I started reading about Willow last night and went to sleep having read that she had gone out for walks before. I was hopeful she got lost and would be found today. I see she has been found murdered. I know the uncle has been charged with her murder. How and where was she found? Did searchers find her body? Was she in a house? Sorry for all the questions but I'm on thread two and haven't read all the way backwards yet. RIP beautiful Willow xo

Matou, she was found by four searchers about 7:30 Monday night. We don't know exactly where but south of the town.

She was found south of a small rest area that is on Illinois Route 37 (according to this news release, I'm not claiming it as fact) Scene is pictured.

[Edit] I'm going to sleep. I am still hopeful that the best case scenario is true in Willow's case...it would be so much better than any alternative. At least if I'm sleeping I don't feel the emotions.

I practiced Pediatrics in Effingham, Il for 12 years. The entire area was pristine--highly German Catholic and is a great place to raise kids. We moved to Iowa because my husband family was here and my parents lived just East of Burlington, Ia on the Illinois side. Serious crime really didn't occur when I lived there. In fact where live in Iowa is rougher than Effinham...According to the statutes of Illinois you can charge 1st degree murder when it is committed along with another felony. Here it would be in association with kidnapping and I also question a sexual assault--attemped or completed. I will call my old buds in Effingham tonight to see what the word on the street is.
My condolences to Willow's family and may Willow soar with our other angels.:anguish::anguish:

As far as drugs and alcohol, they reduce inhibitions.

People have gone places and done things in alcoholic blackout that they have no idea that they have done. They have woken up in cities faraway without knowing how they got there.

Certain kinds of meth decrease sexual boundaries. People are not in in their right minds. I think that is why AA says that there are only two outcomes with alcoholism--- insanity or death.

No one knows at this point of anything to do with drugs or alcohol. I seriously doubt that a drunk driver, being sober, would choose to wipe out a family while driving. Drugs and alcohol do affect behavior, decent person or not

Nothing about him gave any clue IMO. To me it's either he was abusing her and she threatened to tell, or he acted on a desire to know what it's like to kill. Either way, his hair, music, games etc had nothing to do with it, IMO.

That's exactly what I believe happened.....Imoo this sounds like so many other murdered children's cases. I believe it's likely the uncle was abusing Willow.
I hope Im wrong.

I'm convinced that this guy is a sociopath. And I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he has killed before. When I look at him, I see Jeffrey Dahmer staring back at me. I don't know if it's his facial features, hair, eyes or what. But that's what I see.

I think it was sexually motivated. It might have been the first time even, but I do think he molested her and either killed her so she wouldn't tell or (Lord help us) it was a sadistic act of sexual aggression that in and of itself killed her.

I think the fact that it wasn't told from the start that he was in the home at the time he disappeared combined with finding the purple shirt/nightshirt in the home after she was reported missing.

He is 22 years old. I would think that it is possible that he is still sexually immature also.

I also think it's very possible (and likely) that he had been molesting her for a while.

Nothing about his appearance makes me think that, it is just a feeling I get and have had throughout this whole ordeal. Even before we knew there was a male present in the home, I had questioned if mom possibly had brought a "date" home from an outing the night before that was present.

KSDK out of St. Louis is reporting that the grandfather said (off-camera) that the uncle has admitted it. He (grandfather) says it was an accident and uncle didn't know what to do. They're going to tell more on that at 6.

They showed a crying neighbor kid who said Willow was her best friend.

Edit: In case I wasn't clear, grandfather was not on camera at all. There were 2 reporters who said they had just spoken to him.

I read posts by him on Ciara's FB. He had pictures of him with a child. He talked about how he was going to be moving again. I wonder where he was when he moved back home.

He had a GED.

I can't remember. Was he in a relationship?

I read on his FB that ... Yes... He is in a relationship...

but... Of course , who knows how long ago, how true it is, etc...

Every case there is great hope that a child died accidentally, I have yet to see a case where that is the case instead of a brutal murder. When accidents happen you call 911 not cover up an accident to make it look like murder.

I really understand why so many people hope for an accident, it is so hard to comprehend a child being murdered by their own uncle. So many of us put ourselves in the place of the families and can't fathom our own brother hurting our children, so we reach out to defend the perp. It's natural to do so, but the reality is Willow was murdered by her uncle.

Such a sad but expected outcome. :(

Thanks. Do you have a link to the article. I can't seem to find it. One of those days...LOL.

No, I watched it on TV. It doesn't seem to be up on their site yet. Maybe check in the 20 or 30 minutes and they'll put it up after the local news is over?

Just got home and read the horrible news about Willow. I was hoping so much that she'd just gotten herself lost in a corn field and would be coming home a little hungry and shaken but no worse for the wear.

R.I.P. Willow :rose:

I haven't been here longer than a couple days, so I'm not as used to this as you all are. I want this to be an accident and it hasn't been proven otherwise as yet. Why not call an ambulance or notify LE if it was an accident? Maybe he freaked out and just wanted it (and her) to disappear instead of dealing with it. I don't know. I want it to be an accident.

I *want* to have never heard of her, seen her sweet face.

Don't take that the wrong way- we only know of her due to her death.

Yeah, call me jaded... from the moment I clicked on her name and realized it had been several hours since she had been missing, I knew it was not a good situation. I don't know, nor do I have any more gut instincts...

I just know I crave justice. Swift justice. There will be no peace, no closure for the family. It's times like this I am thankful I have faith that she's playing on God's playground.

I think, once again LE knew far more than was revealed to the public.

The info about the little brother crying and crying is new to me.

If he has First Degree, that means that he planned it, right?

I wonder if he was doing things with her that he should not?

I can't help wondering about your last question, too...

If it was an act of rage because of too much noise from a child...

I would think a 3 year old toddler would have less restraint than a 7 year old...

and uncle "chose" a seven year old female...

I am still so on the fence with this one. I get no bad vibe from this guy. None. Obviously he did something unspeakable but it's just weird that I'm NOT getting a Sigg or Holder "feeling".... I hope we learn more in the days/weeks/months/years ahead.

Don't throw rocks at me :scared:

I have seen time and time again where they hold on a lesser charge, and then eventually the charges lead up to much more serious charges. My question to you all is this....Have you ever seen it to where LE hits a suspect with the most serious charge...like Murder one for example in an attempt to get them to confess the truth of what happened? If this does turn out to be an accident ...is it possible they hinted/announced that he would be charged with Murder in the first tomorrow at 1 P.M. to get him to come clean with what occurred? Is this even a possibility? I am just curious if anyone has ever heard or seen anything like that before? I cannot recall ever seeing it, but just perplexing now after Poor Grandpa's statement. IMHO

Here is KSDK: http://www.ksdk.com/. They have a link to watch the news live (so be there at 6 for sure!) but I can't seem to go back to the beginning of the newscast. If anyone can figure it out, I think it was the first story.

He's obviously a big gamer...

I am behind in reading... So I apologize if this has been discussed...

But... Is there a specific meaning to the phrase "emotional scars"...

other than the generic term?

And... Does it relate some way to gaming?

TIA...:seeya:
