Agree! I think this was a chance encounter with a BG who had practiced, planned an prepared! I hope LE has their eye on someone as some posts have eluded too.

I was thinking the same thing, I would assume pick up location was the same as drop off location so both parties knew where to be. From the 2:30 picture to pickup time at 3-3:30, chances are this was not prearrange meet with the perp and just a chance encounter as the girls would have been heading back to the pickup spot in my opinion, otherwise the meet would have been closer to the drop off time.

I agree. I understand so many people want him to be caught but all the social media stuff is dangerous territory. I think that's why I love webslueths because of the rules in place. 2 minutes on social media and you appreciate the time and the conversation here.

Exactly what I think . The police had access to more of the video I'm sure they know more then a lot of people who have called in tips about the suspect. It must be so frustrating for them to go through it all

Agreed..

I was only thinking they were posing as authority figures because otherwise they may have yelled/made noise or tried to run away.

So then, if they were grabbed as you say, the BG must've had a weapon to threaten them so they wouldn't make noise? That sure looks like a weapon in his pocket, doesn't it? Gun or taser.

JMO

Don't need a weapon .... if he grabs your friend hard and tells u to go u gooo.
These are scared kids.. this man looks like a very bad guy.

IMO the police are pretty confident they know who it is but are waiting to get all the evidence and results back to make a strong case. That's why they've asked people not to post random pictures of people etc. As I stated its only my opinion

In your opinion only...was this a random act? someone local? done this before? MOO

Grrrrrr
Every time I write a post the page refreshes and poof.
Very frustrating.

Imo they wouldn't tell the family that in case it compromised the investigation. Like imagine being a family member and being told who was a suspect and what your reaction might be. Imo I probably wouldn't wait for an arrest

My opinion, SK. Over many years, with peaks and valleys of activity, but within a certain radius of his home "base" Now that he is getting older, his "activities" have escalated

My thoughts exactly! moo

BG knew not only the park, but the possible LE response to his heinous crimes.

That's my brass tacks assessment. He's done it before, and it scares me to state this, most likely (come on, people) watched the same YouTube videos to perpetrate this crime.

We've pieced together various scenarios here on WS. Members here stated stuff which indicated they thought this guy is some dumb *advertiser censored* who has spent his entire work career picking up scrap lumber at work sites, and "just happened upon" the incredibly hidden Monon High Bridge adjacent to Delphi, Indiana.rs.

Who the heck even knows where Delphi is located? There are people in that community who clearly do not know how to access the trail which leads to the Monon High Bridge, over Deer Creek. Who would know where it's located, and/or why?

I disagree as there is a very plausible alternative. For example: BG has never committed murder and is simply pre-disposed to commit a horrendous crime. BG then picks a place where he feels comfortable.

The hiking trail is neither the Statue of Liberty nor the Lost Dutchman Mine in regards to recognition / obscurity. BG knows about the trail either by hiking, messing around on it when he was younger, heard about it from a co-worker, saw a sign for the trail while driving one day and was bored etc.

As you mentioned, BG does know the park well, but this could have been gained over the course of a few relatively long visits, being somewhat observant and willing to try new trails for an hour or so. He has not demonstrated, say intimate knowledge of the climbing routes on El Capitan or winter routes up Mount Rainier.

As for the crime, it is entirely possible that rather than being a "pro", BG was just impulsive and got lucky. For example:

He sees the potential victims and he pre-disposed to commit the crime. He looks around and does not see any readily apparent witnesses. BG then tosses out a ruse- he has nothing to lose from attempting it as he has not committed a crime yet. The ruse does not need alot of background knowledge, acting or a uniform (say, Park Ranger). BG uses something from his own general experience: "I work for the rail road. You are trespassing on the bridge. If you take the bridge back, I"ll need to call the police. Don't worry, I"ll show you a ..."

If the victims hesitated, started to call somebody, looked like they would shout, BG just breaks off the attempt ("OK, you can take the bridge back, I"ll just give a warning this time").

As for intelligence, BG's intelligence could be high, average or low. He could be an intelligent, but anti social guy who is a self employed mechanic and acted on impulse. He could also be an overall but not totally dim witted scrap collector who took a moderate chance and got "lucky".

I have to disagree with you concerning calling in theories. LE has asked to call in tips no matter how small or insignificant you may think they are. These theories have been known to solve cases.

But how
Could someone possibly have enough information to make a judgement about medical issues that BG may have off of two grainy images?
Sure cases sometimes get solved by people calling in real tips but my post was more about tips that are not fact based and more of a wild guess.
Fwiw I personally believe that the FBI would have reviewed all evidence ( not just two grainy stills) and would be able to draw their own conclusions better than someone making a medical diagnosis from two grainy pics.

Agreed. I had wondered myself if he was escorting them off the bridge, to get them to the north side, before commanding them "down the hill". That way if they encountered any other hikers he could have abandoned his plan.

Can you imagine what Karina Vetrano's parents would have done to Chanel Lewis if they knew LE had him in their crosshairs before they officially arrested him? As soon as his arrest was announced, Phil Vetrano was seen leaving his house with a baseball bat....Police intercepted him and took him home.

Someone made a medical diagnosis of the perp and called it in to LE as a tip? I must have missed more pages than I thought. That does sound like a wild theory to contact LE about without more information.

It was very windy on that day. I drove my Jeep to Burlington on that day around 11 am and I remember feeling the wind blow my Jeep as I drove. It was a beautiful sunny, blustery day. A perfect day to be outside!
Thank you for this. There's been much talk about BG being over dressed that day. I've been wondering if the wind chill factor could come into play. Also the wind would cover up sounds in the woods.

I have to wonder if he is living in Delphi and or the vicinity and has some sort of connection to the family. Such as a friend or neighbor. MOO. Just thinking out loud.

People relocate to small towns all of the time.

In my career I spend time as a 911 dispatcher and every time there was a car accident even minor the phones would light up... we could get easily 20 calls for a fender bender but most of us no matter how annoyed we were also appreciated that people cared enough to call. The police specifically said in this situation that they wanted "ALL" tips called in. They did not say we are only looking for calls at this time with information about the suspect. Yes it may at times be overwhelming and even annoying to get as many calls as they are BUT when enough people are calling in about the same thing it may just help them to take a second look. Look at yesterdays "penis pic" that was a super productive conversation that made us all take a second look. JMO ;)

Nin,

Thanks for digging that up. I knew I saw photographic proof of tape on South side. I think tape is there because that's "the hill". I'm fully team South Side...
thanks.

Thanks from me too Nin, I too am firmly on the south side team J9 with you, seems only logical scenario, not that logic has played any part in this sick guys mind.
