Am I mistaken, then? Maybe I -am-. Maybe it was the other uncle and my memory is playing tricks on me. At the time, I didn't pay a whole lot of attention. I remember it was the uncle, and I THOUGHT it was "Justin," but the other uncle has a similar name.

If I -am- mistaken, please don't hesitate to say so, and I'll remove my original post. I can't exactly double-check since the page is gone, unfortunately. If I'm mistaken, then I don't need to worry about it at all. (Yes, I've been worrying about how to react, thinking it was the "correct" uncle).

MsT I just didn't know if you were aware they have the same initials. I have no idea if you're mistaken or not.:seeya:

Sorry going off topic but any time a kiddo goes missing and s/he is small for their age it seems as if blame is thrown at the parents for lack of feeding them healthy. My daughter will be 8 in Nov. She is 3'9 and 42 lbs . She has always been smaller. She was still wearing some of her 3-6 months clothes when she was a yr old. People would be rude enough to stop me and tell me I was doing something wrong causing her to be so tiny. Never mind the fact that most of these people also thought I was a teen mom even though I was 25 b/c of my size. I see nothing wrong with Willow's size. I have kids going both ways. My son is a monster compared to some of the kids in his Kindergarten class. Most kids come to his shoulders. I give him a yr or 2 and he will be eye level to me if he keeps growing at this rate.

Willow seems like she was a girl who fluttered or danced all over the place instead of walk. I bet she was a girl on the move most of the time with a high metabolism that kept her on the smaller size too.

I hear you. My DD is chunky and is, at 11, 5'6".

If one more person gives me "helpful" advice on giving her healthy choices and asking if I give her foods pumped with hormones (um, I am 5'11" and her dad is 6'2") because of her obviously freakish size, I'm gonna sit on them . With my big ole Amazon booty. So there.

And BTW, the kid lives on veggies and plays sports. But people always gotta judge.

Well i figure i get one shot, and this wood chopping axe can cleave his head open allowing me to get away. Never heard an axe called a slingblade or kaiser blade

It's just a line from my favorite movie, "Slingblade"......:seeya:

Sorry to be making light right now, but that's what your post reminded me of! :blushing:

Rest in Peace Willow x

Just some thoughts.

Was Willow found in water or on the bank of the river. If its in water then the liklihood of sperm being found on her from sexual assault is nearly nil. Unless the uncle has tied the plastic bags tight enough to keep water out.

Cuts on her arms? Defensive wounds possibly?

Any proof the mother went home on the Saturday night? Maybe she hooked up with someone and she doesn't want the world to think she goes on a one night stand, so says she went home, saw the kids at 8.45am, lay down, woke up and Willow was missing. In reality it could be that she gets home around 10.45am, realises Willow isn't there and then the search begins.

This could mean that Willow has been missing and disposed of since the Saturday night.

My (first, knee jerk) theory.

Uncle tries to molest Willow. He does/does not succeed, either way she runs out of the house screaming she's going to tell. He chases her, with a knife. Catches her, cuts her throat and stabs her. She may well have ran into a stick and impaled herself on it, but no where in any first aid course that I've done did it say "in cases of impaling, cut throat, stab repeatedly, tie up in plastic bags and dump in river!"

I hope they are sifting through that cat box as well. I still don't get why he would bring that up in his statements unless he had a specific "part" in his possible defense scenarios that would include cat litter. If the catbox was in the bathroom, I don't think that would lead to anything, because according to his story the pile of debris she fell on also contained cat litter...so either way she'd have cat litter on her, yeh?

I don't know why, but this whole kitty litter statement is really ...bugging me. Why'd he bring that up?

[Edit] I edited the wrong post. I guess I am wondering if he used that as a blood absorbent and therefore needed a story as to why the litter was in the pile of debris or near it, and why it may be found on Willow? We use it all the time for oil in the driveway...it's a good absorbent.

In my opinion only I think that it is possible where ever the cat box is located in the home is where these events occurred to Willow?

Yes your right it is a good absorbent as well, so that could be an option for clean up and it would also disintegrate at some point if placed in water.

$5 million bond set for Justin DeRyke

http://effinghamdailynews.com/local/x789526962/-5-million-bond-set-for-Justin-DeRyke

In interviews with Illinois State Police investigators Monday, Justin DeRyke said he had been in his bedroom playing video games for much of the night before leaving his room to go into the bathroom to masturbate and watch pornographic films. Upon leaving the bathroom, Long grabbed his arm to bring him downstairs to watch television and scratched DeRyke's arm, drawing blood.

So could he have said this because there might be sperm on Willow and he is trying to say he did this b4 and that is how it got on her when she grabbed his arm?

I won't be popular with this, but...On the probable cause statement sections d and e, it states:

d)"...After leaving the bathroom the defendant started to walk back to his room. However, as the defendant was walking back to his room, Willow Long, came up behind the defendant tugged on the Defendant's right forearm in an attempt to get him to watch TV with her.

e) Goes on to say... blood was drawn and this angered him.

I am NOT defending JD and how things escalated, but I have to say, that if someone came up behind me and grabbed me at night after being in a daze in the bathroom, it would scare me. I startle easily and even during broad daylight, if you come up behind me I first jump then get a sense of rage and am prepared to fight. I have had my children come up behind me at night, when I thought they were asleep, and let me tell you after turning around and being prepared to duke it out and cussing, I was seriously angry and shocked. Of course, I could put it in perspective after a moment, but, that feeling is awful-fiight or flight and adrenaline. Now, JD, being a young male could easily act on that adrenaline, fight or flight anger and rage, especially if he thought it was someone else (besides Willow) and felt he had been caught, doing what guys do sometimes. She was supposed to be in bed, etc. I can't articulate the feeling when I am startled like that, but, I can definitely see him being a young male wanting to lash out...no young guy likes to get caught being "scared" or injured even by accident. So he yells at her and chases her, can't control his feelings, then the accident and a series of really awful choices. IDK, I just think there is some truth to all of it as well.

am i the only one sleeping with a .45?! (or two... lol)

A 9mm in each night stand and three dogs that would protect me with their life....

The shotguns live by the front and back doors.

We live in the woods.

Am I the only one who doesn't sleep with a weapon handy? I've honestly never even thought about it.

I'm a single mom in the middle of nowhere. I'm packin' lol

Nope. The only weapon I got is a 29 lb 12 yo mutt who might bark...but not she would be a weapon..lol

Ah crap, I didn't mean to make us all get off track when I said that. (Sorry!!)

Bottom line: most us are probably paranoid & sleep with weapons near

Back to little Willow :)
