Welcome!!!! I agree with all of that. I think the spot he had pre-picked out was ideal because there was a big hill behind it and a creek in front of it. He just cut off any escape routes significantly. I think they should be asking to interview anyone who had been on those trails for the couple of weeks prior to see who they have encountered and what they saw. I don't think he has come back since. Afterall, his big plan was finished! It would be more helpful to try to get info from people who might have witnessed the plan being formulated.

Glad you joined! Keep contributing!

Thank you for the warm welcome and I definitely agree!

Even anything down to the type of cars (or trucks) parked nearby, I think anything would help. I find it very hard to believe he didn't know the trail well, if anyone disagrees I challenge them to visit a random trail they've never been too and see how confusing everything seems, people get lost even on well known and well cleared trails, never mind having to cross a creek. I don't think people realize how easy it is to get lost on wooded trails. The suspect sounds cold and calculating.

On another note, I don't think it matters if he lived in Delphi or not, I live in New England and will frequently drive 10-20 miles to walk trails I like. Anecdotal I know but it's good to keep things in perspective and not limit things to just Delphi.

Yes, I posted it a bit earlier. Wondering if there is a connection as well.
There is speculation that the woman drown or suffered hypothermia from a terrible accident while trying to rescue an animal. MOO

I'm convinced if he isn't caught he will become a SK, Somebody who kills two inocent young girls like this doesn't just stop on their own! IMO

Add to that the firm commanding manner he spoke to them. This wasn't just a situation that got out of control. This was his intention. That's a killer and all it takes for it to be a SK is if he's done it one time before. I think 3 people murdered is the # that makes someone a SK.

§ Signature
· Victim held captive during rape
· Risky – zero respect

§ Do not challenge or enrage – try to escape or incapacitate rapist
§ If not trying to escape, try to limit the level of violence
§ Pick a path and stick with it – either try to outsmart the rapist or be highly compliant. The reasoning for this is that that the rapist is of such a violent nature and has a low frequency of between crimes, so the anger he possesses resembles someone else to him and tends to be highly volatile. A victim must choose her path cautiously and must not act on a whim because he will have zero tolerance for erratic behavior.

I was on a discussion earlier on Facebook and they believe the lady in Columbus went into the river to save a stray dog and was swept away, a friend of the family posted.

Interesting that you say that, couple few threads ago, someone else mentioned, that they also heard something after, "Down the hill"... a kind of a whispered, Hurry up" is what they thought they heard. I kind of dismissed it, but now that you are also saying that you hear some sort of (breathless?), vocalization after the word hill, I will (reluctantly!) listen to it again.
use cool edit or audacity to slow down and amplify the sound file. Take out background noise as well. Look at the wave form of the sound file to see any artifacts in the sound file. Just my opinion on how a clearer sound file can be created.

Huum....Didn't I read early on that muck boots were found nearby the creek? If so,he took off in a hurry and forgot them. IMHO I think he knew the landowner was away, and if so,must either know him,or someone the landowner told that he would be away. Was anyone coming to feed any animals on that property?
Going through old reports, on April 26,2014 the landowner called police to report a burgler at 9:49PM, in his barn...but the person fled before police arrived. I wonder if someone sneaks there on occasion, when they think the owner isn't home?

I had not read anything about muck boots. Was that in a news story? Regarding knowing the land owner was away, I believe the location he used on the property was secluded and remote from the home or barn, virtually an unused bottomland part of his property.

I've not had time to read all the way through today so my apologies if this has been posted already. The age difference is quite significant but I still find it odd.
http://cbs4indy.com/2017/03/03/search-underway-for-missing-columbus-woman/

They found Jackie Watts on a sandbar. Abby and Liberty from Delphi, IN, were found next to water, just around 100 miles from there, and two teen girls, Laura and Emily Stratton, went missing from Atlanta, IN, back in December, around 100 miles from Delphi.

There's 45 miles between Columbus, IN and Indianapolis, IN.
There's 77 miles between Delphi, IN and Indianapolis, IN.
There are 55 miles between Atlanta, IN and Indianapolis, IN.

Just a little odd.

Also odd, why was there no publicity like this for Laura, and Emily, Stratton? I wonder under what conditions they went missing. I've not found much thus far. Going to dig a bit more.

We don´t have too much info about the killer to use your guide.

I went to the 1st page with admin notes and see nothing stating we cannot discuss geocaching. Can you direct me to this information? Thanks.

You can utilize the search function on the board to see which of the girls' threads the mods' note was put in, I'm going to guess it was in thread 12-17 somewhere. Was just trying to be helpful, not give you a hard time. :)

We don´t have too much info about the killer to use your guide.

If we knew what he did to them we would have an idea of what kind of person we were looking for...even how he stalked them.

I've been following along on here since Thread #1. I registered to tell you that you are all doing a wonderful job. I'd love to sleuth along with you. I'm sickened by what has happened to these young girls. This perp needs to be caught; yesterday!

I agree with you, but we don't have any details, but imo he is a predator.

MOO
I think a possibility is that since the sister who dropped the girls off at the bridge is a premium member of geocaching there is a connection. The sister had already found the highbridge geocache last year. (Note: t's under the bridge but can be found while walking along the top- could be a reason for looking down too). She had taken Libby to four other area geocaches Feb 11. So my thought is Libby wanted to do more geocaches and since her sister had already done the bridge geocache and didn't want to go again she dropped Libby and Abby off for a few hours so they could find that geocache on their own. I have hopes that LE has investigated this angle for an online connection. I did notice one geocacher that seemed unusual was one who has been a member since 2011 yet has only publically logged one geocache ever. And that one geocache was the highbridge one and the date was January 2017. Is this something that should be reported or do you reckon LE has checked this kind of thing out already?

Report that unusual geocacher.
