(I already commented on neuropathic gait). About colostomy, I thought, a urinary catheter, but I see no reason why he should have it. At this moment I think it is some sort of an orthotic, there are so many produced. (But you are right, it does look like colostomy only I never saw an ostomy bag hanging at the knee level).

Steroids are a brilliant idea. Not ‘rhoid rage (as it would be testosterone), though. But - corticosteroids cause mania. @apples12 said, depression with psychosis, it is not so far away from mania. Anyhow, the guy was probably pretty off.

Clubbing...you know, the sketch of YBG shows unusually long chin. It sometimes can indicate acromegaly - when growth hormone is released in inappropriately high levels after the body stopped growing. Then the chin, the ears, the fingers, the toes are too long. He can be hiding big hands in his pockets.
I'd wager the only disability this guy has is in the brain function department. Imoo

Here is another thing from the presser:

“We are confident that you have told someone what you have done or at the very least they know because how different you are since the murders.”

Does it mean Carter hinted at the family knowing? Him telling someone, probably immediately after?

This guy had limited time, and was on a mission.

He’s lucky he wasn’t spotted, as committing a crime like this in broad daylight, is as stupid as it is evil.

It’s hard enough to control and murder two teenage girls, let alone video the thing.
Most children that are taken are kidnapped or attack during broad daylight. Joseph Duncan kidnapped most of his victims during the day; in front of other children. He even writes in his prison blog how easy it is to control children when they are afraid. It’s sick. I don’t think BG had limited time; I think he knew that he had all the time in the world. He took control of two teenage girls who stuck by one another until the end. He directed them to a more isolated area and murdered them ... was he even alone at this point? Joseph Duncan managed to control two kids for 7 weeks out in the wilderness and even had plenty of time to both attack and film his disgusting acts at the time same. He was so evil that he was able to take control of entire families for prolonged periods until he slaughtered them. If promise someone that you will let them go free, they will comply a little more.

Many criminals, including murderers, just love to talk.

They may simply be playing the odds.

If this is about power and control, this guy might be proud of what he did, and might want credit.

He can’t brag in the open, because that will mean he’ll be caught. He’d have to do it within his circle.

Either out of pride or guilt (unlikely), I do think he’s told someone.

Admin note:

Take the "incel" and "white supremacist" discussion to the private conversation area. Theories have to be based on known facts and law enforcement has not announced any connection to those topics.

Okay, I'll fall on my sword here, and also ask how I do that, because i am dumb and do not know how how to get there.

I was listening to the ISP video they released this week with the new audio of BG's voice. When he says "guys" [or at least what sounds like guys] it seems to be pronounced "guise" or "gise" almost like there is a slight lisp. If the shape of his face is right in the second sketch they just released, I think he will have teeth that could benefit from orthodontia. Maybe an "overjet" where the front teeth stick out over the bottom teeth creating the "sss" sound at the end of "guys." What do others think?

I'm sort of struck by this, as to me "guys" and "guise" are pronounced identically. Or are you meaning he makes more of an s sound at the end, instead of the z-ish sound that is typical?

“Hiding in plain sight” has been used in the past to highlight the way our society perceives in their suspects. When we hear about a horrific crime like this we tend to picture someone with an appearance and social status that matches the horror of the crime. So the mugshot that does NOT surprise us is the unclean and unshaven stranger with the dark soulless eyes and dirty clothes. You can see that also in pop culture when movies, for example, tend to leave what the monster looks like to the viewer since they would always imagine something more horrific than what the movie maker could show.

In a case where the profile is pointing to something outside society’s norm of a cold blooded killer it is said that the suspect is “hiding in plain sight”. That can be directed both towards physical appearance (youthful features, clean cut, polite and soft spoken) and social status (rich, in a position of standing, etc).

Hope that helps.

I think your descriptions of the types of suspects who "hide in plain sight" is spot on! Four fairly recent murder cases involving suspects who hid in plain sight provide good examples of the type of "respectable" suspect that people should consider in the Delphi case. These four suspects are in strong contrast to the kind of suspect the public so often thinks of in murder cases. An example of the stereotypical murder suspect is listed last. I hope these examples further help to clarify what LE likely means when stating that the Delphi murder suspect is "hiding in plain sight."

I, too, think he did. Where does it put that person when the perp is arrested? Accessory to murder?

The person should better confide to avoid own charges.

Duncan’s victims were quite a bit younger; these were teenage girls.

Snatching kids in public is one thing; murdering teenage girls in an isolated yet frequently traversed area, is another.

This guy was spotted by atleast two witnesses, and likely more than that.

“All the time in the world,” only if that time included him being caught.

The context of the original post, was this guy videotaping the whole thing.

I absolutely do not believe he did, nor that another individual was involved.

Duncan actually have many teenage victims.

He “may” have been spotted by two witnesses. We don’t know that for certain.

Mike Patty confirmed that there was **advertiser censored* witness in the "Murder in my Family" podcast.

I'm not sure how mods are handling info from podcasts...Has this been addressed?

I have to learn some more about probable cause! I am obviously way too excitable. This week has been baffling to me!

I forget that not everyone is familiar with the legal terms I throw out there. Sorry about that!

It's essentially evidence that showsnits more likely than not that someone committed a specific crime.

So witness identification. The authorities can place them in the area at the same time as the crimes. Incriminating statements. DNA matches. Etc.

They are hoping someone that they knew was in attendance did not sign in as required..which might be a potential red flag.imo

Maybe but I can’t think of a reason why he’d want to intentionally wave a red flag? He might be more apt to casually walk in, sign his name, find a place to sit or stand and not do anything at all to attract undue attention. He’s had more than two years of practise in acting as cool as a cucumber and by now he thinks he’s never going to get caught. And attending a Press Conference isn’t evidence of guilt because the public was invited to attend plus he had no way of knowing in advance the “substantial new direction” was going to be all about him. No doubt there were eyes in the room though.

I'm just a couple hours away from Delphi and I think that's just a Midwestern accent. Sounds normal to me. But it's definitely distinct!

Interesting. I spent a year in IA and think they speak very different.
