That is just flat out a bizarre thing to say. IMHO.

He needs to be held accountable for not monitoring the cases he is responsible for. Anyone who hires him adopts his attitude and issues.

Right?? In what context was that info offered and more importantly to me, did those offers come in before or after Semaj's death and this case?? sheesh, maybe he should consider taking one of them. Sure won't be any skin off my teeth nor those of anyone I know - the dept here in IL has long needed an overhaul - here's my big fat :cow:

He was blunt in saying he has not ruled anything out.
“I do think they’re options I need to consider,” he added, also noting his DCFS post “is the toughest job I’ve ever had.”

Here is a direct link to the article. It doesn't say when the gravy train was rolling in. But, I think it is interesting the jobs he has held and that he ran for public office.

Must be Louisiana. Los Angeles would not offer him a job. They're in big enough trouble already with DCFS and a current trial.

Yep, the effects of Gabriel Fernandez's horrific death are still being felt in Los Angeles. RIP little man.

I know what services they offered her. my husband's custody case started when mom decided to scapegoat and abuse one of their three mutual kids (she has two other kids from two other men who arent around) she came to school twice and made scenes and the school reported her to CPS. they did a 30 day investigation where both of our homes were visited. in the end, this CPS case was not "unfounded", but rather "inconclusive with concerns" and they recommended family court and also recommended an in home family therapy type program that was weekly for 6 months and report to CPS. she went ahead and did the program, albeit rescheduling or cancelling frequently.

these are probably "supportive services" that were recommended here and possibly would have been a better intervention, as they would have noticed all the squatters and the condition of the home. but im sure she did not trust them.

He came here from Florida, that should say something.

I have a question..were these "squatters" people the mom knew, or actually complete strangers that just that just flopped it there? The news articles confused me..can't even believe this case..just can't...

Isn't there some kind of background check or something to prevent this man from ever getting a job in this type of field anywhere???He would be endangering lives somewhere else!! Ugh!!

I believe that mom knew at least a couple of them. The way their entry into the home as residents has been described during phone interview with an unidentified friend of Ms. Gordon that was livestreamed by Anita Padila (local reporter) from her newsroom: They showed up one or two at a time.

Conjecture - Mom has a couple of unsavory types who she knows or becomes acquainted with. She allows a couple to stay there "just for a week or so" while they look for a place. Next thing you know its been months and they haven't left and now they have invited several others to come live there too.
