiled message to another woman... Weird

I had the EXACT same thought when she said that.
